  4. Cracked U joints, I put small rubber O rings on my U joint collars it stops them cracking but allows enough flex to push on an axle.
  5. That's OK I am glad it worked it took me awhile to find it out if I remember brixcc will still upload the firm ware even if it shows an error.
  6. Hi nxtstep101 use brixcc to download the firmware, use an earlier firmware version then when you have it up and running you can upgrade to a later version. I have done this with two of my NXT bricks. that went into SAMBA mode
  7. Hi I have that serial adapter and it does not work with my RCX that is another reason I use an old laptop with a serial port.
  8. Hi Have you any Arduino software installed on your PC if so this is clashing with the RCX software. It took me ages to find this out on my PC in the end I installed RCXCC on an old laptop and that installed the firmware OK.
  9. Hi I had the same problem, do you have the Arduino IDE installed on your PC if so this is why the NXT is seen as a Bossa port the Arduino IDE takes over the NXT drivers. I uninstalled the Arduino IDE but would still not work. I put an older hard drive in my laptop with XP on and installed the NXT software I was then able to re-flash the NXT brick using Bricx command centre.
  10. Hi I have not used my RCX for years but looking at it yesterday I tried to download the firmware using a USB to serial adapter on a Windows 7 laptop and three other computers no good. I loaded Bricc onto an old Windows XP PC with a serial port and re-flashed the firmware no problem. It looks like the RCX is not found with a USB to serial adapter. Paul.
  11. Hi grum regards No it is my Mother in law I agree with an earlier post it should jump forward it would scare the kids to death Ha Ha
  12. Hi DaveI had exactly the same problem it was the Arduino IDE interfering with the the firmware update in the end I installed BrickCC on an old laptop and that downloaded the firmware OK. I had even tried to uninstall the Arduino IDE on my desk top PC still would not work.
  13. A Clam shell grab would have been better it could then be rope operated.
  14. Hi nextstep Very nice thank you for this and the lxf file, my four year old Grandson is mad on marble machines so I must start building some GBC modules.
  15. When I drop a half bush on the floor I always find it as they do not roll away.
  16. Hi use contrasting colours in LDD to build, you can then change the parts to black later.
  17. The axle hole fits a standard axle, the pin holes are the same size but only 75% depth the plastic is ABS just like the newer parts..
  18. Hi I put small O rings on all my UV Joints they hold better and do not split, they can be had in boxes of assorted sizes in our UK £ Shops.
  19. Hi Police Buggy 8230 had a large police figure

  21. [quote name='vrb' date='29 September 2012 - 06:50 PM I bought two crawlers 9398. At one with the differentials all right, but when I opened second I was very upset to find them differentials with notches ... Why TLG prodycing this type of differentials that spoil other gear? Who knows, if i write a letter, will TLG send me good differentials? I'm doing a review but in this fact I was very frustrated : ( Sorry for my bad English. Hi vrb I just checked two of mine from the 8265 Loader, they are the same as the one on the left. It looks like TLG changed these to give full depth tooth engagement. You have one of the old type.
  22. Thank's VF It is a monster Williy's Jeep, the chassis has been changed, you can only go so far with the 9398 chassis, I do not think it can be shortend. Yes I have said the rear load bed could be increased in lenghth to look better. Ok you guys can do better, lets roll, alternate body designs for the 9398 are welcome.
