  1. Here's LEGO's statement: http://www.lego.com/eng/info/default.asp?page=environment The Environment Ever since it was founded in 1932, the LEGO Group has focused on the environment in everything it does. In the LEGO Group we are environmentally conscious and see it as our coresponsibility to minimize the waste and energy used during the manufacturing process, avoiding materials which cause toxic substances and fumes, and are harmful for your child, our employees and the environment. The LEGO Group will incorporate the global ISO 14001 certification, which are uniform environmental standards, in all of our activities, in all areas and at all levels of the Group. LEGO Group Environment Policy 26 Kb Environmental responsibility The responsibility towards the environment is deeply rooted in the LEGO Group. Before we use new raw materials in our production, they are tested for their effect on the environment both inside and outside the company. We reuse the plastic material, and this result in less than 1 per cent of the total plastic material use ends up as waste. Furthermore, we ensure that none of our employees are exposed to toxic substances and fumes that can damage their health or safety. We consider ourselves being environmental responsible. The motto of the founder of LEGO A/S, Ole Kirk Christiansen,”Only the best is good enough” is still our basic guideline. That is why we continuously seek to become better in the minimisation of environmental impacts.
  2. Welcome aboard! They do put together some awesome MOCs around here, don't they?
  3. And so April Fool's Day begins... ;-)
  4. Looks like I'm about 191 in bricks... and also realizing just how poor my math skills are. >:-( Tacitus.
  5. I suggest going to www.brickset.com Tacitus.
  6. That's some great MOD-ing. I've always thought that the last police station had a lot of potential, and you've made it happen. The interior detail is great. I really like that you've turned the rooms into functional rooms be making them deeper and connecting them together as one would expect in a real building. Have you tried modifying Arkham, yet? That's been my pet project, though I have not had any time to spend on it.
  7. That was what I thought when I first saw it- it's gotta be a type-o, right? Well, maybe you pay extra for all the glue that they use to make the board... unless this is actually a build-it yourself chess set.
  8. I totally agree with Tarful: Modular sets! But I'd take the Mos Eisley cantina over the Jedi Temple.
  9. Tough question. I think I'd have to go with the 3rd, and most recent, version of Slave One. The colors are right, the scale and dimensions are reasonably accurate, and it comes with two other bounty hunters.
  10. I just saw the chess set listed as "coming soon" on the US Lego SAH. It was priced at $299.00! That's just insane. All the mini-figures are great, but for $300???
  11. Daredevil, even before Bendis did his run on the series. And Captain America, before they killed him. I used to be a big fan of Wolverine, but he has fallen out of favor...probably because they keep altering the character. That, and he was totally over exposed. But, I have to say that right now, I'm more into DC than Marvel.
  12. I was surprised at the lower price point compared to the other impulse sets. Think this set will be a polybag set like they used to have years ago?
  13. Cool! This reminds me of something you would see in that old SNES version of Final Fantasy III, which add a lot of streampunk elements to the fantasy world.
  14. I'd have to go with a Bantha, since Tusken Raiders are my favorite. A rancor would be cool, too, but I'd want it to have a mini-figure-eating action feature.
  15. On the bright side, at least it was only the whip, and not a troll arm.
  16. Looking at the photos makes me totally miss the classic crater and landing-pad baseplates. I hope LEGO brings them back.
  17. You make me look so lazy. All my interiors are empty. My Cafe Corner is a sad and desolate place. The little details, as simple as the cutting board in the kitchen, really show how much thought you put into it. I'm afraid I'm going to have to steal some of your ideas.
  18. True but one thing is missing so far: the hero !! We need a hero to rescue a hot princess !! We do have the Queen so definitly not her :-D But we'll have a broomed hottie with the advent calendar !! We need a hero now !! We only have factions and 2 leaders (1 good, 1 bad). And I said a hero, not a jellybean sissy :-P *yoda* What's this about an advent calendar? Is there really going to be a Castle themed advent calendar?
  19. Okay, I have to ask: how did you construct the lectern? I can't figure out how you got the top 1x1's to stick at an angle to the 3 little wedges.
  20. Amon Tobin- Foley Room.
  21. Snape was in love with Harry's mother, so in a world of absolutes, he would be considered "straight." But, regardless, I doubt that Snape ever loved a good parade. Back on topic, its a great MOC. I passed it on to a couple of my friends who marched last year.
  22. Oi! I can't believe I just read all 7 pages of this goofy thread, but that line made it worth it. :-D
  23. That's kind of cool. But would it have killed the guy to dust off the bricks a little bit before the photos were taken? The dirty black plates detracted from the look of the creation. I see that a lot in Brickshelf.
  24. I dig the idea of an army, but I just keep thinking about it in terms of storage. If it's just going to end up in a box in the basement, then what's the point, right? Of course, that line of reasoning doesn't actually stop me from buying more sets...it just delays it.
