Is it OK to mix dark skinned mini-figures with yellow mini-figures?
Shoc replied to Mister Phes's topic in LEGO Pirates
Hehe, they all have the same accessories! Yeah, but the whole point is that all human Lego minifigs are yellow, so it would only be unrealistic if there were often unhuman crew members... You said you thought it was fine that fleshies and yellow guys went together, so what's that about? :skull: -
Yay! Meh... I'm not sure what I would pay for that set, maybe that much... :skull:
-
Did you buy any Lego? Southampton is very good for a range of Lego, if you know where to look! :skull:
-
That's why I said "some kind of court". But with a court we would have to have royalty... The dwarf? :skull:

Sounds very cool, I'd like the Shanghai chase. The Rancor, there is already a topic for saying what sets you want for Indy, this is discussing the actual subject of the topic. :skull:

Me too. The Rock Raiders are very sci-fi, with the best Lego Space storyline. The Aquazonies would be inner space rather than outer space though, but they look very 'spacey'. :skull: -
That would be good for the peasant. Maybe for the jester there could be some kind of court or something. A throne and/or glittering treasures for the dwarf would be nice too, and a fireplace or something for the witch. :skull:

There is a witch in the Chess set and Advent Calendar, that would be what Sandy means. I think the witch and he fantastical creatures would be brilliant sets! :skull:

hamilton, I felt a bit offended at your post before, but now you've cleared things up... Maybe, maybe not. It depends - I know many young teenagers who act just like adults anyway, but for others it may not be so suitable. Also, as I had said before, 18 and 19 year olds are teens and adults, so what about that? Is that sarcasm, it doesn't quite go with your previous post? I agree - I don't think I would ever call myself mature, or anyone else who plays with Lego. I am more sensible (despite being very jokey) and polite than a lot of other people, but 'mature' I am not. I think the same - there are hundreds of members on EB, but many have been banned and act irresponsibly. :skull:

Making a yellow Han, Luke and Leia would be silly too - they're not yellow either, in real life! :skull: -
The last film I saw was Knocked Up at my girlfriend's house, this morning - it's meant to be a comedy but apart from two or three little funny bits I found it boring and too profane. The film I saw before that was Troll 2 at my girlfriend's house, last night - it's meant to be a horror but it's simply hilarious for many reasons (bad scriptwriting and bad acting mainly), probably the funniest film I've ever seen. And, it's not even about trolls, it's about goblins! I am eagerly anticipating The Dark Knight, I'm going to see it when it comes out in England on Thursday. :skull:

Seeing parts of Judge Judy has made me realise how ridiculous some people are with suing each other (in America). I don't see how TLC can get sued because they chose a neutral colour for their figures, which they use in most of their non-licensed minifig scale sets. Obviously (human) minifigs are all just born yellow. :skull: -
http://www.ihasabucket.com is my favourite website. It seems that walruses do it a lot. What a big walrus that is! :skull:

That's only because the majority of minifigs used in the Licensed themes are white. I think TLC did have problems being called racist with their yellow figs though, I'm not sure. I don't think you can sue someone if you think they are racist, only if they are. Meh, I dunno... :skull: -
Sorry friend this set is not really for sale by the market. But a tip, if everyone sends mail to LEGO, who knows whether they will do it. Something like that, anyway :skull:

Cool. They had both Avatar sets last time I looked (about 2 weeks ago), and some other larger ones, including Batman. Rockbottom Toystore is the only place I've got my Lego Batman sets from, apart from Legoland. I haven't seen them anywhere else in England. By the way, the address is: Rockbottom Toystore 30 Bargate Shopping Centre, Southampton, SO14 2YD :skull:

Bah... Well, they've already done Alpha Team, but that's not a very good game... :skull:

It's from 8364 Multi-Challenge Race Track, a set I always wanted. :skull:

Wow, this is seriously great Lego animation! I don't think anyone could do better! I watched about the same amount (I'm not usually patient enough for brickfilms ) so I haven't really followed the story, but I see the brilliant quality of this! The only downside is the English accents are a bit off. Brilliant animation, this is! :skull:

The yellow colour as neautral was voted by a load of Danish kids, as I had read even before the fleshies came in. Sure, the Danish population is predominately white, so they would probably have chosen it because it's closer to their skin colour. It can still be neutral though. Yeah, but it's a neutral tone so it is meant to be seen as anyone's skin colour. Remember TLC's old motto: Just Imagine... Why would they get sued? :skull: -
Whoooah! ... Anyway, you should have said these suggestions in the relevant topics, as LuxorV said. :skull:

Fair enough (I don't agree with all of that), but what actually is your view on using dark skin toned figs with yellow ones? I would be interested to see. :skull: -
Wow, great MOC as usual, SlyOwl. It's strange, sleek, and pretty funny. A very good creation, though the front of the ship is odd, with two parts together. Not really... Hehe. :skull:

That could be cool, but much more unlikely than any of the other games. Personally I'd love to see TLC make a game of one of its original themes in LSW style (Adventurers ), rather than another LSW game though. :skull:
