mrblue - That's a cute little shunter! Can you make a video of it running with the lights on? And guys, how do you do that - you have white lights at the front and red ones at the back... Do you use 2 sets of lights? How do you have space for 2 sets of lights and how do you power them with only 1 battery box - I think you can only connect 1 motor + 1 set of lights?

Hello! I recently bought my first LEGO train... I'm an AFOL and my favourite themes are Castle and Pirates, but now that I have this train - 7938, I start to understand the passion of LEGO train fans. Currently I have only 7938 plus lights and the pack of straight and curved rails. I guess I will buy 7895 Switching Tracks soon as well. I made this video with my stuff, have a look if you wish: (HD also available).

The best LEGO sets are from the '80s and early '90s - the design is a bit simplistic by today's standarts, but actually the structures looked more finished, not like a wall of several bricks being described as a castle or something like that. '80s Castle, Pirates, Classic Space - great themes. I do miss the old times, but these old sets are still in my room And btw back in the day, LEGO had more printed pieces and fewer stickers! Yes, I love the new colours we have today, of course that's important.

Thanks for the review! The photos are great, but a bit small... and few in number. As for the set, it's very good that it's only civillians plus some Dragon Knights. The animals are great.

Great review! As for the set - as I don't like the POTC movies, this ship somehow isn't my type of LEGO ship... Red and black is a cool colour scheme, of course. But as a whole, I woudn't buy this set.

I keep all my LEGO boxes. Nowdays the boxes have become huge and I really don't like that, it's a waste of space and material.... It's really a problem to find enough place to store these giant boxes!
