  1. Thanks Infernum and CBMM1! This is what I use for Coulson's head: http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItemIn.asp?P=3626bpb261&colorID=90&in=A
  2. Hi everyone, I made this little vignette while waiting for the new movie to come out. The Suit-Up Gantry was used to undress Tony Stark at Stark Expo Opening Ceremony in Iron Man 2. I hope you like it. More to come later~ In the meanwhile, please help yourselves with donuts and coffee C&C are always welcome!
  3. Thanks for the nice comments :-)
  4. I did this little vignette just to test concepts of making minifigure and micro-scale ballet dancers, it seems like someone needs more practising in the pic Hope you like it~
  5. This is really detailed and absolutely stunning! Very beautiful and accurate in my humble opinion, good work!
  6. Hi all, First of all, I must apologize for the messy background and the quality of the pictures, I didn't really have much time photographing the model. This Candy House is built for a LEGO event that is currently taking place in Times Square, Hong Kong. My fellow Legend Bricks members and I started designing and constructing LEGO models for the event in late March 2012. Houses like this Candy House are enlarged to life scale by wood and plastic to accommodate life-scale LEGO models, such as bread, cakes, paintings, flowers, grandfather clock, and all sorts of interior deco that you can think of for a winter village. While this model is never published, I guess pictures of its life-scale cousins should have been floating around the internet since mid-Nov. Anyway, I am just posting it for sharing so feel free to disqualify me ;-) The timeframe for the initial stage of the project is quite tight so I didn't fit in any interior (nor do I had to, cos that was taken care of in the second stage), but I did gave it some signature features such as a candy cane lamp post and a balcony. I contributed 3 buildings for the project [From left to right: Music Shop (The Music Shop was repurposed as a Toy Shop for the event with a spinning teddy bear on the first floor balcony, which was temporary removed in the picture), Candy House, Bakery] Big... and small... and me Pic with my Carousel~ The event runs from mid Nov to 2 Jan 2013 and opens to public. If you happen to be in town, feel free to pay a visit! (Note: half of the life-scale buildings and the brick built models inside them will be taken down on 26 Dec 2012 for the countdown to 2013. TIme Square Hong Kong is a popular tourism spot and the event is often very crowded.) If Hong Kong is too remote for you, you can also check out some pictures of the event here: https://www.facebook.com/legendbricks Merry Christmas and I wish you all a joyful and prosperous new year!
  7. While I can't speak for all creators, I build for my own enjoyment and sharing with my friends and other LEGO fans. However, by sharing I don't mean turning the model into a shelf product. I like the exclusivity and uniqueness of owning the thing that I create, and that thing being the only one in the world. If builders want to profit from their models, they can simply sell the instructions and part lists themselves. If someone is interested is selling instructions of others' creation, one should ask for permission to do so. If the current situation is acceptable, why don't we stop buying LEGO and go for cheap Chinese knockoffs? Sadly though, there's nothing much that I can do right now.
  8. They would be in for a surprise, it's ring of fire!
  9. Thanks for all the compliments and kind words guys, I really appreciate them! A few things about the Batpod: Sadly, it doesn't connect to the Tumbler (The Tumbler is actually a rather fragile build and there's no room to fit the Batpod in, I am pretty sure both models would fail the Cuusoo design tests ). The chrome "missile / dagger" piece is from the Aquazone sets back in the 1990s, I am not sure if LEGO still makes them in non-chrome colors nowadays...
  10. Hi all, I have built 2 vehicles from The Dark Knight universe and would like to share with you here: I tried my best to maintain the look and the "functionality" of the original vehicles. On the Tumbler, I included front wheel steering, 2-seats cockpit, "suspension" (Back and front), easy removal of the front section to recreate the Batpod eject scene). Hope you like them. Thanks for watching! Jared
  11. Re lightningtiger: Thanks for all the nice words! Here's a pic of a staircase that I hastily take with my iPhone: The other stuff are not really noteworthy Re L@go, LEGO Train 12 Volts, Lego Guy Bri, Asper: Thanks! The logo is one of my favorite part of the building, of course it would be more true to the original if LEGO has thicker rubber bands, but that's the best I can have for now. Re castor-troy: Thank you! Re Hinckley: Thanks! Now let me try "Vinnies" or "stupid dead sheep shoes" Re Legogal: Thanks for your compliments! I think I have robbed the Friends' beauty saloon of all its goodies, its headgear accessories don't really fit it. As for the boots, I have robbed a minifig of his legs (See the upper floor display shelf), poor fig Re Redhead1982, Freddie: Thank you! I will make sure I do better next time!
  12. Thanks Daisy! I do have a bottle of No. 5 on display in the shop window (The one next to the logo) and on a small table inside the building (Not shown in the pictures), but I have to admit that I haven't put too much thought on the interior
  13. Thanks for your compliments and blogging me, Dakar A (Opps, just found out that the title spells "Channel" instead of "Chanel")! Its a really nice passage (and good reference to No. 5!)! The "bricks" surrounding the windows in the tower are in fact rows of 1x1 cheese slopes built horizontally, this bit requires some trial and error. BTW, while the store is built the French way, I got inspired by a corner building at Calle de Alcalá in Madrid while playing Gran Turismo 5
  14. Thanks Rick for your help and your kind words! Really appreciated! This swear filter is interesting
  15. B-OM-15E Hi all, I don't know why but the name of Coco's high fashion brand seems to be a taboo here, it keeps changing to "sewage" whenever I type it... So please bare with the topic title for now... Anyway, if you have been around at the Eurobricks Town page or following modular building MOCs on Brickshelf / Flickr a little over a year ago, you may recall a series of luxury brand modular mocs from me I have been building various stuff / hard at work, and doesn’t really have the luxury for doing another modular. So this Chanel Store, a request from a friend after the original Champ Elysees / Rodeo Drive Project is closed, has been delayed for quite some time. This is my fourth attempt at a corner modular and I am quite pleased with how it turns out (The 1st one is a disaster and if you are interested in the other 2, search “Hermes” and “Emporio Armani”). I really like the combination of white, black and pearl gold, which gives the model a simple and clean look, and I hope the turret at the corner would breathe some fresh air to other modular MOCs. Consistent with my older buildings, Chanel has only 2 storey although I can fit in 3. I am having a hard time finding merchandise and mannequins. It feels great adding a new piece of jewel to a closed project, maybe I should do this annually? I hope you enjoy the pictures and please let me have your comments and criticisms!
  16. Someone ordered a chocolate fountain?
  17. I have an idea already... :-)
  18. Thanks guys and gal! I feel hungry looking at the dessert table myself as well~ Re Arigomi: the dessert house / buffet scene is an one-off project, but the idea of chocolate fountain is really tempting...
  19. B-V-15E Hi all, It's been a long time since I come back to Eurobricks and in fact, a long time since I finish building something~ This vignette is inspired by a recent discussion among Legend Bricks members, a Hong Kong Lego fan club that I belong to, and I hope you like it! Happy Valentine's Day! (Ok... The heart came from my 2-year-old Gucci Store, but it doesn't hurt using old stuff, right? ) Thanks for reading, C&C are always welcome! Jared
  20. Here is the source of the photos: The photos are all taken during the Cityplaza show in Hong Kong, Apr 2011. Thanks L@go!
  21. Sorry guys for driving this further off-topic, I am just told by a friend that the same eBay seller is selling instructions of my Arc de Triomphe without permission as well (I do not make building instructions for my models and I do not sell my designs). I think the Spanish modulars are done by a Japanese builder called Peachtree: http://www.brothers-brick.com/2008/06/01/spanish-style-modular-cafe-by-peachtree/ and I remember seeing the train station somewhere before, but I can't remember the builder's name. I guess I will pm shutinc for his opinion on this.
  22. Thank you for all the kind words and sorry that I have to keep my reply short (its now 2:51am HK time and I really need to go to bed), I will check back to reply you all soon, thanks again!
  23. Hi all, this is my first sharing at the Historic Themes page of EB and I hope I will have more to share in the future. The sack of Troy is my first take on castle creation and the plate-built Trojan Horse is modeled after the one in Brad Pitt's 2004 movie. The build took less than 2 weeks and mostly comprised basic bricks and plates, this was due to the fact that I didn't really decide to join the competition until last minute. Having to build with whatever I had on hand inspired me to do things that were completely different from what I used to do (Almost all my earlier modular building creations were studless), parts of the horse and the Trojan Temple were built with the bottom of parts showing outward to give texture. I hope you guys will find this fresh instead of awkward Agamemnon's Victory Honour the Gods Spoils of war "Troy" will be on public display during the HKACG 2011 to be held from 27 July to 2 August 2011 in Hong Kong, I have avoided violence in the model for now to suit our young audience, but I will surely add some combat scene shots to my flickr at http://www.flickr.co...tos/jaredchan/. Thanks for watching, C&C are always welcome
