  1. Solution applied.
  2. It took me nearly 12 months to finally sign up here. So, registering on Brickshelf? You're asking a lot! X-D
  3. If memory serves, the resizing tutorial does not apply to my OS. I can resize the image just fine, the trick is getting the file size down to the acceptable parameters. Like I wrote, I can shrink it all I want, but I can't seem to break through the 76kb wall. I'll keep tinkering.
  4. So, what's the trick to getting the file size down to acceptable limits? I can't seem to reduce anything lower than 84kb, which is much to big for the avatar limit. :-/
  5. I read those same reviews, too, before I bought it. But when I built it, I didn't have any problems. I don't see it as being anymore fragile than one of the Cafe Corner floors, which were several plates held together by 2x8's. I won't say that it is the best thing LEGO has produced, but I don't regret buying it. And, since it is basically a hollow structure, it has a lot of room for interior modifications. Tacitus.
  6. Oh, that's a tough call. I think that while I like the Indy minifigure best, the Adventurers as a series is better. I see the Indy line as being limited by the movies, whereas the Adventurers could go anywhere. But hopefully the Indy line will become an Adventurer-like series.
  7. Cool...Reminds me of the landing craft in Aliens. I like the panoramic cockpit window.
  8. I think they took steps in the right direction with the old Cloud City exclusive set, the Cantina, and even Sandcrawler. But yes, it would be nice if LEGO produced a wider variety from the Star Wars universe. A modular cantina set would be cool- a number of small sets that could be merged together. I, for one, am getting bored with all the space ships. But, in the end, it is all about playability. So, as neat as Dex's Diner would be, I think kids would find it boring. But if that SpongeBob stuff can sell, why can't a diner?
  9. Wow! That's a lot of black tiles. This is a really cool scene. I think that, like everyone else who has responded, the flaming oil is my favorite part, especially since you followed through with the inclusion of the trans-orange head on the minifigure.
  10. It's really a lot of fun. I particularly like all the little details- like the dead soldier on the barricade. Good luck!
  11. :'-( Man, the only Aussie bands that come to mind came and went during the 80's, although I do know the Presets. Whatever happened to Midnight Oil?
  12. I seem to have watched more movies in the last two weeks than I have in several months. No Country for Old Men, which I thought was beautiful...and it was a movie that I kept thinking about days later, which makes it all the better. Curse of the Black Scorpion. I may have the title incorrect. It was a Chinese cinema movie in line with Crouching Tiger. Just as gorgeous to look at, but not as interesting. Think of it as a Imperial version of Hamlet. 3:10 to Yuma. Very Good, if not predictable. Nobody shaves in the Wild West. Or bathes. Darjeeling Limited. It was very much in line with the director's previous films. So, it was good. I could have done without the "poignant" classic rock, and the overdone slow motion shots, but that's Wes Anderson's style, I suppose. Oh, and I just saw Hitman, which in theory is really a stupid movie, but I thought it totally rocked. Tacitus.
  13. I remember seeing this last year. Awesome! Tacitus.
  14. Yeah, they really need to release more Dwarves. Maybe they think that the playability is limited because they lack hip joints. Perhaps we'll get lucky and they will release a Dwarves+Elves battle pack next year.
  15. I think it is certainly an improvement over the official Batcave set, which wasn't so much a cave as a set of platforms. Your MOC makes it look like a cave environment. The sewer tunnel looks great, as does the Bat-computer above it. Does the tunnel fit any of the water vehicles? My only two criticisms would be that the dinosaur, although fun, looks like an after-thought, and the inclusion of the Wayne Manor facade breaks up the cohesion of the cave modules. When the two cave modules are linked together (as on your website), and the Manor is absent, it looks much cooler. Maybe build up the Manor as a separate stand alone set? Tacitus.
  16. I'm not totally keen on the gun aspect of the set, either, but it is still a fun set. The goblin-powered battle wheel of doom is such an absurd concept that you just can't pass it up! It reminds me of something you'd see in that old David Bowie/Jennifer Connelly film, Labyrinth.
  17. Greetings. I've been lurking about Eurobricks for quite some time, putting off signing up. So, I've finally made myself do it. I'll try an get up a sigfig avatar in the near future. I've been a LEGO fan since the 80's. I can't say that I've ever really had a Dark Age per se, but there have certainly been lulls here and there. I think that the new Castle line is absolutely my favorite. I also pick up Star Wars, Indiana Jones (and the Adventurers before that), and Batman. And with the fantastic town models, like Cafe Corner, etc., I'm even buying into some town stuff... besides, it gives Batman somewhere to go. Oh, and I even find myself picking up some Exo-Force for reasons that I can't quite explain. I have to say to all of you who have been showing off your MOCs and contest entries here: they are all really great! I'm jealous of the building skills I've seen here. Tacitus *skull*
