I'm not sure if there is already a topic about this (I think I've seen one a loooong time ago, when it was in a very unfinished state, but I can't seem to find it). Anyways, here it is: http://translate.google.com/translate?prev...history_state0= (translated with google translator, originally japanese) Unfortunately it is not my creation, I wish I had a collection to build that . There's also some other great mocs on that site worth checking out.

That is a very nice chandelier, and the rest of the moc isn't too shabby either , it looks great. Unfortunately the transclear pieces are of lower quality than solid colours, making them yellow more easily. -
Majek - 1 I Scream Clone - 1 Erdbeereis - 1 Infomaniac - 2 oo7 - 2 There where so many great entries, but unfortunately only 7 points to divide

Well, it did get worse (with 4+) and now it has gotten a bit better again, but still it is nowhere near the old pirates, the only "old" pirate set that was worse than today's sets is crossbone clipper. New pirates have awesome figures and some nice new accesoires, but the sets are really lacking.

Those microfigs look very cool, although with that printing they're useless as babies.
-
Those are from the adventurers line (the jungle/aztec/inca one), I got only one myself from BL, they're not that cheap. But that is quite some treasure you have there, I think I'll count my treasure some day.

The middle design looks the best in my opinion, maybe you could go for a 1 stud wide version. I think all white would look good, maybe all black (or brown even). Black/yellow as the outside wouldn't look that good in my opinion, I would at least go for one solid colour.

And another last-minute entry, they keep popping up Possible improvement points: 1. I think the floor would look better if tiled in this case, or if it where made a snot-floor. + maybe the last pic could have a slightly different camera-angle, so it doesn't look like he's wearing sunglasses Good points: 1. The planks covering up battledamage (I presume, or the captain has a serious bad-temper ), nice touch. 2. I like the bed with cheese slopes, I don't think I've seen it used that often, but it makes for a nice thinner bed, instead of the thicker bed using curved bricks.

You just entered in the last hour of the contest, just in the nick of time Possible improvement points: 1. I'm not too fond of how the window connects to the wall, it doesn't really fit in. Maybe a regular window would have worked better. Good points: 1. It has got a lot of action going on, including your everyday drunken bird 2. I like the planking on the floor, nice "worn-out" floor.

This is a big improvement, some treasure chests still blend in a little bit too much, but the overall colouring change is very good.
-
I'm pretty glad it isn't brown, I like this colouring a lot more, else it would be way too dark. So blue is one of the better colours they could pick. This is a great set, unfortunately it is 1 of only 3 wolfpack sets , too bad they didn't go on with the theme.

That must be one happy captain Possible improvement points: 1. The moc is very brown (/frown), maybe you could add some other colours to break up the monotomy of the brown. Maybe some black treasure chests, a nice coloured trim on the wall, , other window frames, lanterns, something like that. Good points: 1. Good idea, this must be every captains dream 2. Plenty of booty, swag, simoleons, loot, boodle, treasure, wampum, haul, spoils, pillage, prize, scratch, dough, moolah, sugar, plunder and gold to go around, even though the captains is a real pirate in keeping everything to himself

Them pirates be looking a little seasick aye Possible improvement points: 1. Maybe the door and/or window could be sloped, just like the wall. Good points: 1. I really like the wall, don't think I've seen that before (at least not in this way). 2. Original sword-rack. 3. Nice hanging bed, good plan to have one of those on a ship.

Nice colourful moc, yet depicting a somewhat grim scene it seems, I like that contrast. Possible improvement points: 1. As has been said, the lower area is a bit weird, hard to tell excactly what's going on/what's going to happen (allthough that does add to the "mystery" in this moc). Good points: 1. Nice poses for the minifigs, especially the on throwing his cape off. 2. I personally kinda like the tan/yellow/white colour combo. 3. Original concept.
-
That is one damn fine moc you built there Possible improvement points: 1. Just some tiny things like the fish on the wall and the table legs don't look a 100% right, but the greatness of the moc overshadows that. Good points: 1. Where to start , excelent detailing and furnishing. 2. The technique for the candelebras looks great. 3. It is very complete, it has got everything a captain needs, from fine wine, food, to his trusty parrot compagnion.

The nearer we get to the end of the contest, the more entries a day are posted it seems Possible improvement points: 1. Did pirates have pizza and hamburgers? As has been said, it looks a bit "modern" overall. Good points: 1. Good amount of action going on. 2. Pleasant colour use. 3. Nice detailing, the cape used as a towel, lots of "kitcheny" stuff lying around etc. 4. Nicely built oven/fireplace, good size for this moc.

The brown crate is definately an improverment over the black treasure chest, good result. *O NoEs, it's the floating chamber of doom!* Didn't even notice it until you mentioned it, but it does look good.

That's a good "last-minute" entry I think (it ends monday or tuesday right?) Possible improvement points: 1. I think the "barrels" would look better with the official barrel piece (here). 2. Maybe a thinner tabletop, like here. Good points: 1. Good amount of "action" going on, like the guy getting kicked down the stairs. 2. That's some "dubious soup" getting made there . 3. Sneaky bastard in the crate, is he spying?, is he their next meal?, who knows

Oh, creative!... in that case: *stands on head while giving comments* Anyways, this is a fine looking moc you got there infomaniac! Possible improvement points: 1. The sword over the fireplace doesn't look right somehow, maybe some "classic crossed swords over the fireplace" would be a good touch. 2. The "rigging" mechanism for the chandelier, it is creative, but it does look a bit weird with the rest of the moc in my opinion. Allthough I wouldn't really know a better solution for it, so maybe this is the best option. 3. Maybe the back of the fireplace could be black, it is very unlikely that is is still white after all those fires lit in it. Good points: 1. The clothes and wig/hat are a very nice touch, as well as the wood in front of the fireplace, model boats, "pointing stick thingies" for battleplanning, the globe, ironingboard, and the list goes on and on, great detail. 2. Very pleasing colour combination. 3. The extra scene in the basement/dungeon is a good addition to an allready great moc.

I had the same thing. I didn't change anything (and didn't remove cookies), and all of a sudden I had this problem. Now I just use http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?act=idx (instead of just www.eurobricks.com) as the url and it's fine.

You're welcome I can see you want to "connect" the 2 sections by using familiar colours, but the frame around the zebra hide is pretty big (although the selection in pearlgold pieces lego produces is quite limited, so it is understandably hard to make a small/sleek frame in pearlgold).

That is one sweet moc Possible improvement points: 1. The skull over the bed looks a bit out of place, maybe make the eyes another colour. 2. The wall decoration with the "zebra-print" in the middle doesn't really look that great in my opinion, maybe a window or other wall decoration (maybe a trophy like a shark, or fish ) would look better. Good points: 1. The floorboards look great, nice touch to have some of them bend up. 2. Alive feeling in this moc, feels fresh and exciting, plenty of detail and stuff going on. 3. The wall, uniform, yet not repetative.
-
Good moc, nice, simple, maybe a bit dark with the walls, but hey, it's manned by skeleton pirates for a reason . Possible improvement points: 1. The table could be a plate, or maybe 2, lower. Good points: 1. Good "cluttered" look, lots of details. 2. The floor looks good, a much better use for those bricks than how they where use in the new BB ship.
-
Nice, very clean moc. Possible improvement points: 1. The "roof" over the bed looks a bit odd (smaller than the bed itself) 2. The flags between the cannons would look a bit better if they where a solid color, or designed to hang vertical, now the flags look a bit weird since the logo isn't straight. 3. The fireplace isn't "going anywhere", as in: there's no chimney above it. Good points: 1. Carpet under the bed, very nice touch. 2. Good detail in the captain's room, even got some model ships . 3. Color combination, I really like the white/tan combo used in the new soldiers fort.

Maybe because they are unauthentic , there are no genuine castles in the U.S. The building looks nice, but it looks a lot more like a mediterranean house/villa than a castle.
