  1. Same here, I didn't even know about any of this supposed lore until I got online 15 yearse ago so none of it means anything to me.
  2. If you're insecure and need a man leading your pirates that badly then Redbeard is only like 7 bucks on bricklink.
  3. What a beautiful set. Only downsides are the monkey and palm tree, fortunately I have plenty of old ones of both so they're easily replaced.
  4. I'd rather they just re-use the lion knights or black falcons than a dragon master without the helmet and plumes.
  5. I apologize if it came across as rude but I stand by what I said, there's no way you're getting 2009 prices for sets in 2023 and it's much cheaper to use PaB if you're army building.
  6. It's not 2009 anymore. There's no way Lego in 2023 would make boxed sets that are cheaper than what polybags currently are. I think it's pretty obvious at this point that Lego doesn't think pirate sets sell to anyone other than 80s and 90s kids so I doubt we'll ever see another theme.
  7. Cheapest sets you can get now are polybags, and those retail for $5 USD. Cheapest pirate/soldier minifig you can build currently costs ~$2.50 USD, so yeah they're cheaper. I figured it out using a rough approximation of a soldier(that shield with the castle knight increases the price by a lot): (Just realized I forgot the epaulettes but that's only about 10 cents more) Free shipping threshold is $35 so that's about 15 figs. if you were to spend $35 on polybags you'd get 7 minifigs. Should also note I don't really care about what kids can or can't buy(that's Lego's problem, not mine), I'm looking at this from an afol army builder's perspective.
  8. No, not really.
  9. Personally I'd rather just buy minifig pieces direct from PaB, much cheaper than "cheap" sets for army building.
  10. I consider Vikings to be part of Castle, so yes. I don't care for fleshies so the D&D set will have to have a very impressive build to get me to consider buying it.
  11. They can want that all they want, but I'm not buying any sets that aren't castle, pirates or space.
  12. I couldn't care less what specific set it is as long as it's a pirates set.
  13. No, that one was medium nougat hair, the one in the Peter Pan set is reddish brown hair. https://www.bricklink.com/catalogItemIn.asp?P=67043pb01&in=A
  14. Wow they even used the old school dragon, nice little easter egg.
  15. Guess we're only getting half of Eldorado Fortress if we're basing it on that set.
  16. So used to seeing harness prints that the horse mould just doesn't look right without a harness print.
  17. I have so many old torsos that are broken that I don't think Lego's quality has gone as downhill as people like to claim.
  18. Nah, I'm good. 80s and 90s lego had the best set photography is all I wanted to say.
  19. Frankly neither set is all that great, but 6270 has the far better photography, which makes me inclined to like it more.
  20. Just to save everyone's time: courtesy: https://www.newelementary.com/2023/05/lego-parts-review-71799-ninjago-city.html
  21. Third Ugly Rock Piece or Tiny Ugly Rock Piece, but hey, that works too.
  22. Sure, as support behind everything where you can't see a trace of it. That's because it is'nt. This is a BURP: This is a LURP: This one never really earned a name but I call it the TURP:
  23. No thanks! Adult collectors sets shouldn't have BURPS in them.
  24. Could also be used with a tricorne w/hair.
