Bingo, couldn't have said it better myself. -
Thanks guys, here are the team leaders and a rough idea of their land type. Names of lands still coming. Northern chill - Sirens-of-titan Eastern Darklands - I Scream Clone Southern deserts - SI-Mocs Western grasslands - Derfel Cadarn All guild lands are joined by green forests/planes etc in the middle allowing all members to be able to contribute either the harsher remote environments or something closer to the middle of the world. More coming soon! At this stage I would like members to choose one of the groups, we will try to accomodate most requests, though we want it somewhat even as well. Angeli and Dr Rod have expressed an interest in joining the Eastern Darklands (name to come soon)

Not bad LT, I would have worked on the terrain, ground work a little more for myself, with some mottling, rocks etc. The scene itself is packed with action and nicely built. Come to the stone side! not stoned.... -
There is no need to necro 6 year old topics, please post in more relevant, recent topics.

Its coming along nicely guys, just give us a day or so to name the guilds, design a standard, and fill in the back story, which if I do say so myself is really exciting and cool Each guild will have its own pinned topic shortly for its members to mingle in and discuss ideas etc, anything secretive for the guild would be handled by PM of course
-
First post is updated with the Guild leaders, I think you will agree they are a great bunch to have as leaders Congrats to Sirens-of-titan, SI-Mocs and Derfel Cadarn for agreeing to join me as leaders! More members will be added to the first post as well People can of course move to a preferred guild if so. Let us know here.

Welcome to the conversation, lots to read through on the entire History forum, take a look around, comment on what you like, post your own reviews MOCs etc.Guild leaders have been chosen, head over to the first post in the sign up thread. -
A great effort on a map outlining the kingdoms of years gone by Viceroy! I may have need of your services for the Guild world map, shoot me a PM and we can sort through it all.

It would be cool to 'poach' people from other guilds time to time to build in the rogue guild Lets see if renegade bands spring up later on attempting this, like forming a quest group -

I like the idea of seasonal temperature zones, this way any characters can exist in said regions. So with this, and adding to the North South Easy West idea of Frozen North, Hot South, Darklands East, Greenery West This will allow all members to work in whatever characters they want. The Guilds will have a two colour standard/flag and with this out of the way I can start placing people in to the guilds. Even if you end up in the Icy or Sandy N or S, you can still use green baseplates, just be aware of the subtle weather differences in each as well, after all all the guilds will have neighboring lands with each other so they can all have trees etc. i am about to PM 3 potential guild leaders, and then we can move forward and start the ball rolling. Thanks SI, Sirens and Thrash for the massive ideas base to start from, and of course to B&W, and the rest of the guys for their thoughts as well. -
Looks to be coming along nicely, may I suggest a little moss mottling in the tower brick work to liven up the grey walls?

Between Sandy and WBDown, not to mention my own thoughts on the matter of the guilds I feel its best served to start with 4 guild groups of no real affiliation who can work as a team to inspire a common goal for their group at each challenge level, be it through common brainstorming, critique, photography skills, reviews, guild alliances etc. How does this sound? Each guild will have to devise a character/avatar for each member of the guild, any race, creed, etc is up for grabs. How then does you guild best interact in the castle world? What will they devise as a means for food and water? How will they protect their land? What types of devices will they invent? How will you barter with other guilds? Design a crest for your guild, Preferred habitat? etc Would this spark enough interest in all the members? Will each member be able to easily include members of their guild in a MOC or review? Do I need to put people of similar interests into the same guild for starters? Or can an Orc and human coexist with a dwarf? At this stage we need to move forward a little otherwise we run the risk of too many conflicting voices. At this stage for simplicity sake lets say the guilds are simply North-East-South-West, and then allegiances can be fleshed out within a guild of 6 members etc. Posted in both topics so hopefully clear and not missed.

"To Boldly Go Where Ice Green Is" something to do with a green 2x4 brick I believe, and maybe for suggesting the whole crazy 3004 overtake of Eurobricks

Though it's hard to put a finite point on any one part of this scheme Brickdoctor, we need to set a start point with an initial guild sign up. I do not wish to exclude any body along the way, and forsee people stepping in and out from time to time. The sky is the limit, until we run out of atmosphere By all means let's keep the ideas flowing. The guildmaster idea is intriguing. We could then ask a handful to step forward for each challenge. I think one of the first builds for each guild should be a watch tower, any other ideas? Nice find about the green wizard too Bearbeard. -
Cheers guys, I loved how IG88 came out, boba on the other hand doesn't quite work. I will hopefully get some close ups of the bounty hunters in the next day Back to my mouse droid hole now.

Castle Community Build Do you love the Historical themes? Castle crazy? Love MOCing? Then we need you to sign up for the Community build! Don't forget to vote in the poll to decide the names of the factions/guilds. Read all about the evolution of this project in the Historical Stimulus Package topic, some amazing ideas!

Origins of Historica The bard’s song tells a tale of a world long forgotten, Race against race, clan against clan, shields clashed with swords; long ago when Men of the Lion fought Men of the Falcon, and human armies succumbed to Orcs and undead. Each group clashed with its neighbor for power, unleashing upon the world a great scourge, and the arcane land was thrown into chaos. When it all seemed but lost, a council of wise men and sages was summoned. From all the lands they came to convene in the old world’s great city; the fortress of Cedrica. To settle the grievance and end a millennium of bloodshed, the sages declined all the treaties of old and joined all the clans into one mighty Kingdom; Historica. They founded the Four Great Regions- each one a realm in itself; - Mitgardia in the North, Nocturnus in the East, Kaliphlin in the South and Avalonia in the West, so that trade routes would spring up and clans would meet in the markets and not in the theatre of war. The wise men chose a family of great honor, to uphold the truce and to keep the four guilds from dispute, and descendants of that mighty kin to this day rule the Central lands of Historica. So goes the legend. For ten decades the races of old have migrated and spread through the world, following the trade routes, establishing cultures and prospering towns. Today, it is a world of wonder and natural beauty; a realm where a man and a woman may find peace. But peace is short lived… Treacherous assassins have tried to murder the King! The capital is in shock and there will be repercussions; the Four Regions assemble their forces as the balance of power shifts, and blame is passed around. For the first time in a century, the guilds of Historica build up old defenses and prepare for the inevitable confrontation; everything hangs in the balance, and Historica is on the verge of chaos once more… Guildsmen; this is the world you inhabit, this is the place where you will make your fortune, build a mighty empire and battle for the glory and honor of the banner… This thread is to be used for general discussions, questions on which guild to join, how to 'play', generic questions or inquires etc. All those wanting to join, your first task will be to; Create a Sigfig (a minifig representation of your character), take a picture of your sigfig. Create a short background story to go with you sigfig and post it and introduce yourself to your new guild in one of the four threads. (Note currently Avalonia is closed due to imbalance of participators). All guild members are encouraged to take part in the build challenges and discussions in the threads. For all builds (challenges or free builds) you may post WIP shots in your guild thread to gain assistance (highly recommended), but all completed MOCs should be posted in their own topic with the Guild name in the description and the guild standard in the MOC as well to classify as a Guild build. Lets see what you can come up with people! Guild members will earn points towards their team total with the ultimate guild reigning supreme over the kingdom (and maybe a prize or two along the way ) Guild Leaders Northern chill - Mitgardia - Sirens-of-Titan currently being run by Ecclesiastes Eastern Darklands - Nocturnus - I Scream Clone Southern deserts - Kaliphlin - SI-Mocs Western grasslands - Avalonia - Derfel Cadarn currently being run by ZCerberus Edit: Guild rosters can be found on each guild page Also check out the Historica facts and Location page and the GoH Wiki for some history of the guilds!

Well I finally found some time to do my build for AC Pins Community project. Its been ages since I built in the SW universe, but here goes.... No Disintegration's! One of my favourite scenes from all 6 movies. Cameos never looked so good! (Pics are linked to larger versions) Comments and constructive criticism welcome.

Off to a good start. I feel it could benefit from a bit more scenery, as it seems a little empty at the moment. The ground could use some colour variation showing mud etc.

Careful SI Mocs, I may make you Mod of all tallies Nothing stopping you making a topic in this forum highlighting the stop motion history stuff, you could simply edit new ones in to the first post An impressive project that may be diluted by other members contributions dude, but I look forward to it. At this stage I think we will look to start out with a Castle guild set up and branch into other themes from time to time to 'flex our muscles' somewhat. Sound good people? -

Just had a thought, all wizards and witches could be in the mystical guild. Should help fill it out. There is a whole forum on EB for stop motion work already. Nice work on the review too.
