  1. It sure does look like old gray... But maybe that's just the picture. Someone will need to get a copy of this set once it's released and take a close-up picture of the sabre.
  2. I don't like being a pessimist either, but the LEGO Group tends to bring back old pieces unexpectedly (like the monkey in the Speedracer sets - I wasn't expecting that) but it never seems to any relation to themes they may potentially release in the future. I can't really imagine them thinking "Well lets sneak X piece into this set because we're going to revive Y theme in the near future" It would be good to be wrong though.
  3. So you are looking for bows as in the front end of the ship? Please name your threads more meaningfully in the future. I'm going to retitle this one "Any suggestion for bows? (the type you find at the front of a ship)" "Any suggestions" is a far too general thread title.
  4. It's recommended that you get a Brickshelf account. Brickshelf is an image hosting service especially for LEGO and it lets you store large image files.
  5. It's also highly encouraged to create a thread for your entry AFTER the competition has finished (that includes judging as well). In that thread you can post as many pics as you and your entry can receive all the attention it deserves.
  6. Nobody has posted in this thread for over 24 hours so does that mean the forum is working properly for everyone?
  7. The good news is you can post images 800 x 600 and they should display nicely at most resolutions. So here we go: I'd recommend you take another picture of your ship, this time making sure it fits within the frame because it looks like a third of your sail has been cut off so you might want to zoom out a bit more next time. Presentation is important because users are more likely to stop and look at something that is nicely presented, and as a result leave you more comments.
  8. Are the masts strengthen by anything on the interior? Or have you just stacked 1 x 1 cylinders on top of each other?
  9. I can see how this would be useful if you're making a video, but as a still image - exactly what is the point of this ?
  10. But this definitely is the most colourful pirate MOC I've ever seen! Never have I seen shades of violet and cyan used in the same Pirate MOC. It reminds me of "PlaySkool" toys for some reason...
  11. Nah, I was only kidding. I've already got two Renegade Runners so this one is all yours... It would have to be chronically cheap for me to buy a third and this one aint what I call chronically cheap.
  12. Think what the LEGO Group produced during the Classic Pirates area, not what they produced during Vikings/Knight's Kingdom era - this is Classic-Pirates after all!
  13. Ooooooo! Oooooooo! Look! I'm in it!!! I'm in it!!!
  14. Let us know if you need help. We're here to assist!
  15. This is quite interesting because I haven't see a cannon pulled apart before. It's obviously not one of the post 1992 US cannons X-D
  16. I think it's very well distinguished actually - for its size you seem to have put a decent amount of detail in it. I think it would be interesting if someone took upon the challenge of designing sails made from material, for one of these mini MOCs.
  17. Yes, I agree with ExoBuilder - more pictures would be great! Looks nice and colour form what can see though *y*
  18. Thanks for blogging this Rom - I'll be sure to return the favour when Classic-Pirates.com returns.
  19. Why thank you Hinckley! I've already optimised the top background image (which is probably the biggest offender) and the banner images. That should shave about 40KB of the bandwidth. Most of the other images are under 5KB.
  20. I may have to optimise the graphics slightly to improve faster loading times. It's the eBay Affiliate Program and that's about all I can tell you without violating their terms and conditions. I guess the Classic-Pirates.com will be down temporarily thread has gone unnoticed...
  21. It's been brought to my attention that some users are experience problems with the pirate forum. Most likely these problems are a combination of the News Ticker (the scrolling links in the top left) and the amount of graphics in the new skin. First thing I'll do is remove the News Ticker to see if that makes any improvement. Let us know if you're having problems!
  22. Oh yeah! Some more frontpage MOC material! I'll be sure to examine this one more thoroughly after 40 winks.
  23. It definitely won't be pirated... It will be legitimately purchased by wonderful contributors of the Pirate Forum instead. It looks like quite an interesting vignette and I like the drama taking on the inside. The pirate falling off the rampart is also quite amusing, but I don't see it as something the LEGO Group would normally release as a set.
  24. Classic-Pirates.com will be down temporarily Just letting everyone know. We're transferring to a new provider and will be back within the next week or so.
  25. Surely it can't be hard to get rid of him - just push him in the water *skull* Yes! We must find out what happens next!
