If I'm not mistaken that ship was first displayed during the 1993 LEGO Exhibition "Pirates Ahoy!". If that's the case I've seen it first hand.

What's that brown stuff on the apron? X-D

A Couple Jack Sparrow Torso Designs
Mister Phes replied to Tyger's topic in Minifig Customisation Workshop
These first attempts are brilliant, you'll be quite dangerous when you get really good at it! -
We wanted to give you lads the opportunity to branch out... So what's everyone waiting for? Lets all create custom designs today! Oh that's right, I've got things to do this afternoon. Darn...

Yes this is quite an interesting topic indeed, I shall have to get into it more when I have some time. The Flying Time Vessel is an interesting set because its the only one which includes a complete old style hull that was never used in any of the Pirate sets. It makes a nice alternative.

Actually that's incomplete, the full document reads: Privateer Ship Revenge 1779 A large and successful privateer ship. She sometimes cruised in company with the privateer ship Halifax Bob. This interesting advertisement for her crew appeared in the Nova Scotian Gazette on Jan. 12, 1779: Privateer Ship Revenge 1779 A large and successful privateer ship. There's a whole page of Pirate related stickers... Which lad would like to Brickshelf this image before it disappears?

Lately there's been an explosion in custom torso designs so we want to encourage this further by special creating a forum, but customs isn't limited to torso designs they include parts, sails, torso designs, decals and related graphics. I'll attempt to provide a definition: A MOC is a complete creation while a custom is a creation that is can be used with a larger creation. So a custom weapon by itself would belong in the Pirate LEGO Customs forum. Then later someone could use the custom weapon as part their own MOC. Does that make sense?

I haven't voted for any yet actually. I always had a soft spot for the soldiers but in more recent times I've warmed up to Imperial Guards so I don't know... What were the reasons behind you voting for Imperial Guards Mr Fordo?
-
What does that plague next to the weapon say? It looks like "club with shark ???? of kaulia wood, tiger shark teeth and hemp" I can't make out the far word in the first row.

Thank link is working on my computer Count Sneffy and I think its because the address is incomplete.

A Couple Jack Sparrow Torso Designs
Mister Phes replied to Tyger's topic in Minifig Customisation Workshop
Obviously Illustrator is very similiar to Photoshop since they're both produced by Adobe, but I think Illustrator has slightly better vector design tools. I suppose that because Illustrator is intended for the purpose of design vector objects while Photoshop is an all round image editor. Have you done any other torso designs? -
A Couple Jack Sparrow Torso Designs
Mister Phes replied to Tyger's topic in Minifig Customisation Workshop
I think these are quite good. Which program did you design them in? -
There are plenty of knock-off brands already doing that. Do you think that might be what's preventing a new Pirate line?

MLCAD Submodel Tutorial
Mister Phes replied to ZCerberus's topic in Digital LEGO: Tools, Techniques, and Projects
As long as its not spam or a nuisance post then it shouldn't matter. But its a good thing you've revived it because I've realised that I haven't linked this thread on the Tutorials Page on Classic-Pirates.com. -
You two have been quite busy I see. Carry on....

PICTORIAL REVIEW: 6285 Black Seas Barracuda
Mister Phes replied to Capn Frank's topic in LEGO Pirates
Last comments folks! The new Pictorial Review is almost upon us so this one will be moved to the Reviews Forum very soon. -
I'm too busy with university assignments to worry about smileys now. You'll have to survive for a couple of weeks with the limited selection we already have.

Greetings Shinohara! Welcome to the Pirate Forum! Fear not! We have a How to Perform a Batch Image Resize Tutorial which allows to resize one or many images at once. Making them smaller will reduce the grainess and allow you to post them right into the thread. Someone can do the first one for you so you know I mean. Mr Tiber, Bonaparte, Phred? Who wants some fun? :skel1:

How could Barbie possibly compare to her?
-
You got any examples of torso you've applie to mini-figures that you can show us?
-
Ah yes, that tends to happen from time to time... But I'm astounded that a thread of this topic has done so well. Usually they get 5-10 posts then die terribly. So well done! *y*

Why thank you kind sir! Much cheaper than the $125 one on Bricklink. But not as cheap as the $15 one in my own region that I let come and go due to stupidity! The postage from the USA is going to cost around $20. Anyway, I'll be added it to the Which official Pirate Lego sets do you have? thread when it arrives.
