  1. They must be ants, but I'm pretty convinced that what you think are the antennae, are the ants mandibles. A neat little set. Front
  2. Descent, you mean the pc-game that came out around '94 ? We played that via lan multiplayer on Uni. Was fun. I really loved that game, a real 3D experience. Well, looking at your moc, I think we are discussing the same game. The tail wings look kind of small, not sure if they are suppose to be that small. Other than that, great moc. I could imagine it would be fun building some of the enemy robots from that game. I also played Descent 2 single player only. I remember the red robots, I think they were the mean ones with homing missiles. Lol, the more I think back, the more I remember. Front
  3. A nice series of scenes. Those bodyguards at the news conference looks like not messing about. Front
  4. Thank you. You are welcome to "pm" me, if you'll like a larger version of some of the pictures. Here are some of the worst suspects. I had a bit of trouble getting my hand on these, as they are so deeply engraved in the criminal underworld. I got a gun, my boss got two. Run while you can: I'm so crazy with a gun in my hand, my boss is just plain crazy: Front

    Cannon Power

You surely need a spring with the same dimensions but with a slightly thicker thread, and/or a denser winding. That would increase the potential energy stored. Not sure where to find anything like that, but there should be manufactures doing stuff like this, which others (like Lego) use in their products. The task is to find such a manufacture that is willing to sell smaller quantities.
  6. Building is playing. Following official instructions or doing mocs, both are fun.
  7. Rayskull. I wanted to comment on your nice mocs, saying they look like great builds. Then I saw your last picture, the Rifter, and that one really looks awesome. I will have to study that one for a bit longer, trying to "copy" some of the cool methods you used in future mocs I hope you don't mind. Front
  8. Thank you all three for nice feedback. I still have the two models assembled, but think I'll soon try and rebuild the second one. In the meantime, Batman has been out driving the Bat-Tank, and he managed to damage the belt-drive. While that is beeing taken care of, I took some of the links from the damaged belt, and added it to bricks from the 7784. The Bat-Fat-Bike is here: The belts rotates on the circular bat-sign plates, but are unfortunately not fixed very well sideways, and can slide a bit left and right. Finally a view from the side: When Batman enter and exits the vehicle, he need a helping hand from the Butler, removing one of the 4x2 sloped bricks on the side of the cockpit. cheers Front
  9. Thank you for commenting. Lol, I think I completely forgot to add any weapons what so ever. The second weird one, at least got weapons. I guess I put this together, trying to make something out of those black half-arc bricks. It may look stupid but at least it's pretty sturdy. Front
  10. Batman can't drive the Batmobile (7784). In fact he can hardly change a tire on it. It's just too huge. I really like the 7784, it's got a huge selection of black bricks. Compared to a Technic set the functionality is poor. No steering, front wheels drive some gear-train inside the car for the looks only, and rear wheels drive the exhausts, which is just four orange "trees" mounted inside a jet-engine. The steering wheel control the bat-sign at the front of the car, which can flip up , revealing the two fans of the jet-engines. The set looks great assemblied though, is solid as a rock, and the weight is impressive. Now I've given Batman a Joker-Copter eliminator: The craft got a drop-shaped body, and seven engines. Here is a lower view: The cockpit lacks a glass-part, as there is none in the 7784 set. I've managed to build a protective cockpit anyway, with just a small hole for Batman to view the outside. You can spot Batman's blue mask in both the images above. Here the cockpit is opened: 7784 hosts a lot of bricks, so this craft below "comes for free": Still there are bricks left in the set, so I will put together another vehicle or two soon. Front
  11. I can only say that this tower is a true beauty, really looks great. Nice cone roof. Front
  12. This forum is infected by children who think that the new bionicles are crap, that the only true great are the earliest sets. I believe 99 % of all these statements are due to the fact that it looks cool to diss something, claiming official sets sucks, thereby implying that they themselves are great moc'ers. I see each day nearly every set produced since the start of the theme, and the newer sets are designwise superior to the elder ones. To be honest I'm really tired of listening to kids judging new Bionicle sets they have only seen in illegally leaked pictures in clearly bad picture quality, saying what looks great and what does not. And then 90 % go out and buy the sets when they appear, claming that yes the sets are crap, but that they will use the pieces for mocs. I have very rarely seen any Bionicle moc worth having on a shelve. They are usually completely overdone. rant over Front
  13. Thank you all for comments. I have taken these pictures here with my special 1x-5x macro lens, taken at 2x magnification. I really should have come up with more than just some pictures. I will be back when I get to make an alternative Batmobile (7784). Front
  14. They must have been made in two different moulds. Remember that the minifigure has been made for ages (since '78), before computer aided modelling was used. Front
  15. Here are my views on the Batman theme. I was attracted by the black bricks, the guns and the criminals. Just picked up some sets yesterday, Batboat, Bat-Tank and Batcave. Yesterday evening I watched the videos on lego.com Really cool made, fun watching. Boy I loved the penguins in those videos, shooting in the air like birds with a bad flu, lol. I just wished they made a more detailed model of the penguins. They deserve it *classic* Yeah, I'm aiming at you mr. bank manager It suit's my head, wouldn't you say ? I hope you feel comfortable, prepare to freeze MF BATMAN, you think these will hold me back ? FOOL If you ain't got money, you ain't worth it See, this gun got a right end and a wrong end, you're looking at the wrong end
  16. Try the other one too, and then try bit of different "shooting styles", and try the red missiles from one in the other blaster. If you can't get them to work, the blaster may have a fault. I would suggest that you try and get some new missiles from costumer service. They may fit the blaster better, but well it could be the blasters too :'-(
  17. Thank you :-$ The tall middle tower is actually just a built-in level to the original tower, plus an added floor level. It can be transformed back to the original in a minute. Maybe I should try some day and build a new tower "up from the ground". cheers Front
  18. Thank you for showing this set in details. I think the set look good. I like those black "tails" or what they are called. My experience with the blaster is that it works quite well. The trick when using it is to push the red part fast and swift, not slow. It does not require that much force, but speed indeed. I'm not sure how difficult it is to use for the smaller kids though. I am able to fire all six missiles fast and consistent one after the other, flying about 4 meters or more. I don't think the hole in the center of the red part is connected directly to the air chamber inside the blaster. At least I was able to make it shoot just as fine, while not covering this hole with my thumb (used two thumbs on the edges). I guess it's really not that practical to shot while it's mounted on this set though. Front
  19. Yes thank you. But to be honest, calling the cars you mention masterpieces, is really a strange statement. Some of these cars have so low assemble and driving qualities, compared to modern European or Japanese cars. American cars has been and still is so ROFL. Some like their appearence and the feel of american cars though. Front
  20. The first two are really eye-cathers. Well, the last is American :-D hmm, Mercury, is that British ? :-$ I could see a real nice hobby, building cars in this scale. Need lots of wheels and head-lights though. If you got more, please show *wub* Front
  21. In the Golden City, newly discovered by our heroes, there were preperations for the robot attack expected. The defence on the wall was being setup and checked. Everybody was busy, not that they were really expecting to use swords against the robots: The towers were shining, they better do so too tomorrow: btw. the last picture is a mix of three photos, I only got two sets |-/
  22. Thank you all three. Well the second picture is the official Lego aircraft, the rest are alternatives (the last two made by using two sets). I really only spent time making the 1st alternative, I think some more time is needed for better ones. I will add fottage from the Golden City skyline to this thread soon. cheers Front
  23. I noticed your avatar in your "Hi, it's me" thread, but forgot to comment. Your avatar looks great, and I'm glad to see it's actually a complete model done by yourself. Wow, nice work, cute face it got. Front
  24. A great review, thank you. I do not know these old sets like this one, but it is very cool to see how they were made. I have an un-opened 8421, maybe I should do a small review of that when I get to build it. btw. boxes are expensive, so at a given price point, it's a choise between more bricks or nicer boxes. I have no doubt what most people would chose. Front
  25. It was late night before dawn, and Meca One was preparing his robots for an early morning attack on the Golden City. The Devastators was ready to take off in their air attack vehicles. The engines of the prototype was started, it was to lead the others in the battle. The Compacter was expected to do devastating dives on the Golden City defenses. It had proven highly manueverable in tests. The Verticaler warming up. The Double Hinged was to follow the others, cleaning up any remains. The plan was that the Super Verticaler would land first in the city, to enable entrance to the Golden Tower. to be continued......
