LOTR trilogy - Howard Shore. Favourite is probably The Grey Havens or that Rohan theme. Revenge of the Sith - John Williams. He's given the sequel trilogy some great themes but Episode 3 stills tops it for me. Dunkirk - Hans Zimmer. Runner-up for me is his score for The Dark Knight Rises. Silver Linings Playbook - Danny Elfman.

Watched Sicario on Netflix this afternoon - I don't know how I missed this movie coming out in 2015.

Was gifted Dark Souls 3 on Steam, about an hour into it now.

Top Gun earlier today.

Currently Skyrim SE that someone gifted to me, with Dishonored 2 on backlog.

This bundle is quite possibly the best deal of games I've ever bought. I probably won't actually get to them all (only played BF2 so far), but it's good to have that collection.

The only recently EA-published game I've seen which doesn't squeeze money through pay-to-win is Titanfall 2, which is published by EA but developed by a separate developer (Respawn). Of course EA decided to release it in the same two week span as Battlefield 1, that terrible COD game, and Skyrim SE which leads me to think they wanted it to the tank. It's a shame though, cause Titanfall 2 is probably the best overall FPS of late 2016, but it never got that chance to build a great playerbase, especially on PC. Anyways, back to Star Wars - insert witty followup here.

That's good - if anything I prefer the combat stories of the Prequels over the OT so I'll keep an eye out for that.

If they do a remake of Battlefront 2 for this year or 2018 and it has no campaign, I'm definitely not getting it. BF 2015 I only bought because it was on sale for $20 CDN on Origin a couple weeks ago.

Realistically that will never happen - not enough serious appeal to the Western world. Metaphorically I will have lost all hope in Hollywood if something like that happens.

This is one of those social trends the pop culture industry should have never been able to think up a movie for.

I didn't put in a preorder for the Switch yet (went to sleep right after the presentation and they were all sold out in Canada by the morning); it's $400 CDN for the Switch and $80 for BOTW, which is a hefty sum of money. I weighed the option of buying a Wii U to play BOTW but it's going to be rendered obsolete by the Switch, so what's the point? Whatever, I have till March-April to make a decision anyways.

This game is going to be amazing.

I hope they don't; the series has already had Anakin/Vader as a redemption character, Ren should remain the irredeemable villain. Also given his dedication to a false ideal and killing his father, I find it hard to believe anything could convince him to turn back. Old age is honestly the best course, in my opinion - the least controversial and probably the most respectful way to do it. CGI should really be left out of this as well, if there's a cliff hanger in Episode 8 that hinges on Leia's appearance in 9 (i.e. do it off-screen).

Which new holes are you referring to, out of curiosity?

If anything, I think the accent actually enhanced his character - sneaky spy-ish guy running around, kind of like what you would see in old Western's.

Side note - one thing I think would have been nice to have more of in the movie was a stronger Krennic presence aboard the Death Star. It was cool to have CGI-Tarkin for fan service, but from the trailer I think Ben Mendelsohn would have pulled off an even more menacing character if Tarkin wasn't there undermining Krennic the whole time. The Krennic-Vader interaction would have been great as a Death Star vs. Force debate (i.e. in Trailer 2), rather than Krennic vying for support as commander of the Death Star. A flashback or two showing Jyn's past with Forest Whitaker's character would have been helpful in showing the audience some of that connection before she became a lone wolf criminal.
