  1. Very nicely done. It looks more "complete" than TLC's. Perhaps you could add some more foliage, it would look much better. Good job.
  2. You once said you wanted mine. I'd be willing to part with it for a price...
  3. Very well done. The incredible hulk and superman ones are the best. Perhaps you can deeplink the pics?
  4. As sad as it is, your right. Probably 120$ for the Endor bunker, and 27 for Hoth and the snail tank. Both overpriced. I'm pretty sure with most sets, TLC quadruples their price for producing the set, then if it's licensed tacks on a larger price tag. I'll get the Endor bunker as well as multiples of Hoth and the snail tank. Possibly the MD MF as well.
  5. Very well done. That tree's shape is very "Tom Thompson-esque" if you know who that is.
  6. I have a question most of you will find n00bish. Does the castle line have two distinct waves per year like SW or is there another release system I am unaware of? Sorry if this is a really dumb question.
  7. Yes, I remember that was on LAML radio. I think the personality being interviewed that time was Steve Witt. He said that when it comes to violent material such as The recent Batman movies, the Lego company does not want to encourage children to see said movies. He also said that the reason Harry Potter was discontinued was because the movies were getting darker and there was no longer any central action point, such as a distinctive vehicle or building, to base the sets around. So, violent games are out, obviously. And the games you mentioned: Sonic and Mario, lack that central distinctive point. What are you going to do, recreate a level of Mario, block for block, Goomba for Goomba, and so on? And end up with a set that only looks good from the side? (They are sidescrollers). I just don't see it happenning or working.
  8. Looks like another solid year for castle! Other than the fail chariot which is so simple and huge a 3-year old could have developed it, I'm liking the sets so far. By the looks of it, we're getting one exclusive figure per set, and the drawbridge defence and Troll Fortress are some of the best designed castle sets IMO. I love the new armor on the giant troll. With castle and SW having such solid years, I think all our wallets are about to become lighter... EDIT: Oh and greenbrick, your right, the price should be on par with the Knight's catapult defense of '07.
  9. Congratulations on winning those polybags! Don't go the CM way and sell them! Not like those rock monsters are worth as much as a chrome vader...
  10. Sadly, it doesn't seem that way... 350$ for the Dropship and AT-OT. Incredible set, good source of clones and all but at 1758 pieces 350$ is a freaking joke.
  11. As am I, Hinck. How long have we been waiting for a large Endor set? Rezourceman, what parts of 10195 do you find ugly. I personally love the AT-OT and the dropship, but the way they connect together, while probably quite stable, looks fairly ugly. Other than that, its perfect, but sadly I can't afford it. KimT, this is just like christmas, all these new pictures of the sets.
  12. Very nice MOC. Version 2.0 is way better.
  13. I think that's likely. A modular set or one that will be expanded in future would make the most sense. This topic has gotten huge, what with the unveiling of the Dropship/AT-OT combo. It looks like an awesome set, but way to expensive. I'll probably only be getting the Endor bunker, as well as multiples of the CIS tank droid and the Hoth set. Heres hoping for Hoth battle packs, first wave 2010.
  14. 350$ Canadian??? Thats way too expensive, no matter how good the set is. I've never wanted a set more, though... Palpy's final face looks screwed up, much like a lot of the other CW faces. The senate commando is definitely a new mold now, looks like I was right.
  15. Thats...thats just... incredible. I don't think TLC could have done anything better to get the people who aren't into the clone wars to try it out... Its my understanding that the dropship can lift up the AT-OT. 1758 pieces, though, and with 6-8 clones. I feel as though something terrible has happened... Suddenly I heard the wallets of thousands of people cry out, and then... silence...
  16. Thanks for all your comments guys. Just to clarify something because it probably wasn't clear enough in the first post: I wasn't trying to create anything completely movie-accurate, this is just my take on TLC's starfighters.
  17. Actually, I meant Obi's in episode 2, as well as Anakin's and Ahsoka's in the clone wars theme. I just think they could have been done better.
  18. Nice find. I think the "Elflands" teaser is a more concrete hint than the crossbow. Elves/Forestman/New faction in 2010 for the win!
  19. As Da Death Star said, nice find of the new '09 sets, what a great way to get started on EB! Welcome here, and I know you'll enjoy this awesome site.
  20. Very well done, and well-timed too! The wings look awesome, could you maybe take a picture of the back of the MF so I can see exactly how they're attached? Then it'll be easy for me to copy it.
  21. Here's a custom Jedi Starfighter I whipped up today. It was based off of the episode-2 era Delta-7 Aethersprite starfighter. I wanted mine to be bigger, longer, and sleeker than TLC's versions. So, here it is: Overall Shot: Another View: Cockpit: The Blaster Holder: Rear View, showing the engines: Birds Eye View: Let me know what you think! Try to be gentle with the C&C though, this is only my second attempt at MOCing.
  22. Well I, for the most part, think that the sets are well designed but they're getting more expensive. Nearly every one of the new 2009 sets is overpriced. But I really don't think TLC is sacrificing set quality for new minifigures.
  23. Yes, we will most likely have pictures of all the new sets, as well as prices, by the end of the toyfair. The only sets we really know nothing about are the Millennium Falcon and the Pirate Tank, so I hope we get some pictures of those soon.
  24. Basically the biggest problem is packing. Instructions and sticker sheets often get pushed to the bottom of the box and bent, and you're paying so much for some sets it seems like an easy enough thing to correct. I've noticed a bit of discoloration, and the occasional crushed droid arm ( ), but other than that, fix the packing.
  25. Welcome. Besides Power Miners ( ) what are your favorite themes?
