No worries about the delay, but yeah don't we need to leave if Avalanche has left? Or is it different because he just hasn't posted? Erik looks around, spotting his Silver Cup lying on the ground, but seeing no sign of Avalanche. "Damn, beasties must've got Avalanche. Leave the rabbits if you can, we can't have them running off before we make them pay." Erik swings his Titanic Axe at Pumpkinfaces A from the back row. Battle Order: Warlen William William Erik Siercon Alexander -
I don't think anyone wants to leave, just Warlen said this earlier: which made me think perhaps he wanted to leave, or thought someone else wanted to leave, and just wanted to get to 15 GP before that happened, so now we do have 15+ GP I was just checking no-one did want to leave, but it seems they don't.

I didn't intend to join this debate either, but I have a few more examples that I don't think were mentioned.Jeanne de Clisson Marcia ordelaffi Joanna of Flanders The order of the Hatchet (not too pleased with the sources I've been able to readily find for that one, though) The wikipedia page for 'Knight' also has a subsection on female knights. Regardless, though, I think the idea that examples of female fighters are needed is actually as flawed as asking for examples of non-female fighters would be. Back in the middle ages, if you wanted to fight in an army and weren't important you had to meet three criteria. 1. Can you run forwards? *Not actually that important if you have a bow. 2. Can you tell who your enemy is? *Not actually that important, we'll send you in first. 3. Can you kill? *Not actually that important, cannon fodder. As for the argument that women were prevented from fighting by not being strong enough to wear a knight's armour, most fighters couldn't afford to buy that much armour anyway.

"Haha, thanks." Erik flicks burning tufts of wool from his axe blade, and distributes one bone to each William, Alexander, Avalanche, and himself, and two bones to Warlen and Siercon. "Lets head to the Apple Orchard, then. The 'Immortal' challenge seems to be serving us well." -

Thanks guys, I'm back, happy with Dragonfire's order and actions. Siercon casts Fire at Direwolf A through the Giant Spear from the back row. If the Direwolf is K/O'ed he attacks Black Sheep instead. -

I will be away without internet for the weekend, sorry. I'm happy for anyone to step in as party leader/give actions for Erik during that time. "Sorry Siercon, I must have forgotten to put you in the order. Since the Black Sheep is doomed, Warlen, it might be worth you hitting something else. We can take the free hit easily." Erik repeats his attack against the Direwolf, from the front row with the Titanic Axe. Battle Order Warlen Alexander Erik William Avalanche Siercon William -
Oh yeah sorry, I did read what you said earlier and I do agree a compromise should be made to ensure we respect other people's creations as much as possible, but at the same time, there are apparently 198 topics in the Heroica subforum, even the people who have read everything in there likely can't remember all of it at one time, so people are going to find their toes get stepped on. Like you say, though, we still need to do our best to respect each other.

Wow I saw this 'Kaliphin' thing start up this morning and didn't have time to post properly then, and now others have said basically the same thing, but I remember when I first joined here people got up to all kinds of crazy stuff and conflicted each other but it all sorted itself out. Now we think about things in much more detail, and worry about things such as "game balance" and not roleplaying other people's characters. Back in the day, you could have one fellow say his character was from somewhere, or did something, and for that player, that was the way it was, but maybe for another player it was all completely different, and the first character was just mad. And everyone else could choose for themselves which character was right, or if neither were. So, Windusky could play his character as coming from Kaliphin, and that's how things are for him, and if someone doesn't like that, well, they play their character as thinking Dr. Windus is mad and really from somewhere else. And that can be how things are for them. And Lind can do the same with whether Lind is sane or not. To some people, he's sane, and to others he's mad. But this is just, like, my opinion, man. Yeah, I'm not going to go back and find Flipz' exact protests, but if you were to say, "Lind's religion is Dodekube" and I were to say "That's stupid", that's different to if I said "Um... The Dodekube - as in, Brick Wars' Dodekube - does not exist in Heroica. You can make new gods for Heroica - just so long as they don't conflict with already existing canon - but you can't bring in other "franchises"." Because I'm saying "that's stupid", and suggesting you shouldn't do it, but I'm not saying that it's against the rules and that you can't do it. There's no reason you can't tell me to shove it, and go ahead and do whatever you want.*I'm not actually meaning to say the Dodekube is stupid, I'm just trying to say, if someone does say that, you can tell 'em to shove it. And then in my next post I talk about the importance of respect. Don't let me tell you what to do.

"What loyalty!" Erik thinks, or perhaps mutters, to himself. "With such support, perhaps I could become king of Uland!""Best to leave most of the Bhargests, I think. We'll be in big trouble if we all get confused, their hits won't do much to us anyway, and there's a good chance they'll be all killed by an AOE anyway. William, that repeating crossbow is gonna do great here, these beasts all look really flammable." The mage's eyes shine with fire, mirrored in his armour and axe. "Maybe soak those woolly sheep in something first, though." Erik attacks Dire Wolf from the front with the Titanic Axe. Battle Order Warlen Alexander Erik William Avalanche William -
So, the FAQ says: but I believe that's been changed to 1/2 chance to attack an ally regardless of stated action, hasn't it, as of the siren battle of #130?Anyway, what would happen in the event of a character capable of spellcasting and physically attacking becoming both confused and either sealed or blinded? Would they have 1/2 chance to repeat their previous action against an ally, or would they automatically use whichever one would not be blocked by blindness/sealing? My final question about confused is does a confused hero who attacks an ally have a roll to see if they attack their ally with a shield or a critical hit or whatever it may be, or do they simply make a free hit against the ally? I also have a question about Asleep - the rules say a sleeping character can be "woken by an attack" - does this attack have to deal damage? Thanks

"Warlen, do you think you could lend your Ring to Avalanche to wear instead of his gloves? Should keep him up a bit longer." "Siercon, that Potion can replace the one you used earlier. Warlen, between that Pointy Hat, the Gold Ring and one Bone, you ought to be able to pay for the consumables you used. I'll take one to pay for the other half of that remedy, and Avalanche, William and Alexander can each take one of the other three bones. That fair?" "As for where we go next, These mediocre-level areas seem more trouble than they're worth. I think maybe the Sheep Meadow, or some other easy area, with the Immortal challenge again." Loot division: Siercon: Potion Warlen: Pointy Hat, Gold Ring, One Bone Erik: One Bone Avalanche: One Bone William: One Bone Alexander: One Bone -

"Hang on, sorry, Warlen, could you heal Siercon instead of me? Save him the potion, or heal yourself and I can just slip on my Boots and get healed back to full at the end of this fight anyway. I'll swap you two in the battle order." Knowing how confusing things can get when people suggest action changes late in a round, Erik looks around the field "We've got all the free hits covered regardless what happens." -

I think Siercon's Giant Spear might only deal *Bleeding 5* Erik attacks Carrion Squirrels E from the front row with the Titanic Axe William attacks Carrion Squirrels D and then Skeleton Mage from the back row with the Repeating Crossbow. "Warlen, mind doing some more healing?" Battle order: Erik William William Avalanche Siercon Alexander Warlen -
I think Flipz is talking about the Critical/Jump Hit rolled by Hoke, and Zepher is talking about the Shield/High Assault rolled by Torc. Yeah no worries real life comes first.

Oh the Creeping Hand should have actually done 6 damage to Erik since he was in the front row. But he's back in the back this round. "Hey Siercon, looks like casting Light on the the Skeleton Knight through your Giant Spear from the back row is your safest option. -

Yeah I'm sure, both because it's good stats-wise, but also because he got given it by the Maginastra (quest 32, basically him and Erik got on well), so RP reasons.
