Hi again and thanks for the comments. I am to move to a new house, where I won´t be able to have the base always assembled. But the base is modular, so I can assemble and disassemble it very quickly -or that´s what I hope-. Anyway, I have upgraded many buildings in the base. One of them was the energy generators building. It has been enlarged to fit UNDER the bunker where the shield generators are. So it is a higher building, which makes easier the construction of a command tower. Here are the pics. There will be an elevator that will communicate both floors of the building. The generators have also been modified, as so many trans-light bars made it look as something "not serious". The "hospital" has been modified too. It fits in a 48x48 baseplate and it is wider than the previous one. The operations room is larger, the doctor´s room is larger also, as it is the patient´s room -where the very ill or injured patients receive medial treatment- Sorry for the mess in the hospital, but the workers did not clean the facilities for this report!!! I hope you like it. When I have finished the move, I will remodifie more buildings. Enjoy!!!!!

If you mean the outer fence, in black, I used 12-stud axles but there are parts that would fit better, for example: I suppose you were asking about that. Regards!

You can get ideas from my Imperial Base, for the kind of buildings you would need and so on. Regards and luck in your construction.

I tell you the situation in Spain... Normal price for the superpack is 60 euros. If you have the checks of "Toys R Us", it would come down to 54 euros. The normal price for a 8017 is 36 euros, and 13 for 7667 and 7668, which makes 62 euros, and if you have the checks it would come down to 56 euros. That depends on you, but I think that any sale on that super pack would make it suitable for buying. Enjoy!

New pic. The bunker holding the shield generator is very advanced in its construction. It will also hold a control tower. As you can imagine, the tower must be increased in height and the external appearance will be different -dark bluish gray bricks-. Other important subject. As this bunker is in the middle of the base, and the base will be torn to pieces as I move to another house...I had to build a floor for the bunker. In a future...I will be able to fix the base again to show it to you. I have also begun the construction of the second floor of the snowtroopers´barracks. I hope you like it!! Enjoy!

Thanks for the comments!! BigCam, indeed, it is massive. 1,6 x 1,6 metres is enormous. And heavy. Lifting it, even with the system I built is difficult because the room is not as big as I would like. Thanks for following the topic so long -months and months-. Commander, you are right. This is a dream that I had in the summer of 2008. And I began with it in autumn of that year. I tried to make something ""real"". I mean, If you build barracks, the soldiers must have beds, showers, restrooms, etc. A "hospital" with a medical droid -yes, the idea is to keep pretending soldiers away from the hospital-. You say about building a guard tower. There will be a big control tower -like in an airport- in the center of the base, on the bunker (copy of the set 8038), which holds the 8 orange deflector shield reactor. About lights...there will be lights. If you look carefully at the center-left of the pic, you will find a series of yellow bars. There will be one of the landing pads for the dropships -medical dropships-. That landing pad will have 4 light towers to make landings easier. Starwarsfanatic, the parts I left are not parts for the immediate construction...it´s just I was too tired to take so many parts and boxes away to make the picture...but some stormtroopers -or snowtroopers- in the pic with some tools would be a good idea. And now, some of the future "inhabitants" of my base -only snowtroopers, AT-ST drivers, dropship drivers and other enlisted personnel or droids are not here-. If there is any rebel, pirate or enemy of the Empire, I suggest you should not attack this base!!!!!!!! Enjoy.

Another post concerning the WIP. I try to focus the topic both here and Hispalug, so everybody can enjoy the construcion of the base. The defense of the base is an important issue for a Base Commander (and for the builder also). And that is why I made 4 quad-gun turrets, both for AA and land targets. Two pics, the upper one is to show the guns at maximum angle -AA mode- and the lower one is to show the lowest possible angle to deal with targets at point blank. For many weeks I have not posted anything. A big shipment of parts was lost and I have been the last two months in the USA, so nothing has been built since the end of July. But now -and only for 4 days- I am at home to post something for you. I have created a horrifying medic droid. Why so horrifying and ugly? A good looking Imperial Navy medic (male or female, I don´t mind) would increase the number of visits to the doctor´s office. So I decided that If the absence periods are to be lowered...bring a droid that only those who really need medical treatment want to use it. I hope you like it. I also created two interesting machines to deal with the work in the hangar. The first one is a machine to board the AT-STs. This is to move the AT-STs from the main gate to their pads in the hangar, or to move them to the repairing area in the hangar. And the last pic, and I suppose the one you wanted to see... Enjoy!

Ok, I understand it now. Well, my project is simple. Just a big building with some areas : at-st pads, speeder bikes pads and repair area. The dropships will be in a higher level and will be able to land on the roof of the buildings. Those roofs will have elevators that will allow the soldiers to board the dropships quickly. For example, for MEDEVACS, there will be a landing pad on the hospital roof. It is my project and idea. Hope to build it! Thanks for the comments.

About the doors, I have the scheme of its construction. It will be a sliding door which will be placed in the front. When it is open, It will lay in a side of the hangar. Thanks for the comments!

Yes, you are right. It looks bulky but I will add many interesting gadgets. 4 Anti-vehicle 4-gun turrets (finished). On each "dome" in the perimeter fence I will place anti-personnel lasers. I will have to add some lamps -snowtroopers are men, not cats, and they can´t see in the dark-, some antennas, some dishes to simulate shield generators. Many things to make it more attractive. If you dare to destroy it, desist thinking it. It will be well protected!! Thanks!

Thanks for the comments. Darth, there will be to "energy" buildings. The reactor building, already constructed, in which the energy reactors are placed. There will be a kind of "Endor bunker" with the shield generator for the base. Inside the building I will try to recreate a realistic generator. Outside, over the command tower, I will place a big dish recreating the shield antenna seen on Ep VI in the base. Yes, the tables should be white. I will take into account that feature about the tables. Thanks!

Update of the Base for today. The hospital, the prison, the command building and the reactors have their roof. Of course, many of the buildings must be completed inside. Enjoy!!!!

The garage/hangar should be were the AT-STs are. In the lower right corner as you see the pic. I suppose I will add an upper landing pad for the dropships -those from set 7667-. Greetings and enjoy!

Have a real photo of the base. This pic is not actual, but you can imagine what it could become. The only thing I really changed was the Tie Crawlers. None of them will serve in the base. There is not enough room for them. Maybe, in a foreseeable future, if the base is extended to 4 x 5/6 baseplates, with a bigger hangar...I could even place the "cat" (my 60-cm tall AT-AT), the TIE Crawler and the AT-ST. Enjoy!

Ok, I agree with you. For example, the transparent parts should be of one colour. Which? I suppose a trans dark blue or trans blue would be fine. But I don´t have them. The yellow one is not very good. It makes the reactor look like a fair amusing machine, with lots of lights...I could change many colours of the transparent parts. The fence you say, ok, there will be a building surrounding the reactors, so they will be protected. Inside the building there won´t be any other fence, wall or barrier. I go on with the works already done in the base. Energy is one of the most important subjects in a big structure. I didn´t know where I could get an inspiration. Even I disassembled a broken power source of my computer. But I found many interesting parts: in black. Many, many interesting round plates in trans red, orange... Many round bricks 4x4. And many other bar trans red, yellow and red. Many round bricks and cones 1x1. So I decided to mix them... And this is what I got. These reactors provide energy for the base, for the shield and for the defensive systems. If you have any interesting idea, share it with us!! Enjoy.

Yes, that was my idea. A permanent Imperial Base in a cold planet. Fighting pirates, smugglers and...other enemies of old wars. I promised you pics of the turrets. Fortunately, the turrets allow a wide arc, so they can be used against air and ground targets. How did I get such arc? I hope you enjoy it. Another day I will post something about the reactors.
