The Republic Cruiser is supposed to look like a brick! Anyhoo, yeah, I agree with Imperial. Also, just check out the amount of bricks that would have to go into that! Seeing as how we already have so many big sets, I think it's going to be more like the new Sith Infiltrator. Y'know, with larger parts to cut down the cost of the set. I really hope it won't be true, but it sure seems like it. Say, speaking of Amidala's ship, why haven't we gotten a Naboo Royal Cruiser yet? It's my favorite design from the Star Wars series, and I would really love to see it be immortalized in LEGO bricks. Especially with all these new sloped pieces. Or perhaps the alternate for the Sith Infiltrator IS the Naboo Royal Cruiser? You never know! Maybe they decided to throw in a few extra parts, just like the Ferrari Chalenge set?

Here's a cropped version of the trolls from Asuka's find earlier. Thanks Asuka! I love how it's there to even out the sides a bit, but I'm a tad afraid of how they will be made. it seems like it's just going to be one giant mold, like the dinosaurs of DINO!Attack. Hope they change the design before they make them!

Hmm, this is pretty interesting! I got to admit, I have seen alot of studless spaceships on Brickshelf. However, I think the objective the builder is trying to achieve isn't so much to deviate away from the way the brick is built, but rather, to do something special. Afterall, LEGO is based on studs, so to make something that looks like something we'd see in real life is truly icing on the cake. Aside from sheer kicks-value, I don't see a evolution towards non-stud builds. It's kinda like a fad, doing it once in a while, then getting tired of it and going back to tradition. In terms of theme, I think the Space ones look the way they do because most of science fiction these days have these amazingly sleek looking designs, rather than the more blocky/grungy types of the pre-80s. I agree with Starwars! There's always a happy medium, and there no better example than the castle builds and SNOT-estque mechas. Personally, I like to build in both styles. I'm mostly a mini-mecha builder (talking 3-inch robots here), but I like to do it both ways. Sometimes, sloped pieces allow you to have that nice beautiful curve you've always wanted, while the rest are exposed bricks. I'm not a "trend-setter" in mecha by any means, but by looking at the leading designers, the new age of mechs is to completely integrate exposed-stud design and sloped pieces to make a truly harminic piece. Kinda like the new Transformers movie designs! :-D *Ducks and covers himself from rabid G1 Transformers fans*

Dude! You've totally got to do a review on it! I'd pay good money to see "Golden Guardian in Fabuland"! :-D Anyhoo, I knew it! There was just no way they would skip up on an opportunity to release that on Shop@Home. Shame they took it off though. I was actually seriously considering buy it! Guess it was kinda a good thing, considering how "spur of the moment" I am. :-D

Would you like to see Bionicle expanded into SPACE??
KMOI replied to johnsocal's topic in LEGO Action Figures
I agree with you fully, Starwars! Anyhoo, I'm not too sure whether Bionicle space would be possible, but when you look at the playsets, they practically are "space" sets. Just check out those closed canopies and ship designs! It pretty well much screams "alien vessel" to me. Especially that large one with the insectiod looking cockpit. That one looks like it belongs to the aliens side of Mars Mission. -
I'm not too sure if this can fully solve your problem, Scout, but I hope this can help! I found this on Google. Here goes: I just did the exact same thing, and here's how I fixed it (I'm using Windows XP): 1. Go to Start/Run, and type %AppData% . Hit enter. 2. That should take you to a folder that has a Mozilla folder in it. Open that, and then you should see a Firefox folder. Open that, and then open the Profiles folder. 3. You should have two folders there. Delete the one that ends in .Temp. 4. Reboot. Note, I added in the "Delete the one that ends in .Temp.", because you said you named your new user as "Temp". I'll look for more info on how to switch accounts on Firefox, but here's a solution that has worked for someone! Best of luck!

At least Mrs. Kennedy won't make you write with a quill that uses blood as ink and cuts the words into your back! :-D Anyhoo, wow! These castle sets look amazing! I'm really glad the knights clash set is so affordable. Count on me to buy one of those!

This is exactly mine too! Except add on Cars for good measure. ;-) In terms of TV shows, I watch LOST, Avatar (duh X-D), 24 and Shark!

Hmm, this does not comfort me one bit. It really seems like they're going REALLY light on this line this time around. Shame, considering there's far more possibilities for sets, such as the Ministry of Magic. I hope they do a second wave of sets, because I've never heard of one set for such a magnificent line. I'm also worrying about the lack of Avatar sets. I know they haven't done so well in comparisson to Spongebob, but they should give it a shot. Given the fact that the first wave was so lackluster, they should really give Avatar a better chance. I, for one, would love for there to be a collection of medium diorama sets, as opposed to the larger ones. Just like those smaller, but still large Orient Expedition sets, you know? I would DEFINATELY buy that!

Lawl. Anyhoo, thanks for the info, Sam! Really appreciate it! Hmm, I have to say I'm curious as to how there are so many parts to such a simplified set. I'm talking about the mobile Devestator, of course. But then again, it would be mostly all those pegs that hold that thing together. Not to mention that other mech! That alone should be a good 150 pieces!

More like a hybrid of super-cement and duct-tape! Wonderful job! I love my new crisp sky blue citizen star! It matches my whole profile, that's for sure! Thanks for all these updates, Brickminer! I love them all!

I too am with Champ, Zourse and xeno. There's just simply too many things wrong with it to like. I love the idea, but the execution is not all that grand. I still think they should have ditched the flyers and had a pair of Claw Crusher-estque style mechs inside. Considering how much they will charge for it, you can expect me to stay clear of that set. Anyhoo, I think the front part is a wheel piece, but the rest is appears to be a collection of minifigure heads. Or it could always be a new piece. X-D

I'm in Canada, and we're about to be whalloped by that massive snow system you mentioned, Optimax! Well, on Wednesday, that is. Shame I have an accounting test on that day! But at least it's going to be a beautiful snowy day. Nothing like casually strolling down the road, enveloped in a massive mid-length parka while everyone else runs for cover! :-D

Was just about to post that! Yeah, it most likely is. In their rush to set the thing up for their big preview night, I'm sure some things got thrown together too fast. Just look at Bionicle, for example! Anyhow, if they DID make the change, I wouldn't mind at all. The whole move back to orange and white seems illogical, considering how awesome green looked on him. Guess it's to distinguish the robots from the humans, I guess. Shame though. :'-( Just for the sake of good practices, do you have a link to where it is confirmed by an official, Exo-Champ? I just want to put my heart at rest. :-)

I really hate to do this, but it seems I'm going to have to convey my point in a more simple and graphic manner, seeing as how a block of words isn't doing it. Let's take a look at this, shall we? Namor (Namor comic) http://img250.imageshack.us/img250/3552/namorte0.jpg Aspen (Fathom comic) http://img250.imageshack.us/img250/3039/55al1.jpg Princess Kida (Atlantis: The lost empire movie) http://img249.imageshack.us/img249/3769/2001kidatv6.gif Will Namor here preforate me with a machine gun? Will Aspen try to eat my face? Does Princess Kida have blood veins that look like the result of far too many muscle enhancements? No, they don't. But here's what I do know. Namor could and would beat the living daylights out of you for no good reason. He would tear you to shreds in mere seconds if you tried to harm Atlantis. Aspen can manipulate water into things you couldn't begin to imagine. Kida could easily impale you with the slightest of effort while displaying incredible athletic prowness. And do any of these 3 examples I have given look anything like a villian? I think not. Point I'm trying to get across is that there IS a certain line at which characters look INHERENTLY evil. Just look at this: http://img405.imageshack.us/img405/1962/39...79b10e36ec6.jpg Does he look evil? Yes, he does. Is he a villian? Of course. He's Mega-"I'm going to eat villages"-tron. But let's take a moment here. What if he saves a busload of children from falling over a bridge? What if he stops a building from colapsing? What if he saves the entire world by finding the Mask of Life? All while he selflessly helps everybody he encounters? Then he's a HERO. Point is, yeah, heroes don't have to look like knights in shining armour. But when something looks like a VILLIAN, my brain automatically thinks it's a villian and takes caution, because I don't want to be EATEN by said villian. Unless the villian-looking being proves it's a hero by personality, I will continue to ASSUME that it is a VILLIAN. It's a shame that since Pirates of the Caribbean: DMC came out, everyone thinks deep sea = horrible, coral infested monsters. As I've shown above, you CAN be in deep sea AND still look like a million bucks. Once again folks, sorry for derailing the topic. I just had to clarify my views. EDIT: And there's plenty of examples of beautiful fish. Practically everything that's at normal depths is eye candy, and some in deep water too. You also got to keep in mind that the Mahiri look to be more inspired by diving suits tha anything else (Though Hahili look like a Flying Fish). And diving suits are pretty asthetically pleasing to the eye. Anyhoo, X-D I hear ya! Guess everyone still likes their "Makuta" colours. Oh well, I'm sure they'll tired of "protodermic" silver one of these days. :)

I used the spinners for my 2001 Ko-Matoran warmachines. :-P What can I say? I kinda like the idea of empowering the little guys (but not so far as to turn them into Toa) so that they at least had SOME form of protection against Rahi other than ice picks. And yes, that is my main gripe. It would be nice if they didn't lopside some Toa's arms so that you could take that wretched chaingun out of their hand. As for looking like a hero, well, I don't have to say much. I understand they can get ugly. But I can't fathom how extremely overpowered these guys are. Sure, they have life support systems and if you yank it out, they die, Barraki have field advantage. But they got chain-guns. Put it side by side with a squid crossbow. Each bolt/rod is almost the size of a squid. When you wield something like that and have access to unlimited ammo, one does not bother with aim. Point it in the general direction and level the entire ocean floor. Slaughter of the likes of which we've never seen before. And in classical 2006-Bionicle fashion, the Toa will completely and utterly own the Barraki. Only when the larger figures come out will the Toa actually have problems. Why? Because they ALSO got ground-leveling chainguns. And in terms of look, there's a certain boundary at which you pass "hero" and enter the realm of "villian". I know I'm talking to alot of "Spawn" era folks, so it's really difficult to convey my view. Basically, these guys look inherently evil. Only when they do something that proves otherwise will it register in my head that these are good guys. In my mind, anything that's massive, hunched over, looks like it's going to load you full of lead and then eat you is a villian. I'm sorry. I'm really trying hard to look at these guys as heroes, but I simply can't. It's just not possible. I kinda just noticed this, but doesn't Huki's face (minus the manta ray fins), look like the rock representation of the Makuta?

UNGH. I hate all this blind-packaging business. Now I totally agree with copmike. I mean, if this was like the mask packs, that would be okay, considering the low cost of those packs. But blind packing them into sets? That is going to be one expensive endevour to try and find one of those. It just simply isn't worth it. *sad* True, true. Especially since a split down the middle seems really unlikely. I just hope they don't get the idea that "All Star Wars fans are in North America", and deprive all of you of these sets. And the entire world, for that matter! Guess it's time to find a good custom vacuum chromer. :-( I sincerely hope that box mutilation will not increase. Back when they introduced those light-out figs, I saw a record number of missing Darth Vaders (and his lightsaber) from the Tie Fighter at all retailers. It would truly a sad state of humanity, should rabbid/extremist collectors and Ebayers be driven to this level.

Good god, I didn't even notice the chaingun on his shoulder. 8-

Hmm... While I totally agree with copmike, I don't think there's going to be many problems is there's a grand total of 10,000 sets with a chrome paint C3PO. There would have been a massive problem if they only had 1,000, but with 10,000, I think there's a slim, but existant chance that you'lll be able to get one. Especially if you're one of the first! Afterall, the price tag is unnaturally expensive, so that alone will bar the majority of people from buying bulk. Unless they pull a Swanberg, that is! :-D But all joking aside, I think there's a fairly good chance you'll get it copmike! Just be sure to sleep outside your local Toys R Us the night before it hits the stores. ;-)

Thanks very much guys! I tried to aim for something that's accessable to everyone, and nothing's more universal than slapstick humor! The last little bit was going to be a "epilogue ", but then I threw it in for good measure, just to grab a chuckle from those who aren't pleased by physical comedy. X-D And for all those who are curious where those Grevious Legs are from, they're one of my past MOCs! You can check out a gallery here: http://eurobricks.hosting.ipsyn.com/eurofo...?showtopic=1183 Second page is where you actually see the legs on Grevious himself. X-D

Brand new piece, my friend! Currently, it's only in Exo-Force sets, but with all the new themes coming out soon, I'm sure there will be more with these! Sorry about this photo quality. It's afternoon here and I have to turn off all the lights to ensure there isn't a yellowish tint on the pics. Anyhoo, enjoy! Also, note the technic rod hole in the middle. It's super adaptable! Here's the Bricklink listing, if you want to keep your eye on which sets have the piece! http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItemIn.asp?P=57910&in=S

Thanks for all the scans, legomilk! I'm with Starwars! That mini-ship looks flat out amazing. It I don't buy any of the larger sets, I'm definately getting that one!
-
Pleased to be of service to everyone! Anyhow, I haven't seen any Mars Mission sets on any of the other sites, but they might pop up soon! I'm currently scouring for more updates on the Toyfair, and nothing has shown up yet. I'll update the links when new ones appear! Off topic, but for all those Transformers fans out there, I've caught word from figures.com that they aren't allowed to take photos of the figures. :-( Tough day for Transformers fans!

Not entirely sure if I'm accurate, but isn't this Ron? http://www.asmzine.com/toyfair07/gallery/L...s/IMG_6351.html I think the flash may have killed the details of the face, but that's definately him. Awesome skeleton horse thingy too! Small question though. Does that Dementor have eyes?

Well, after posting links to the galleries all over the place, I just wanted to give you a heads up that the NYC toyfair is underway! Last night, LEGO set up a massive preview party, and we got a taste of the offerings, as ASMzine reports. While there are tonnes of photos, there's far more on the way! This is just the preview, and the in-depth coverage has yet to begin! Here they are folks, the new sets! http://www.asmzine.com/toyfair07/companies/lego/ Note: Castle did not make an appearance at the time, as shown by the poster. :-( Also, no creator or technic sets are present in the photos, but perhaps that's because they haven't set them up yet.
