Pirate Building Event at Orlando LEGO Store
Mister Phes replied to Toa_Of_Justice's topic in LEGO Pirates
You've put a lot of thought into this haven't you? The point of this event is to promote the upcoming Pirate LEGO theme, so other than providing display space the Disney Company may not be playing a part in this event. It's a LEGO thing with and the only connection here is the "pirate" thematic". But perhaps you're right, maybe the LEGO Group has finally realised that Pirates have been hot since 2003 because of the first Pirates of the Caribbean film and they're finally jumping on the popularity bandwagon and what better way then to hold an event in a region already known as a PotC Stronghold amongst hardcores like yourself. Now a Haunted Mansion building contest on the otherhand would definitely not help promote the 2009 Pirate theme. And even if this building event wasn't because of the upcoming LEGO theme, the Haunted Mansion film wasn't that successful anyway so why would they bother? No point flogging a deadhorse. -
Yes, definitely put some material between the sails and the iron - a sheet or clothe will also suffice. DO NOT use steam or have any water in the iron! Humidity tends to introduce mildew to the sails and unslightly brown patches begin to appear.

Look what I just got - Report your latest Pirate LEGO acquisitions
Mister Phes replied to V()()D()()'s topic in LEGO Pirates
Actually, Eurobricks DOES NOT permit newly registered users to advertise LEGO for sale, so in any other Euorbricks forum this thread would be closed immediately. We prefer people to participate in our community for a period of time before using it as a Trading Post, however, since Mister Phes is very loving this thread can remain. -
I see news headlines already... "8 year old loves to build SYSTEM Pirates MOC!"

Uhhh... What\'s this topic got to do with Disney Mr Norrington? UPDATE The URL in the first post doesn\'t seem to be working for me - it leads to a page that says \"Not found\" in plain text. Is anyone else experiencing that problem? -

This is awesome! We shall get this on the frontpage of Classic-Pirates.com in the next vacant slot. -
Yeah, one day it might be a Skulls Eye Schooner on offer...

As Zorro stated (he's obviously read the terms and conditions carefully) images can be as large as 800 x 600 pixels.

It sure is. And partly an experiment too.

Well this thread certainly has received a good response! Lets congratulate Furious - he was the first to post so he wins! Furious, please contact me via PM with your postal address.

CONTEST: Pillage the Village - Terms & Conditions
Mister Phes replied to Mister Phes's topic in Pirate MOCs
You don't have to, but it's definitely an advantage if you do. That's fine So long as you keep it pirate themed that should be fine - but if looks like a MOC set in India then there could be problems. Pirates of the West Indies is what we're aiming for. -
Does that beautiful wench have the same face as you sigfig Hinckley?

CONTEST: Pillage the Village - Terms & Conditions
Mister Phes replied to Mister Phes's topic in Pirate MOCs
Dear entrants of Pillage the Village, Please ASK ALL questions egarding the Pillage the Village in the Terms & Condition thread. The two primary reasons are: 1) Somebody might have the same question 2) Eurobricks staff already receive a large number of Private Messages I personally will not be responding to anymore Private Messages question regarding the contest. -
That picture is much better quality! I wasn't too pleased with the one we used for the frontpage because it was rather grainy, so if one of the laddies could replace it with this one we'll be much better presented.

CONTEST: Pillage the Village - Terms & Conditions
Mister Phes replied to Mister Phes's topic in Pirate MOCs
Yes you may, however, what happens on another forum will not be taken into consideration here, so feedback by Creative Critics is only valid in the Eurobricks LEGO Pirate Forum. Also, the more exposure your thread has in this Pirate Forum the more aware voters will be at voting time. If you show your entry in another forum the users of that forum may not come to Eurobricks to vote. So strategise how presenting your entry on another forum could work to your advantage. It seems structured titling of the entry threads has not been enforced - previously I've been too busy to monitor it myself so it appears to be "whatever goes". So for now name it how you like. However, the inconsistency is really starting to bug me because it looks messy, therefore I may enforce a consistent naming convention and have all the entry threads renamed accordingly sometime in the near future. -
CONTEST: Pillage the Village - Terms & Conditions
Mister Phes replied to Mister Phes's topic in Pirate MOCs
Part of the challenge of the Pillage the Village Contest is for participants to promote and attract activity to their entry thread, as stated in the first post of this thread. It's also upto those aiming to receive a Creative Critic Award to find all the entry threads and leave constructive feedback. It's the 30th of November but we have a habbit of extending contest deadlines at Eurobricks! OOOPS! Did I just say that out loud! -
Erdbeereis1, I've had a quick look your review and I must say it's quite superb! I'm dead tired so I'm going to take a nap but I'll be back later to read it more thoroughly.

The reason is because I don't have Internet Explorer 8 BETA installed and since it's only in BETA version I wasn't sure that it was actually worth writing one. Those tutorials do take 60-90 minutes to write as well, so I'm only going to invest to invest the time if there is sufficient demand.

Only Moderators and Adminstrator can edit post titles so I've taken care of that for you. Interestingly enough I've never heard of those hats being called "Tricorners" it's always just been "Tricorn" but according to Wikipedia there is such thing as a Tricorner Knob! First MOC or not you've done very well! We want to help you get it out there so it can be seen as many people as possible.

Captain Kirk, this is an awesome MOC! But first of all isn't a "Tricorder" some technology which originated from Star Trek? (being Captain Kirk you should know ) Am in corrrect in assuming the title of this thread should be "The Captain's Tricorner" and that some mystical Star Trek influence has caused a typographical error?

RSS stands for Really Simple Syndication and its purpose is to easily and instantly distribute information across the Internet. Readers can subsribe to RSS Feeds and have information sent straight to their Web Browser or News Reader the moment it is published on the Internet. For example: Everytime the Classic-Pirates.com frontpage gets updated a headline is sent to the Web Browser or News Reader of everybody who is subscribed to the Classic-Pirates.com News Feed. They're instantly told something new has been added so all they need do is click upon the headline to go to the latest information. How great is that? The feed link is: http://www.classic-pirates.com/feed Don't know how to use RSS? Fear not! We've created a few tutorials to get you started. Visit the Classic-Pirates.com RSS Feed page for more information. Problems? Questions? Ask them here! If something isn't working or you're using a program we don't have a tutorial for then let us know!

Probably best we continue this discusson via PM. So check your inbox soon.

And we are indeed honoured to have your presence amongst us! The technique you've employed to create the hull is rather impressive. Even though it lacks the curvature found in the prefabricated hulls the inflection of the stern and bow isn't overly obtuse thus enabling the technique to work effectively. The Black Meg exemplifies using some ingenuity can allow builders to overcome limitations in their inventory which may otherwise prevent them from attempting to create certain types of MOCs. Highly inspirational!

How delightful, it's just a pitty the white tower is so oversaturatted it blends into the background. Still, I think this is worthy of the frontpage! Of course that image will need to be resized, and it looks like it also needs rotating about 2˚ Counter Clockwise.

Do you think this ship is worthy of the frontpage Captain Zuloo?
