  1. What a interesting scene! The use of the wizard hat is very creative. I love it !
  2. Thank you for all your kind words guys. I really wish I can reply each one of you individually but I got home from work very late these days and I need to save myself some bed time (it's 2:40am in Hong Kong). I hope you guys won't mind if I just say a few quick words. To Asya & Bobby Otters: I look forward to see your building, too! "Tommy" kinda exhausted my ideas and I think I will have hard time for a new building. I built the Antique Store quite a long time ago, now I start to find all my previous buildings not up to my new standard... To Natman8000: Talking about the colors, I am glad that no one complained about the color scheme being exactly the same as the Cafe Corner! To Raven Brickroft: The red chair is sadly not attached, so is the cylinder piece underneath it. Therefore, the chair is not stable at all and the 2 floating parts dislocate easily. It took me some time to adjust the minifig and the chair to take my profile pic. To BlueBard: The shop front window is also one of my favourite features of the shop! To ACCURATEin: I just wish I can do better next time! To benny: Sorry to disappoint you but I guess I won't be doing Nike for the time being. A Nike shop should have basketball, football and sportswear, etc. but I don't want to do another shop with clothes for now. I actually considered doing an Outdoor Equipment shop, selling climbing gears from the adventurers sets, parka from the artic sets, etc., but I picked "Tommy" in the end. Once again, thanks for reading and replying, I am so motivated!
  3. "At the front of the bike, it allow the rider to steer left and right. However, if the rider's arms is holding onto the handles, it can only move straight." So true! I love reading your review. I own a few tri-motorbikes from the Community Workers set but I never use them. I still miss the old motorcycle, I hope it wins the race!

    MOC: Surgery

I like your surgeon, the IJ soldier green suit looks really ideal for a doctor's gown. I wonder how you would make a nurse to assist him.
  5. Thanks Aliencat. If you look carefully, the thin linings on the sides are actually illusion. They are 1x1 reddish brown bricks partially hidden by tan 1 x 2 x 1 panels. Here's a WIP picture showing an alternative way of making the linings:
  6. Thanks for blogging this WhiteFang, I am really honoured. I wish she would inspire more great modular MOCs from the community, I am now having a headache planning for its successor though. Thanks Zorro, I am thinking about the building's successor but I guess I will need some time to gather the parts (I ran out of plates and brown bricks when I finished the building) and to actually build it (Horribly busy at work, sigh...). Thanks blueandwhite, I have been trying to do modular MOC facades differently from others and this is my third trial for a 32 studs wide non-corner building. I always find filling this 32 wide space a big challenge, there is too much space to make a unique facade while keeping the design in control. I am glad that the end result looks "official", you can't believe how amateur the work in progress pictures look like. Thank you Freddie! The attic for a third floor is a nice idea, I just didn't think about it. I simply took the drums out when I thought they are too large. I actually went back to check but there's actually not enough room due to the tall windows. Thanks prateek, the brown shelf is the result of my site visit(that's shopping... ) and internet search. As for the chair, I am please with its look but not sturdiness. The cyclinder piece and the red chair pieces are merely stacked on top of a dish, but I just can't come up with a better solution for it . A full street view is quite difficult, if not impossible, for me now, I am having trouble even storing this one. I will see what I can do.
  7. Thanks for your compliments! Thanks! The clock is inspired by the Town Hall by James Berard, the creator of the Cafe Corner set. Here's a link to the Town Hall picture: http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/SideShow...wnHall/th07.jpg Thanks! I actually used this part as a pot in my last MOC also, thanks to the recent Star Wars set, getting these pots isn't very difficult. Thanks! I had been thinking about doing a fashion store for sometime, I knew I have to make a Tommy store the moment I see the new Pirates Soldier impulse set.
  8. Opps...I think I will have to do more research next time... haha, just pretend you didn't see the second one...
  9. B-OM-7C To enhance the existing modular building line, the LEGO Company announced a new license agreement today with Tommy Hilf…OK, I am lying. It’s been a long time since my last posts here as I have been kept busy at work. I am proud to present to you my latest modular creation, a Tommy Hilfiger™ store (I am not sure if I can use the TH name here, I guess as long as I am not making money with it, I am ok, right?). In contrast with my previous works, she is my first fully furnished 32 studs wide building and utilizes significantly less “SNOT” techniques. The Ground Floor Shop interior is loosely based on my visits to an actual store, I don’t think they use navy blue carpet, but who cares? Where’s the fitting room? Opps…I left it out. The Upper Floor Hey…the furniture pieces look familiar! You are right. Most of them are posted before! I once thought of making this floor a study, a huge dining hall, and even a music room, but I think this is the best place for my contemporary furniture. The Roof The Backyard Street view More photos on my brickshelf and flickr: http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?f=374686 http://www.flickr.com/photos/jaredchan/set...57615717779802/ Thanks for watching, comments are always welcome! P.S. Disappointed by the use of previously published furniture as upper floor interior? Check out the Drum set that didn’t make it here: http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=27053
  10. B-V-14A This little drum set is perfect for any minifig party and band room. I am pretty happy about its look but not its size, its too big for my modular houses, but I guess you would agree that its good enough to be a stand alone piece. Thanks for watching, comments are always welcome!
  11. Nice flowers! I wish you all a Happy New Year!
  12. I have completed the survey also, thanks for highlighting this CopMike! As I have a record of my LEGO spending, the spending questions are not difficult for me, but I am really alarmed by the figures .
  13. I agree with FreeBee and I guess that the blog may not be well known to non-EB members. I voted for "MOCs from the Lego Community" as it's always good to see what others are building and to learn from them. I guess a building contest would be great...The success of the Pillage the Village contest is really overwhelming!
  14. What a pleasant surprise! Thanks EB!
  15. Thanks!
  16. Yeah! I think I am eligible! Please count me in!
  17. Thanks man !
  18. Here's the fan dissected! As for the couch...it shall remain a secret for now... I actually need 2 more 2x2 black tiles to finish it, hehe... Thanks! There's no need to worry about my minifigs, they are even more hazardous :
  19. Thanks guys! My techniques are still immature and I still have a lot to learn . Dennimator, Here's a picture of a dissected football table for you: Try to figure out how to make the Pinball machine yourself
  20. Thank you all! I have only these 4 "qualifying" buildings to make a modular street at the moment, actually I just happened to find these special color (Dark Orange and Sand Blue) bricks from local LEGO shops. I will need a lot more time, space and brick to make a good layout. I think I will need some cars also but cars are not my specialty. P.S. Darth_Legois, the Town Plan blue is not sand blue, it's just medium blue. Oh, and a G/F shot: I think the inclusion of (only) the table is too plain when compared with the upper floor and the other building.
  21. Thanks, it could have been better actually, I haven't included the G/F interior shots here as there's only a long wooden table, 6 chairs and a lamp. The lack of interesting interior lose points I think.
  22. Thank you all! Here's a 3-step instruction for building the wall: Step 1 Step 2 Step 3 A 1x1 brick with studs on 4 sides has to be used for every 4 tan 1x1 brick in the middle. As you can see, the structure relies heavily on 1x1 bricks(I think I used at least 200 of them). While the tan 1x1 bricks on the sides can be replaced with 1x1 technic brick with hole and a technic half pin to improve sturdiness, I think the effect is not material enough to justify the additional cost.
  23. Thank you! Of course I don't mind, that's the point of sharing, right? Thanks! Unfortunately my minifigs don't seem to like the couch as they can't sit properly on those radar dish 2x2... Thanks! I just stacked the pieces, I can't find a way to connect the chair to the base through the half sphere. The chair can't stay in this position even if moved slightly.
  24. Tudor Toys is a tough challenge to me due to my limited collection of sand blue pieces. Only 3 types of sand blue pieces, 1x2 brick, 1x2 45 degree slope, and 1x4 tiles are used here (My only 3...). The design is based loosely on the early mock tudor style. The G/F shop features exciting goodies including a football table, 2 pinball machines, a teddy bear and more. Upper floor continues the decoration style of Noname House, featuring a sofa based on a designer chair, a table, and a potted plant. I am particularly proud of the texture of the octagonal tower walls and it's this little design that leads to the construction of the building. I guess castle fans may find it useful for medievel towers, the trick? 1x1 brick with studs on 4 sides. Overview of the shop: Not very detailed, but it's a football table: And here's a pinball machine: The upper floor! Finally, the original chair: Waiting for your comments, thanks for watching!
  25. Noname House shares a 32 x 32 baseplate with Tudor Toys. It is meant to be a florist but the idea was dropped due to a limited budget (The dark orange pieces are really pricy). The house is turned into a pure residential property with a dinning room and bedroom. I shall let the pictures speak for themselves now. Thanks for watching, comments are always welcome!
