That’s what I really love about the Star Wars Universe. There really is no limit to what you can go. Remember what we’ve seen in the SWU is all pretty much just one galaxy except for Outbound Flight and Yuuzhan Vong. So even if it’s too “BSG” there’s nothing to say that BSG isn’t just the next Galaxy over. That being said these are meant to be more Zodiac meets SWU but because of the similarity to BSG names I thought I’d let people know these aren’t designed with BSG in mind. You’ll be seeing Clones, Droids, Jedi, or Sith showing up as their pilots. This is kind of a “Rise of Rebellion” shot/MOC since these guys are wearing orange jumpsuits. But they could be smugglers, terrorists, or Bob & Judy on vacation.

Ah yes the Zodiac MOCer LIVES! Ok so I'm doing the Zodiac Killer meets BSG meets SWU. So since these ships are just going to be wild and unusual and mainly just for fun, I'm going to say they're the Clone Wars Era versions of these "well known" fighters. Here's that link to all things LEGO & TIE. ;) http://www.brickset.com/search/?query=TIE

Wooly crap I can't see a thing. Yeah you need to set up a little photo studio. Or even the best MOCs will look like crap-o-matic.

Very nice. I like the detail on the turrets. I struggled with that part on mine. Couldn’t find the right balance between size and detail.

I got 2 of these that Christmas! One from grandparents and one from my parents. I still remember the look on my grandpa's face as I opened my parents present first. A very shocked and confused look came over his face and then about 5 minutes later I realized why. It was one of the best Christmas' ever! About equal to the year I got the Woodsmen Hideout.

That's pretty easy. Average brick in Canada is/was about $0.10 CAD. MOC is roughly 20,000 pieces. 20,000 x $0.10 = $2000 CAD. $2 = $/£1. Therefore (2000 / 2) = $/£1000. However this MOC is built by using pieces form hundreds of TLC sets. Therefore if you were to buy each set used in it's construction... $$$ x $$$ = $$$!!! PS: Also note there's a lot pieces that were won via contests in this set, plus the time spent building it, etc. To turn around and sell this bad boy would cause sticker shook to about 99.1% of the people on this planet.

Ah yes I guess I may have missed posting that part here. It took about 7 hours to shred it and then another 6 hours for my wife and me sort the pieces so I decided not to count them. I figured it would be at least another 5-10 hours just counting and I wasn't going to waste a day doing that.

CRASH LANDING! Here she is the pile is about 4 inches deep in the centre. Here she is stripped to the deck. Also here's link to the WIP gallery if anyone is curious. http://s878.photobucket.com/albums/ab348/R...WIP%20Pictures/

Actually only 4 months but probably only an average of an hour a day at most. I would guess 60-120 hours. Didn't actually count this time. It is very heavy but I was able to pick it up to slide the white paper under it to shot pictures. I'm guessing around 60 lbs +/- 10 lbs. The bottom of the ship has 2 layers of inter-locking technics pieces with 6 layers of plates about every where like this: Plate Plate Technics Plate Plate Technics Plate Plate Simple I'm old. I have my two older borthers Lego, mine, and my wife's from our childhood. Plus almost 8 years now as adult. Buying Lego to feed the habit.

Ok so here's the moment you've all been waiting for... The CABG Venator! Meet the Maker: Rook is an administrator on a forum called Clone Army Builders Guild. The Guild is celebrating its 2nd Anniversary on January 8, 2010. As part of that Rook put has put together a unique community project. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ The Project: Part 1: Members posted their SigFig's and most everyone that participated in that part got into the WIP Project via comics/updates and are featured in various ways in the final project. Part 2: Members tried guessing the end date. Part 3: Members tried guessing how many pieces it took to make it. (We'll find out as count them when I shred it in early 2010.) Part 4: Members posted their Legion Logo and these are featured in various ways in the final project. Part 5: And finally this project was to raise community interest in building in general, and brotherhood for the love of these bricks. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Ship Stats Start date: August 24th, 2009 End date: December 24th, 2009 Length: 224 studs (about 5 feet and 7 inches) Width: 80 Height: 58 Current estimated number of pieces: +20,000 Number of minifigures: +113 Number of Lego designed items (Speeders, ships, etc.) in ship: 6 -- (2) ETA & (4) speeder bikes Number of Rook designed items (Speeders, ships, Defense bots, etc.): 13 -- 1 Troop transport, 4 speeder bikes, 4 bots, 2 sleds (Medial & Maintenance), & 2 escape pods. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Nose to tail list of what's left as far as final details: Point Room: Left side: Bar & Lounge Area Middle: Throne Room & Emergency Bridge Right side: Admirals Lounge Primary Main Hanger: Left side: Speeder bike storage area Middle: 1st ETA landing pad Right side: Speeder bike storage area Secondary Main Hanger: Left side: Briefing Room Middle: 2nd ETA landing pad Right side: Maintenance Bay Main Entrances: Left side: Middle: Access forward and back Right side: Main Cabin: Left side: 1st Area: Cargo Sled, 2nd Area: Cargo Storage, 3rd Area: Engine Room Middle: Open area Right side: 1st Area: Medical Speeder/Sled, 2nd Area: Medical Bay, 3rd Area: Engine Room Tail Section: Towers: Bridges: ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Finally you'll see in the gallery lots more pictures and towards the end on pages 5 & 6 you'll see some oddly plain pictures theses areas that I would liked to done more detail but didn't do to the amount of time this project was taking. Working on a single MOC for 4 months was difficult because during this time I was having tons of new ideas for smaller projects but couldn't do them due to the use of a lot of my bricks in this project. Gallery: http://s878.photobucket.com/albums/ab348/Rook2010/Venator/ Well that's it for now I hope you all enjoy it.

The Three Wisemen Sith... bringing gifts from afar.

The element is white with only some green "paint". So I'm hoping the host will let it slide. It's jst a group build, no prizes. So I can't image it being "disqualified".

Entries for a Clone Army Builders Guild, Group Build. The theme is Black & White and you're permitted to use grey elements as well. Thronos Fighter (Low Altitude) Thronos Air Speeder Gallery

Well said. The UCS was a kick to the coin purse. And the midi was a waste LEGO resources in pretty much every way I can currently think of.
-
Looks good. Your modifications are nicely done.
-
Need to work on resizing those JUMBO pictures.
-
Looks pretty nice. Make sure to use a better camera for the completed project.

The early 1999-2001, 3 minifigures w/ stands and card sets.

Thanks Kim. The 6-15th places were a nice bonus. At least we know now that we have work cut out for ourselves next time.
-
Kim, can you post who came in 4th & 5th? OR
-
The bridge isn't to scale with the rest of the ship. Looks like you had fun building it. 5 1/2 months! I guess you were probably waiting on pieces for a good portion of that time.
