  1. I think it is still going through the moderation process. Since I'm new to the whole Brickshelf thing, I'm not sure how long the turn around time is.
  2. I didn't know that they had a construction kit. Nice. I have the Darth Maul double-blade lightsaber.
  3. Hi all. I typically find that with many official LEGO sets, the original model is cool, whether in concept or form, but it doesn't always go that extra step. The Mistlands Tower and the King's Castle are two good examples. The tower was a neat idea, especially with the blacksmith, but the model made no sense. The King's Castle was a cool model, but it had some design flaws. So, last summer, I decided to put the two together to see what I would get. I got something that I like to think of as the King's Citadel. At the core, it is still basically the King's Castle, but I added two floors to the central tower, and a stairway that leads from the ground level up to the second floor throne room. Anyway, I thought I'd post it here before I take it apart. Take a look: Come on in: Blacksmith in his tower: Second and third floors, with door leading into King's room: Surly king: And the two levels are modular, for easy access to the ground floor, and the King's chamber. So, here's a shot looking into the King's chamber. Oh yes, complete with trap door. The Wizard's room connects to the King's room, which has been removed here: Anyway, here's the link to the rest of the images: http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?f=316246 Enjoy! Tacitus.
  4. Thanks! I agree on the colors. You've just exposed the limits of my brick collection. I started running out of greys, and thought: what else do I have that looks like dirt?
  5. Yeah, I think I like the Mutt hair on Han. I've always thought that the original hair was a little too conservative for the scoundral. It was as if he was the captain of the Millenium Accouting Office.
  6. Taken care of. I didn't notice the image link tab on the post screen, so I had been pasting the old fashioned way. Tacitus.
  7. I thought I'd finally get around to posted my own version of the Mine. I think of it more as a WIP than anything else, and that will probably become obvious in the photos, as will those places where I lacked the ideal bricks. Of course, the more I look at it, the more I want to re-do it. The file sizes are just a little too big for an attachment, so I'll post the links to brickshelf. Like most of you, I think, I never liked the fact that the mine wasn't really a mine, so I built up the front to make it more rocky. Both sides are modular. The flames appearing from the left side are meant to be the exhaust stacks from the blacksmith's furnace. Here's an shot of an inner wall with a dwarf at work. Another angle. I like the staircase. Anyway, when the gallery is public, please check out the other photos. http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?f=316116 And comments/criticism are always appreciated. Oh, and forgive the photo quality. I had some lighting issues, and the flash couldn't be avoided. Tacitus. *Finally figured out the image-link system...sorry for the inconvenience.
  8. Hey, that looks really nice, and spot on! It looks like a pretty straight forward build, too. So, given what I've seen of your building skills, this took you, what, five minutes?
  9. I think that the Jitney is the best one. Now, how about a Skull base? Or are they just nomads?
  10. I think that the terrain is the best part. Very cool. I clearly need more bley bricks and slopes.
  11. It all depends on what your end goal is. Do you want a collection of ships? Or do you want to build an army? I would probably do something in between, like get two or three battle packs, and then get the Rogue Shadow.
  12. I, too, was totally annoyed by the fact that the Apprentice couldn't ride around with Juno...especially since that is a key feature of the Unleashed storyline. So, your mod is one that I was also planning to do, too. I modified the roof in the same way you did to see if it would open and close the same way, but that was as far as I got, having only regular bricks to add to the cabin, which didn't look right. I'm taking a cue from your MOD, and finishing up what I started. Thanks for the swift kick! Now, if only that inverted slope piece would arrive in the mail...
  13. Man. And here I thought my layout was chaotic. Lots of fun, guys! Love the head in the jar.
  14. I knew what you were talking about, and actually recognized all the characters and vehicles. But, where is the Master of the Universe, himself? And Skeletor?
  15. Add a few goat heads, and you've got Fabuland!

Hey, that's a pretty good rendition of the Clone Wars era fighter! ...But, yeah, why Anakin would need giant intake jets for outer space travel is beyond me...
  17. Am I right in thinking that the next wave of Mars Mission sets will have jellies with movable arms?
  18. That's really cute. I love the organic texture of the exterior.
  19. Funny! Of course, it is sad that I had to look up the word "nosh," not having ever seen it before...
  20. All this talk of LEGO boobies and hooking up with LEGO and virtual elf women aside, the customs are very good. I think that the V2 fits the elf theme nicely in that LOTR kind of way. And, in contrast to others, I think it is the details of the torso decal that make it uniquely elf-like in that art nouveau kind of way. V1, however, looks more Arabian Nights, but that could be due to the Ninja princess head with the big eyelashes/extra eye make-up.
  21. That's what I was thinking, also having been a former TRU employee, when I saw Deino's first post. Typically the LEGO reps. were responsible for putting out new product when I was there. So, this could be a Wal-Mart employee's mistake. But, if more Indy sets pop up this week, maybe Wal-Mart got the green-light from LEGO to put the sets out early, similar to the deal that TRU seems to have with other LEGO lines. I guess I'll be checking out Wal-Mart this week, too... but man, I dread going into that place.
  22. I agree with everyone else's comments. I'm almost tempted to say that I like it better than the official sets. Unrelated- it occurs to me, as I look at the forum banner, will the Space Skulls ally themselves with the Space Trolls? And what would a Space Troll starship look like?
  23. Go to Lego Shop at Home via lego.com, and sign up. Just that simple.
  24. While I'm really happy that the new minifigure elements have finally been made available, the price hike is pretty lame. >:-( Has LEGO made public their reasons for the price increases, like high petroleum costs, etc? $30 for the baseplate, when a large green one is only 4.99, has got to be a mistake...or maybe it is a magical plate that does the building for you.
