When traveling to the blacksmith, the captain of the black falcon always stop by his old friend's Leon. The two of them were in the same unit of the royal guard, until Leon quit the army, after getting back from a too long mission patroling the western border of the realm, only to find his wife had succumbed to a disease. After some time he decided to reopen the family brewery: the Two Vipers' Brewery. My entry for BrickPirate summer challenge for which we were asked to make a medieval building with a maximum size of 32x32. [MOC] The Uterceptor - UCS U-Wing / Tie Interceptor ugly
Bob De Quatre replied to Bob De Quatre's topic in LEGO Star Wars
According to Wookiepedia, the size of the wing is pretty good. A Tie Interceptor is 9.5m long while the U-Wing is almost 24m, so the Intercptor wing is almost 1/2 the length of the U-Wing. I based my calculation on the "Owner's Workshop Manual" books for both Alliance and Tie Fighhter (https://www.amazon.com/Star-Wars-Fighter-Owners-Workshop/dp/1683835271 https://www.amazon.com/Star-Wars-Starfighters-Owners-Workshop/dp/1683839366) Everyone should need a UCS ugly! -
[MOC] The Uterceptor - UCS U-Wing / Tie Interceptor ugly
Bob De Quatre replied to Bob De Quatre's topic in LEGO Star Wars
Thanks. I spent a lot of time measuring the schematics to get the sizes as close as possible to the real thing. I was not that fond of the U-Wing before working on it, and now I find it very interesting. And I always loved the Tie Interceptor! -
[MOC] The Uterceptor - UCS U-Wing / Tie Interceptor ugly
Bob De Quatre replied to Bob De Quatre's topic in LEGO Star Wars
Thanks everyone I have a thing for uglies since I was a kid Thanks, I soent way too much time on these pictures. Well it is UCS sized. It should have roughly the sale size as @StarBricks U-Wing. -
The Uterceptor, Zar Mioln's personnal starfighter, was built from a damaged U-Wing salvagedby the Dawn's Raiders Guild from a recent space battle opposing the Rebellion and the Empire. After being brought into the Harvester's main hangar, the U-Wing damages were assessed. The ship lost its starboard engines, wing and door, but was otherwise in good condition. Wingss and twin ion engines from Tie Interceptors were used to repair the U-Wing. The missing door was replaced by armor plates and a missile launcher pod was added. The Uterceptor is used as a command and support ship, adding firepower to salvage parties when needed. Due to its shape, it can't land anywere but on a specific dock inside the Harvester's hangar. The Uterceptor by BobDeQuatre, on Flickr The Uterceptor by BobDeQuatre, on Flickr The Uterceptor by BobDeQuatre, on Flickr Finally done... It all started as a micro build last year, and I decided to start working on it during the last lockdown. I bought books to have access to schematics of both U-Wing and Tie Interceptor and made lots of measurements to get all the shapes and angles right. Of course it's not perfect as I had to make some choices. Sometimes getting one part right was messing up another part... I also faced difficuties adding details on the inside, as the measurements of the interior didn't quite matched the space available. I also tried not to look at other UCS sized U-Wing. I just compared solutions used on a few areas. I decided not to use the UCS X-Wing canopy as its shape isn't really great for the U-Wing, and switched for a "no glass" solution that I'm not completely happy with. I also tried Light My Bricks stuff for the first time, and it was a really great experience. I'm impressed by the small size of the leds and wires. Anyway, I hope you'll like it. Very nice rendition of the Venator! I really like that the hangar is openable and that it holds some tiny vehicles :) -
[MOC][Instructions] UCS A/SF-01 B-Wing
Bob De Quatre replied to Bob De Quatre's topic in LEGO Star Wars
According to Rebrickable, 10227 has only 31% of the parts needed for my MOC. Using the cockpit part of the 10227 was a strong no from the start. I don't like that part, it has more drawbacks than benefits (mainly the canopy printing). -
[MOC][Instructions] UCS A/SF-01 B-Wing
Bob De Quatre replied to Bob De Quatre's topic in LEGO Star Wars
Thanks. The exact same size, as it was initialy based on the 10227. -
It's finally done! Last year I started to rebuild the UCS B-Wing I built years ago, trying to fix design flaws and inaccuracies, and it was a blast! I love the B-Wing, and I wanted to do it justice by trying to be as close as possible to the ILM model. I also redesigned the stand to give it a more dynamic stance, as the old one was vertical. And I also designed a small stand for a "bust" version of the B-Wing, with only the cockpit and engines blocks. I hope you'll like it, and if you're interested, the instructions are available on Rebrickable: https://rebrickable.com/mocs/MOC-77953/BobDeQuatre/ucs-asf-01-b-wing

I really like this build, very inspiring and inspired. Glad you could be in touch with the original creator! The only part that I don't like is the blue line at the top of the "water fall".

Go back to school in the review of set 41682 - Heartlake City School
-
Set information Set Name: Heartlake City School Set Number: 41682 Number of Pieces: 605 Theme: Friends Year Release: 06/2021 Prices: £59.99 / $59.99 / €64.99 (Euro prices may vary) #41682 on Brickset #41682 on Rebrickable Box and content The box contains 7 numbered bags, an instructions booklet and a loose stickers sheet. For set of this size, and a stickers sheet of this size (20 stickers!), I'd prefered it to come in a thicker plastic bag. The box front shows the facade of the buildings, while the back features the inside and all the activities that can be done. The build The build is pretty straightforward, with no difficulties. With each bag, you build each individual room, starting from the bottom left to the top right : the canteen, the school hall, the drama and music classroom, the art classroom, the bathroom (the mandatory toilets are included) and the lab. Bag one contais the 3 minidolls, the bike, the basketball panel and the canteen table that can be attached next to the canteen or used as an outside table. The completed build looks really good from both sides. The facade is especially very nice, with the colonnades, the dark orange brick bricks and multitude of windows. There is a lot to do in this school, and each room is greatly detailed (with the use of lots of stickers). My favorite classroom is the drama and music one, with all its accessories and its two glow in the dark shields! The sandwiches in the canteen are also cleverly done. There is no roof over the second floor rooms, so you can easily play with the minidolls. But the second floor don't detach, so the first floor rooms are maybe less playable.. Minidolls The set comes with 3 minidolls: - Olivia - Marisa - who makes her debuts as a Friends minidoll - Julian - Only appeared in set 41448: Heartlake City Movie Theatre There are sadly no animals on the school grounds. Conclusion Design: 7/10 - A simple build but very nice looking, especially the facade Parts: 6/10 - The part selection is average, nothing too fancy in this set, excepts if you really love windows. Playability: 8/10 - With 6 different rooms and the beginning, lots of accessories, of an exterior playground, the set offers a great playability. Minidolls: 6/10 - The 3 minidolls are nice, but one more for a set of this size would have been better. And no animals.. Price: 4/10 - With a high ppp of 0,107€ and 3 minidolls, this set is overpriced. Overall: 31/50 (62%) - A nice looking set that would make a great addition to any Friends display, but the price is too high for what the set offers.

[REVIEW] 40516 - Everyone is Awesome
Bob De Quatre replied to Bob De Quatre's topic in Special LEGO Themes
Yes they are -
Disclaimer: I'll (try to) stay purely factual about this set, despite my personnal opinion. I know what the comments will be, I've already read them everywhere, and I don't want to be part of any witch hunt... because I love witches... Set information Set Name: Everyone is Awesome Set Number: 40516 Number of Pieces: 346 Theme: Miscellaneous Year Release: 06/2021 Prices: £30.99 / $34.99 / €34.99 (Euro prices may vary) #40516 on Brickset #40516 on Rebrickable Box and content The medium sized box shows the set on a black background with a white Lego bricks outline on the bottom. The black makes the box quite classy, but there are also splashes of colors from the set itself. The back of the box has different angled views of the set. The box contains unumbered bags and the instructions booklet. The booklet features a text from Matthew Ashton, Vice President of Design at Lego. I'll let you read the text and make your own opinion about it. The build The build is really simple, and consists of layers of plates and tiles, and then layers of bricks. And then you add the 11 monochrome minifgs. The top of the build features 1x3 arches in all the 11 colors. The hairs parts are mostly new, and so are some of the 1x2 plates and bricks. The different body parts of the minifigs are also either rare or completely new, and at least we've never seens such a combination of monochrome minifigs before in any official set. The minifigs All the 11 minifigs are identical, with absolutely no printings even on then part. The only difference between them being their hair parts (and obviously their colors). (Yep, a white monochrome minifig on a white background is hard to photograph...) Conclusion Design: 7/10 - The build is simple, but really convey the message behind the set. Parts: 7/10 - The part selection may seem bad, but some parts are new recolors. Minifigs: 11/10 - The 11 monochrome minifgs looks great with their uniques hairs. Price: 7/10 - With a ppp of 0,10€ and 11 monochrome minifigs, the price of the set is... I don't want to put a price on such a set. Overall: 32/40 (80%) - A nice set that as a lot of meaning to some, and less to other. A great opportunity to get monochromes minifigs if that's what you're interested in.

Don't be afraid, enter the magical Friends funfair!
-
Set information Set Name: Magical Funfair Stalls Set Number: 41687 Number of Pieces: 361 Theme: Friends Year Release: 06/2021 Prices: £24.99 / $29.99 / €29.99 (Euro prices may vary) #41687 on Brickset #41687 on Rebrickable Box and content The box's front feature the funfair subtheme artwork. The set is shown, and if you look closely, you can see that there is a magic trick included. The back of the box shows each individual build a bit better, and also reveals the trick behind the magic trick... The box contains 4 numbered bags, two instructions booklet and a sticker sheet. The first instruction booklet will guide you through the build of the ticket booth, the makeup trolley and the turnstile, while the second booklet will help you build ice-cream stall and the levitation stand. The stickers sheet is iridescent. The build The builds are simple and easy to build. Each have clips on the sides so you can attach them in any order you want, or just dispose them as you wish. In bag 1, we get Emma and Henry, and we build the tickets booth and the face-paint cart. With bag 2 we build the turnstile. As the levitation stand, all the 1x1 transparent round plates cover a 1x1 glow in the dark round plate. Bag 3 adds the ice-cream stall. And with bag 4, we'll finally build the levitation stand and it's magic trick performed by Camila. The magic is operated by a rotating knob at the back of the build. The completed set looks pretty good. You can scatter all the individual builds any way you want. I guess these would be a nice addition next to bigger sets and help you make a large display come to life. Minidolls The set comes with 2 minidolls and one microdolls... and a little bunny with a hat. Emma in her amusement park outfit is exclusve to the set, while Camila also comes in set 41685 and 41689 but with a different loxer body part. In this set she wears a nice two layers skirt with black squares patterned white stockings. Henry, Emma's step-brother appeared only once in set 41447. Camila's cape is also iridescent, which is great... but it's a bit stiff. Conclusion Design: 7/10 - Simple builds, but one includes a magic trick!! The fact that the builds can be displayed on their own or attached together is a plus. Parts: 6/10 - The part selection is average, but we do get 18 1x1 glow in the dark round plates! Playability: 7/10 - With 4/5 small builds, the playability is good, and you can even perform a magic trick. Minidols: 8/10 - The 3 minidols are nice, especially Camila's outfit. Emma is exclusive and Henry almost. Price: 6/10 - With a ppp of 0,083€ and 3 minidolls, this set is a bit overpriced. Overall: 34/50 (68%) - A nice little set with nice minidolls and a few cool small builds, especially the levitation stand, but a bit too costly.

Be sure to visit the Forest Horseback Riding Center!

Set information Set Name: Forest Horseback Riding Center Set Number: 41683 Number of Pieces: 511 Theme: Friends Year Release: 06/2021 Prices: £59.99 / $64.99 / €69.99 (Euro prices may vary) #41683 on Brickset #41683 on Rebrickable Box and content Front of the box shows the Horseback Riding Center in front of a montainous forest landscape, which fit the subtheme quite well. Tha back of the box feature the inside of the building and shows some of the play features. The box contains 6 numbered bags and a two thicker plastic bags, one with the instruction booklets and the stickers sheet, and one with two 8x16 dark orange plates and Melody and Rhapsody, the two horses that are the star of the set. The build The build is silmple, with no advanced techniques. The building is at some points a bit flimsy, but this is corrected in lmost cases a few steps later. Bag 1: A little scenery comes with set, in which the minidolls can eat marshmallow in front of a campfire. I also decided to to add both horses with their saddles off. The pine tree is built using part 15469 in bright green, wich is a new color. You'll find this kind of tree in all sets from the subtheme. Bag 2: Bag 3: Bag 4: These shutters are a new recolor in dark turquoise (teal). Bag 5: The lantern at the top is swinging become someone let the window open! I forgot to take a picture, but the whole first floor and attic can be removed. This is a nice set, quite quickly built, with some nice features, and makes a nice display piece. It is also playable, with the interior being 7 studs deep. The two horses fit inside the stable, with the little pony, and Goldie the dog has its own kennel. Minidolls The set comes with - Mia in horseback riding outfit - Savannah - The first blind minidoll that appeared only once in Heartlake City Vet Clinic (41446) - Kevin - Exclusive to this set The set only comes with the 4 main animals, not even an additionnal squirrel! I was pleased to see that the two horses don't have the same mane. Despite their identical body mould, the color, mane and printings make them look rather different. But I have to say that the friends saddle is really big, you have to remove a 2x2 chop off the horse. The position of the minidolls feels strange, and they also can't grad correctly the reins. This is not the first appearance of Goldie, as it was in set 41446 alongside Savannah, as it is her helping dog. At the time it was unnamed. Conlusion Design: 6/10 - A quite simple build, nothing too fancy here, but the archways are rather nicely done. Parts: 7/10 - The part selection is rather average, bonus point for the animals and parts in new colors. Playability: 7/10 - All the kids I know like to play with horses... for a time. Minidols: 7/10 - The 3 minidols are nice and I like that Savannah is back, with an exclusive Kevin. Price: 5/10 - With a high ppp of 0,136€ the set is rather costly, despite the two horses. Overall: 32/50 (64%) - A nice set, but expensive. Getting Rhapsody and Melody may not be enough as an incentive to buy the set. The inclusion of a disabled minidoll, Savannah, is always nice.

Yep it's aqua. I'm also a bit dissapointed by the watermelon, especially compared to the pineapple. But it does it's job.

Visit the beachside stores, you'll be pleased!

Set information Set Name: Surfer Beachfront Set Number: 41693 Number of Pieces: 685 Theme: Friends Year Release: 06/2021 Prices: £59.99 / $69.99 / €69.99 (Euro prices may vary) #41693 on Brickset #41693 on Rebrickable Box and content A medium sized box filled to the brim for this set, with the front showing the facade of the two buildings, the beach side and Mia's car, with lots of accessories. The back of the box of course shows the inside of the buildings, and play features of some areas. The bow contains 7 numbered bags, a plastic bag with the stickers sheet and three instruction booklets, and 2 loose 8x16 lavender plates. The instructions booklets cover Mia's car for the first and smaller one (35 pages), the beach side and the icecream shop for the second (64 pages) while the third one covers the surf shop and the appartment above. The clear stickers sheet is too big for my taste, but I have to say the stickers add a nice touch to the builds. The Build The build is easy and pretty straightforward, with simple techniques. Bag 1: Bag 2: Bag 3 : I really like the icecream signboard, with top 2x2 dome in satin trans dark pink. Bag 4: Bag 5: Bag 6: Bag 7: The final build looks really great. I was doubtful of the way the crashing waves were done, but in the end it's ok. There is a lot of details, both outside and inside the buildings. The buildings are attached by two technic pins , so you can easily split them appart for play or display, or you can even fit a building of your own between them. One of my favorite area: the beach... Well that's mainly for that so cute baby turtle! The outdoor loundge above the icecream shop looks very comfy, and you can eat cakes while listening to an old vinyl record... I also really like the simple but effective technique for the icecream shop's awning. The minidolls The set comes with 3 minidolls and a microdoll: - Mia -Andrea - Nora - Mia's grandmother that is exclusive to this set - Ava - Only appeared in one other set earlier this year The sets also comes with 4 animals: a dolphin, a dog, a baby turtle and a clam with a surprise inside... Conclusion Design: 9/10 - A simple yet very good looking build. The colros are vibrant, and the amount of details is great. The car is a little too bulky, but it fits 4 minifigs and has still space left for a trunk. Parts: 8/10 - The part selection is nice, with lots of small parts and accessories. Playability: 8/10 - The set feature 2 shops, an appartment room, an outdoor loundge, a rooftop garden and a beach. There is a lot to do here, and the set provide lots of accessories. Minidols: 8/10 - The 4 minidols are nice, especially the two girls tops. Nora is exclusive to the set and Ava is only found in one other set. Price: 6/10 - With ppp of 0,10€ and 4 minidolls, this set seems a bit too pricey. But is is a very nice set. Overall: 39/50 (78%) - A really pleasant set, great looking and playable, with lots of activities for the minidolls. A nice amount of details and accessories really give life to the beachside shops.

[REVIEW] 41684 - Heartlake City Grand Hotel
Bob De Quatre replied to Bob De Quatre's topic in LEGO Town
And I was like "That % seems strange considering the individual scores... but math is math..." -
Set information Set Name: Heartlake City Grand Hotel Set Number: 41684 Number of Pieces: 1308 Theme: Friends Year Release: 06/2021 Prices: £89.99 / $99.99 / €99.99 (Euro prices may vary) #41684 on Brickset #41684 on Rebrickable Box and content The bow is quite big, with the front showing the Grand Hotel front facade, with inserts of the main play feature of the set: the seasonal accessories. The rear of the box shows the inside of the building and some detail shots. The box is almost full with 11 numbered bags of part, plus a bag with six 8x16 tan plates. Bags 9, 10 and 11 contain the seasonal accessories, one bag for each season... because there is only 3 seasons in the Friends world. The set comes with two instructions booklet. The bigger (235 pages) will guide you in building the Grand Hotel, while with the smaller one (28 pages) you'll build the outdoor dining area and decorate it and the hotel with your favorite seasonal accessories. There is also a big sheet of 22 stickers. Build The build is simple, and the instructions are clear and easy to follow, from the bottom to the top of the Grand Hotel. While building up the facades of a floor, the walls can get a bit flimsy, until you reach the top. The best building techniques are used in the windows, with the top most ones being built sideways, and the first floor ones being built upside down. The exteror of the Grand Hotel looks really good, with a lot of white detailing around the windows and doors. Bag 1: Bag 2: Bag 3: I think there is a flaw with the revolving doors, as there is a 1 plate high gap between the tile over the doors and the bottom plates of the floor above. Bag 4: Toilet seat right in front of the window... Bag 5: Bag 6: Bag 7: Bag 8: As said before, with bags 9 to 11, we can update the Grand Hotel with seasonal accessories. It took a bit of time if you want to go from one season to another and think the tree builds lacks a bit of branches. Minidolls The sets comes with 4 minidolls: Emma in evening dress, River in tuxedo, Stephanie as receptionnist and Amelia in almost the same outfit as seen in #41448 Heartlake City Movie Theater. Also included are 4 animals: a squirrel, a rabbit, a bird and a poodle dog. Conclusion Design: 7/10 - A simple build, but bonus point for the windows frame technique. More foliage would have been good to accentuates the different seasons. Parts: 6/10 - The part selection is rather average, plus you don't use all the parts at the same time due to the seasonal accessories. Playability: 8/10 - With 3 bedrooms, a piano room, a spa on the roof and an outdoor dining area, there is a lot to do in the Grand Hotel. Minidols: 8/10 - The 4 minidols are very nice and detailed especially Amelia's dress. Price: 7/10 - With ppp of 0,076€ and 4 minidolls, this set seems well priced. Overall: 36/50 (72%) - A good looking set that would make a great addition to any Friends display. The seasonal accessories idea is good but could have been pushed farther.

I was searching the internet for some SW control panels stickers... didn't expected to find theses gems here on EB Thanks for sharing.
