Mister Phes replied to Bonaparte's topic in LEGO Pirates
Exactly what did you have in mind? -
Yep! These are definites Who is RebelRocks? Hmmm... Not sure if we want to give Mr Tiber all the kudos for this idea But perhaps there's some merit in this idea. Excellent work Mr Lock!

That's quite an amusing history lesson! What gave you the inspiration for this? Are you originally from Britain, Alexandertam?
-
Bless his heart... Bless your heart... Lots of heart blessing! But there are plenty of recent topics which are dying for attention and sadly you seem to have overlooked them...
-
I am curious Captain Green Hair, what made you decide to post in a topic that hasn't been active in over 18 months? UKDevilz doesn't say much these days.

You certainly may! Phred began creating and maintaining indexes for the Pirate Forum without even being asked. So after several months we decided to promote him to Regulator, he continued to produce good work which eventually lead to his promotion as a Moderator. At the end of last year we were looking for someone to update the Classic-Pirates.com frontpage and SlyOwl was the first to volunteer. He did a great job for a couple of months so we gave him an official title to acknowledge his efforts. There's still plenty of promotions left for him if he continues to do an outstanding job. As for other people... We have several ongoing projects - the development of Classic-Pirates.com, the Guide to the Pirate Mini-figure article series, a monthly newsletter and soon a MySpace profile. So we're always looking for people who have: Web design skills, like HTML, XHTML, CSS, Javascript, etc or serverside development skills like PHP and SQL. Graphic design or Desktop Publishing skills Photography skills - especially people with good cameras and lots of Pirate LEGO to take pictures of 2D or 3D animation skills Creative writers If someone can think of something we don't have then we're quite open to suggestions. Of course to get a promotion you need to have regular forum participation and you must contribute on a regular basis, so if you only make one or two contributions that probably won't cut it. You also must be reasonably skilled because there is a certain level of quality we aim It's not that high, but it's not that low either. So yes, many ways in which people can contribute. We even have a contributions form people can fill out if they wish to submit something, or people can just post in the forum.

Congratulations!!! You may have noticed Phred has been promoted to Moderator, well if you haven't, now you know!!! SlyOwl has also been promoted for his wonderful efforts ensuring that the Classic-Pirates.com frontpage is kept fresh and alive with new headlines. He shall now officially be known as the Classic-Pirates.com "News Editor" and receives a special tag: If he continues his brilliant work his next promotion may bring special powers... Let's all give them a round of congratulations! And be warned! If you contribute to Classic-Pirates.com for an extended period of time, you too are likely to receive a promotion!

Is anybody experiencing technical issues with the Pirate Forum?
Mister Phes replied to Mister Phes's topic in LEGO Pirates
Thanks for reporting that Sir Dano. I shall look into that ASAP. -
But I can and it will take me a mere 10 seconds! I'll have a look at your comic after I've finished my current task.

It's actually called the Wikipedia Links Library so if ever you encounter a useful Wikipedia then add it to the library. The recommended size is 800x600 because that will fit snuggly on resolutions as low as 1024 x 768, but the forum itself will resize images automatically to fit. It only does the resizing after they're fully loaded however.

I don't get why there is so much blood on the outside but I really like the flowerpot

Pictures like this can be a useful reference for MOCers who are attempting to build some historical accuracy into their ships. We do in fact have a Wikipedia Index on Classic-Pirates.com but I haven't had time to add links to it. There also a similar index thread on the forum maintained by Phred.

Wikipedia says: Phishing In computing, phishing is an attempt to criminally and fraudulently acquire sensitive information, such as usernames, passwords and credit card details, by masquerading as a trustworthy entity in an electronic communication. eBay, PayPal and online banks are common targets. Phishing is typically carried out by email or instant messaging, (1) and often directs users to enter details at a website, although phone contact has also been used. (2) Phishing is an example of social engineering techniques used to fool users. (3) Attempts to deal with the growing number of reported phishing incidents include legislation, user training, public awareness, and technical measures.

If it is the Affiliate Program then the short term solution is to add it to Internet Explorer 7's trusted sites. I found this on Microsoft's Official website: https://phishingfilter.microsoft.com/faq.aspx Q. Can I customize a list of trusted sites for Phishing Filter in Internet Explorer 7? A. As an Enterprise administrator or an individual user, you can add your own list of trusted sites for your company or yourself and then turn Phishing Filter off for the Trusted Sites zone. From the Internet Explorer Tools menu, click Internet Options. In the Internet Options dialog box, click the Security tab. Click the Trusted sites icon, and then click the Sites button. In the Trusted sites dialog box, enter the Web site URL (http://ilapi.ebay.com) in the Add this Web site to the zone box, and then click Add. Close the box. Click Custom level... and select Disable under Use Phishing Filter. You may have to scroll through several items. Click OK. I don't have Internet Explorer 7 so I can't test this out.

Do you remember if this occurred before the Affiliates Program was installed?

How long has everyone been experiencing these Phishing Alerts? Also mention the Operating System and Web Browser you're using.

Cutlass to foreshadow a return of the Pirate Theme?
Mister Phes replied to Siegfried's topic in LEGO Pirates
I've updated the poll to those figures plus whatever new votes have been submitted since it was re-created. So now we should be back on track after my horrendous blunder! I think this poll is worthy for our next Frontpage/Newsletter Poll. -
Cutlass to foreshadow a return of the Pirate Theme?

Are those (40:50:10) ratios or number of votes? Anyway... I've added the poll again... -

The pictures have been removed from the eBay "thing" (except the first two) so only text should be loading. They load really fast on my computer and I don't have an overly fast Internet connection nor a super powerful computer. If anybody else has been having similar problems then please let us know. -
Cutlass to foreshadow a return of the Pirate Theme?
Mister Phes replied to Siegfried's topic in LEGO Pirates
Congratulate me! I managed to accidentally merge this thread with another thread, so I've separated it again, but as a consequence the poll has been lost. Could someone remind me what the poll options were and roughly how many votes they had? -
Ummm.. Who is Jipay? Not familiar with that user. Dragon of Dark Yamines - we go so far back...

Frontpaged on Classic-Pirates.com!

Classic-Pirates.com will be down temporarily
Mister Phes replied to Mister Phes's topic in LEGO Pirates
I shall merge the two threads. The good news is Classic-Pirates.com should be back within the next few hours. Thanks for your concern. -

Mister Phes replied to Mister Phes's topic in LEGO Pirates
Why is nobody seeing the Classic-Pirates.com will be down temporarily thread?
