  1. Didn't they already do a theme like that with the imperial armada? But If you mean fighting against aztecs, You could use the CMF Aztecs against the Imperial armada figs. As for me, After more time mocing and looking at my collection, I have decided to change my vote to redcoats(Although by that I also mean British!)
  2. It looks like a nice Imperial ship. I like the tan and brown color scheme and the stern.
  3. nice game Rob. The campaign sounds especially fun.
  4. [pid][/pid] Classic Pirates. There is no other theme like it. At least that's my opinion, and that's why I bought Saber Island, the smallest of the Bluecoat forts. I decided that although it's already been reviewed, Twice, it deserves another. Stats Theme: Pirates Minifigs: 3 Pieces: 96 (according to brickset) Price: $15.50 but now it's around £20/$20 Instruction's I don't have the box, but the art is the same as the instructions The instructions have no piece callouts but it does have a birdseye view for where to put the pieces on the baseplate. Minifigs: Great design on the minifigs. Two soldiers, which you can't have enough of, and yet another De Martinet The backs have no printing, as none did back then. At least we get two backpacks. We also get a lot of weapons. 2 muskets, 3 swords, a flintlock pistol and a cannon for only 3 figs The Rowing Boat The Row Boat is a nice touch, and really adds to the set in my opinion. You can use it to patrol round the island. The small flag is printed and looks really nice. The island: This is the baseplate you build the outpost on. It's quite small but in the end the set looks quite big. Well at least for the piece count. The finished set looks nice and is should make a proud part of your Lego empire. I especially like how the outpost looks on this side. With the palm tree and nice balcony, it really fits the Caribbean look. Sadly it doesn't look as good from the back, with no wall or fence for playability. At least you get a sword holder. You get another printed flag, just a lot bigger this time. The complete set looks brilliant, and looks like a lot more than 92 pieces. Time for Ratings! Playability: A lot of figs and a rowboat to patrol, but without a pirate it will always be hard too have fun with it. 6/10 Price: I got mine for with harbor sentry for £17 including P&P which I think is good. 8/10 Pieces: a lot of big wall pieces, but a nice palm tree is included. 7/10
  5. Can I join. I've got a few sets I'd like to review and I have actually found the instructions.
  6. Yeah, I'll check it out If I get the time.
  7. Thanks Horry. This time I'm sure I've done it... I think.
  8. Done! I accidentally pressed post way too early, sorry about that.
  9. [pid][/pid] The closest thing I've had to a dark age was between 2008-2010, when I was overcome by the bane of my LEGO life... Video Games. Of course this meant I ended up missing the 2009 pirate theme, ( Although I did get Cannon Battle as it was on sale) but thankfully Ebay gave me a second chance. I ended up winning Kraken Attackin', and it has now become my first review. Stats: Price: £8.99/$9.99 Pieces: 79(according to brickset) Minifigs: 2 Year released: 2009 Instructions: I don't have the box, but the art is the same as the instructions The instructions show the top minifigure with white arms even though they are yellow. They also give him the tricorner hat but the box shows him with a bandanna. There is also a colorful comic inside, which I think makes the instructions a lot more special. This is also the smallest set to have a comic. The minifigures: The Figs in this set are quite common but still nice. The minifigure on the right looks very piratey, and we get a tricorner. I wish they still did them in brown . The backs of the minifigs are printed very nicely. Rope design carries on, on the pirate on the right. The Kraken is very small and I prefer to think of it as an octopus, as that is what the mold was originally for. Raft: The Main part of the raft is built by building two halves of a frame... And joining them using a technic piece. Sturdy design and great SNOT by TLC. You then put tan plates on top and add the VERY narrow mast. You get two gems as treasure, in a reddish brown box. The complete set looks great. I love the ladder to reach the crows nest You also get a two toned parrot. Birds eye view showing the pirate in the crows nest. Ratings: Design: 7/10 I thought it was a good use of snot but too narrow a mast. Playability: 8/10 two pirates against a sea monster is going too be fun, no matter how big the monster is. Minifigs: 7/10 They may be common but the pirates are very detailed. Parts: 6/10 Not much variation as it is mostly round 2 by 2's, but you do get an octopus and a crows nest. Overall: 7/10 It is a good set and all pirate fans should get it. In the history of Lego rafts I would rate it second, after renagades raft. "Don't see what all the hype was about."
  10. That's an awesome small MOC, I like the way the barrels are tied down and full of money and food.
  11. That pirate looks great! He even has an exclusive gold sword.
  12. Great Ship, I wish I was this good at MOC's. I have to pass off my Redcoat ships as Merchant one's, due to the small size . Great use of CMF as figure head, now when I go to the LEGO shop this weekend I'm going to be desperately buying CMF'S and looking through the minifig bin's to find something like this .
  13. Good Ship, I like the SNOT used on the deck and the color scheme of tan and brown makes it look very realistic . It must have cost a lot to get all those Gibbs figs.
  14. You have both ITP and Eldorado Fortress! you could make some good wars. Who do you prefer, Redcoats or the rubbish bluecoats.
  15. It's because in Dead Man's Chest, which this set is from, Jack's hat gets taken by the kraken at the beginning.
  16. Might of been 2011, I just remember thinking I should get a pirate ship first. Oh how I regret it.
  17. I got QAR instead of it in 2010, even though I had money spare to get it. Now I can't even look at it without feeling regret .
  18. Just got Saber Island and Harbor Sentry for £17 including P&P .
  19. Rome total war was great. shame you have to have it on mute because advisers start saying words that I don't think are real .
  20. Privateers I like the idea of being a pirate under the protection of the queen plus barbossa's privateer outfit helped .
  21. I only have QAR . But i'm trying to buy some classics. I now also have my MOC the HMS Powerhouse.
  22. at least with more cannon ports you can add more cannons.
  23. We need more Masoch!
