Found a high quality model...
QuartermasterRobert replied to QuartermasterRobert's topic in Pirate MOCs
... It would definitely seem that way. :{ Damn, here I thought the thing was made from hundreds of individual bricks and damn good custom sails too DX -

I too have been receiving this message. Could something be wrong with the host?

Damn Phred, the Turtle is good... I hope my entry stands a chance given they'll be in the same division (as soon as I find my camera and a whip piece...) -

TO HAVE FUN! Of course :P

Enlighten Brick Boats Review
QuartermasterRobert replied to Admiral Blockbeard's topic in LEGO Pirates
I noticed that the pirate ships have 4 cannons, one for each port. Don't the Lego originals only come with 2 despite the 4 ports? -
What do you do with your ships after you build them?
QuartermasterRobert replied to SkaForHire's topic in LEGO Pirates
Depends on the model. If it's really REALLY good I'll keep it. If it's decent I'll keep it until I need the parts. If it's unnotable I'll take it apart whenever. -
Blue Coats, Red Coats, or Green Coats
QuartermasterRobert replied to Piranha's topic in LEGO Pirates
The bluecoats for me. Can be both French soldiers or British navy (marines nonwithstanding), where the reds can only be marines or redocats in general. -

Just curious, what exactly does "modular" mean here? How well the models work together? Can you give an example? -
This is great. Good use of decals, almost professional, and all sorts of characters, from drunks to a lawyer to adventurers to even a pastor. Very good.

I have a question. Do animals count against the "animal count" if they're used in architecture? IE: Gray parrots for statues counting against the total animal count. In that case, do minifigs used as statues count against the minifig count? And what about skeletons used in a "decorative" manner (like the ones in the Adventurer Desert sets where they were mostly part of the structure)? -
Preference of Imperial Guard Epaulette colour
QuartermasterRobert replied to Peg Leg Pascoe's topic in LEGO Pirates
Yellow or white. More versatility as they work on both Red and Blue torsos. But I think yellow is more accurate for COs... -
Good Lord that brown frigate at the top is beautiful. The second one should be finished, but the last ones colors really through me off...

Very nice work, I am impressed at the accuracy and yet still managed to retain minifig scale! Though looking at the model I do beleive it could use more cannons on the Lego variant...

Guide to the Pirate Mini-Figures - The Complete Series
QuartermasterRobert replied to Mister Phes's topic in LEGO Pirates
On the subject of Kahuka (and son?)'s red lining, I am FAIRLY sure that it is a sort of sash-belt. Very good read, Phes. Wouldn't have known about Kahuka Jr. otherwise. -
Imperial Burial MOC (Enjoy)
QuartermasterRobert replied to Admiral Blockbeard's topic in Pirate MOCs
Well if youre going to bricklink a few muskets then why not a few flags as well? X-D -
Imperial Burial MOC (Enjoy)
QuartermasterRobert replied to Admiral Blockbeard's topic in Pirate MOCs
I see you stocked up on some bootlet parts, which is ok, except for those ugly damn rifles of theirs. Silvery swords ftw. Anyway, this is an INCREDIBLY original MOC, and I love it. I especially love the way you did the flag, though I wish the whole end was designed that way and not just the one red part. Also, the Cross looks a bit squat, but hey, it IS legos :P -
Anyone know how much he's charging for it all? Probably nothing I can afford...

Buying Pirate LEGO - where to buy, advice, tips and questions
QuartermasterRobert replied to Mr. Smee's topic in LEGO Pirates
.... that ship doesn't look too bad, sans bootleg minifigures. But since I'm more interested in making my own figs, can't complain since they're pirates. Well, they come with those damn modern age rifles instead of muskets. What's the catch?- 502 replies

Jungle Adventure WIP
QuartermasterRobert replied to WesternOutlaw's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
I suggest working on the wrecked plane some. For one, the wings are way too short, and overall it doesn't look that "wrecked". Maybe remove some parts, add more foilage to it, or replace pieces with different colored ones to make it look weather worn. -

Black Seas Barracuda for the definite win. Forget buying the manual, you can read it online on at least 2 different websites for sure, for FREE.- 502 replies
