I guess having a portable LDD would be useful, but I wouldn't like having to manipulate all those little bricks on a small touch screen. In my opinion, that would be quite finicky and wouldn't be worth the effort.

Okay... one last dumb question!

Although you both posted confidential pics, you raise a good point. That newer design looks way better than the earlier one.

Yes, I'm pretty sure we're getting a new mold, its just that the new mold looks like a box with some "rockets" on the bottom. It just doesn't look like what its supposed to. Oh well, they're still prelim...
-
Yes, I believe it would be a similar material. This must be of concern to a lot of people, as Kit Fisto and Plo Koon go for great prices on ebay and BL, and I don't think anyone wants there figures value to diminish over time because the that rubber material starts to decompose.
-
This is one of those "I can't believe I never thought of that" type MOCs. It so simple but, clearly, so useful as well. Great job, and I'll probably steal the idea. Oh and KimT, I don't think its possible to stay on top of all the indexing this forum needs.
-
Thats a nice MOD, I wonder though, if it was that simple why wasn't it in the set in the first place. It certainly wouldn't have been too hard for TLC to do the same thing as you.
-
All those are very well done, especially the Twilight and the venator (it is a venator, right?). Either way, great ships, can't wait for that MTT. I'm sure it'll be good too!
-
Yes, your right, it looks basically like a box, none of this spikes stuff people have been talking about. Now that you mention it, it looks kind of ugly, I hope they change it before the set actually comes out.
-
Wow that is sad. Oh look, a sculpture with hours of hard work put into it. What shall we do with something that looks so cool? Sell it? Put it on dispay somewhere else? How about taking a sledgehammer to it!
-
Yes, thats interesting how they often do that. I wonder if its because they don't have the new mold ready or for some other reason. Although, I guess it doesn't matter as they still are preliminary pictures.
-
That looks good. Its obviously not as detailed as the TLC version, but I geuss its a good alternative because you can get the parts for cheap. Them thing that really makes it great is the posability though. Keep up the great work!
-
That looks very good, better than TLCs design at least. The whole ship looks quite accurate, but if I have one quibble, its that the front looks kind of blocky and the wrong shape, and could use some modifying. Other than that, though, great MOC!

Ooh, that is sad KimT. Thanks for accepting my input in regards to the name of the topic by the way. I haven't nearly enough baseplates to display all of my collection on them, though I do have most of my minifigures displayed on the ones I do have, and the actual vehicles/sets are just on tables (beats a closet) -
I mostly meant Madine.

Couldn`t someone just change the name and we could make this a discussion thread for tiles, plates, and baseplates? -
That would be something, but its unlikely to happen. You`ve named off some obscure characters there, and lego needs to appeal to a wide audience with a set. A set like that would need a whole bunch of new molds and would probably only sell well with AFOLs and hardcore SW fans.
-
That looks quite good. I like the way it all sort of slopes down, and that rail made out of technic pins is quite unique. The lava looks good also but couldn`t you add some fire as well?
-
Maybe, but I doubt they'll put any no-name aliens in. Well get Ackbar for sure, some rebels, and a pilot, maybe Mon Mothma, but no one who wasn't in any of the movies (although it would be nice to have a couple of Ackbar-style heads).
-
Very funny! Are those arms custom molded?
-
Well, I'm from Ontario, although I'm not sure how much this will help any of you. My local chain stores have a bunch of the new power miners, loot island and the soldiers fort for pirates, and both BPs as well as the droid bomber and vader's TIE for star wars.
-
Thats incredible. I would have preferred if TLC had released this as a larger-scale set such as this rather than the scaled-down one we got.

Welcome to EB. true city fans seem to be few and for between these days as most people like SW, pirates, and castle...including me! Again, welcome to the forum, I know you'll like it here. -
I'm very sorry about that, I forgot to change the settings on my camera to automatically take pics at a smaller res. Do I have to resize the pics then re-upload them to brickshelf? EDIT: I have resized all pictures and they seem to be displaying correctly.

Looking good so far. I see your using that great MOC AT-TE. One complaint I do have, though, is that you have kind of a mixture of Phase 1 and 2 clones. Other than that, it looks awesome. can't wait to see what it looks like when its finished.
