  1. If this wave is all "unique" characters, then I'm certainly interested in seeing what is in it. That being said, I don't have a major problem with "companion figures" as I tend to display mine in groups (warriors, horror, mythical etc.) so the more figures to add to whichever army is always good. However I am excited to see who is added, especially for the "sections" I collect; the Egyptian and Arabian warrior are two of my favourites from recent waves so I'm hoping for something unique in the next one. That being said - unpopular opinion time - I'd take a wave of pure repeats (i.e. female ninja, gold or female knight, a different style of male vampire etc.), or a wave of "boring" figures (i.e. the kind I don't care for, like city folk) over the Batman wave. I'm not a big fan of the licences based CMF waves in general as I prefer seeing the unique ideas Lego can come up with and I'm generally pretty sick and fed up of Batman in general in movies, Lego, comics etc. As someone who loves the CMF series I'm annoyed we're only getting one "proper" wave next year; I hope 2018 has two or three.
  2. Thanks for that. A touch annoying as I'm visiting a city this weekend that usually has a great supply of the figures and are happy for you to stand there and feel the bags.
  3. I'm the opposite. Desert Warrior is the one of the ones I want the most and will happily pass on Mariachi and Hiker. [Edit] Has there been any news on a UK/Europe release?
  4. Thanks for clarifying. I found a few cheap versions of 3837 on eBay so I may grab one of them, or see if I can get the head alone. I did also get 853516, so I may need to grab another one as I'd like to leave the ones I already have intact.
  5. Love the Devil modifications. As someone who's hoping to do something similar, what figure(s) did you get the head, torso and legs from? Edit - Would I be right in thinking the torso and legs come from a Nexo Knight Lava minion?
  6. I know they've done the flame in blue for water (i.e. http://www.ebay.co.u...=item4d15d139b1 and http://www.ebay.co.u...r-/231268123174), but I'd really like to see some kind "pressure blast" for water, maybe similar in shape to the new web strand they've given Spider-Man. I'd also like to see more vine based accessories, and maybe some thorns and leaves (razor leaves perhaps?) for wood.
  7. I'm the opposite, but more because water is my favourite element. That being said I do think it's great we're getting wood as well as I feel it's an underused element. I'm looking forward to hopefully seeing some new "elemental" pieces for those two. Also Fire, Wood and Water. Could we get Earth and Metal as well, giving us the Five Chinese Elements...?
  8. I agree with you about the lack of that awful new dress piece (thanks to that, my King is without a Queen). I was looking at one of the previous leaked pics a few days ago and started to worry she'd have it. However I personally disagree with you about how the ice powers are represented. I've been a fan of the Ninjago Elemental Blades for a while so I'm always happy to see them, especially in new colours and it looks like they'll slot into a new piece/existing piece in a new colour. As well as the Ice Queen, I love the three "warriors" from this wave - Pirate, Arabian Warrior and Rouge and can't wait to add them to my "Warrior Collection" on my work desk. I also like the three costume figures, female kick boxer and the cyborg. The rest are a massive meh for me personally (bar maybe the Spooky Boy and Spy), so I'll be skipping them.
  9. Ahh brilliant. Thanks NotMegalodon.
  10. I recently ordered the horse from issue 2 of the Nexo Knights magazine on eBay but was surprised to find it didn't come with any instructions. While I've put it together as best I could based off the photo on the front, I was wondering if anyone knew if any proper instructions exist and/or where I could find better photos as I feel some elements are wrong.
  11. I stumbled across an eBay listing for it last night. I'm tempted to wait to see if a cheaper version comes along later (especially if it's released in other countries) and I'm hoping they'll do a pack for the other four. Having JUST an "unmasked" Lance without the rest in my collection would really bug me :P.
  12. Although I knew a few weren't shown at the ToyFair, I'll be honest when I say I don't really remember those sets. Hopefully more pictures and/or explanations will come closer to the time.
  13. As someone who only really collects the ninja figures and McGuffin Weapons, I'm annoyed the new versions of the core four are limited to one, quite expensive set (so far anyway). I can't really justify buying the set for them and I know eBay will likely have a larger markup on them than usual. Maybe they should have made Summer 2016 "Skybound part 2" and left "Rise of the Villains" for 2017 so there would be more options for the figures and McGuffin Weapons
  14. I'm liking the designs for Kai, Jay, Cole, Zane and Lloyd on the rotating table and look forward to getting them. However it's a shame Nya is "behind" and won't be getting her own figure in that style (unless maybe it's exclusive to a future book or box?). I am wondering which sets Jay and Lloyd are in as from what I could see the only versions of them I saw were Skybound. Also is it me or does the Cole in the set with the purple ninja have orange hands (and possible partially orange arms; it's around 2:06) but on the spinning table (3:27) they're grey arms with black hands? it may be a prototype figure or possibly a tint caused by the cockpit but I'm convinced they look orange.
  15. I've always seen the Egyptian Warrior's sword as a Khopesh, so I don't think an Arabian Knight would use one. Perhaps the AK will come with the same scimitar that Samurai X had in the 2012 Ninjago Booster pack?
  16. I'm really liking the sound of Cyborg, Ice Queen, Female Kickboxer, Rogue, Arabian Knight and Scallywag Pirate. I think they'd all look great in my Sci Fi, Fantasy, Fighter and Warrior groupings (especially considering how lacking series 15 was for warriors). The three costumes, Spy and Spooky Boy could be interesting as well but I'd like to see how they look first. The rest are a massive pass for me personally.
  17. As I said before, I'm really liking how all the McGuffin weapons look in their transparent neon yellow/black/with a gem in the base designs. I'll defiantly look at getting all of them. Also great to see the Purple Ninja, complete with the old style hood. I am, however, a tad disappointed some of the core six have the new style of head wrap, others have just the face mask and a few are in their Skybound design. Unless Nya is the Purple Ninja, I don't see any figs of her in a possible "Realm of Shadows" suit; just Skybound. Granted I am wondering if maybe the "Realm of Shadows" figs come with both the full headwrap and face mask and hair, allowing people to have them in either design but if not it's a bit of a shame as after seeing the Zane and Kai figures earlier, I was hoping all would have that design. Likewise it looks like it's normal Lloyd on the dragon, so my Gold Lloyd can still "live" with the NRG figures but in turn I was keen to see a proper NRG fig of him. Still I am keen to see more pictures of everyone and I'll be getting all the ninjas and McGuffin Weapons. I'd better start saving.
  18. Now that you mention it (and after a quick Google), there does seem to be some similarities. I wouldn't mind getting those suits as figures.
  19. I'm guessing that's only the first lot of pictures and we'll hopefully see more soon. I'm curious to see Lloyd's NRG design; I've been displaying Gold Lloyd in the NRG display so I may need to re-make that display and perhaps find a new home for Gold. I wonder if we'll get NRG Nya at a later point as well.
  20. I'm liking the unified look/colour palette of the "mcguffin weapons". I'm looking forward to seeing how the others look in full detail. Also is it me or do the robes worn by Kai and Zane in the third to last and last image look like the style of robes from the very first wave? Could this mean we'll be getting a crimson and green version of them, allowing us to "de-make" wave 1 and Kendo versions of Nya and Lloyd? Ever since they did DX Lloyd I've been wanting to see pre-ZX costumes for him and likewise when Nya became the Cyan/Crimson ninja. I'm also liking the white/grey and red/crimson masks and I'm keen to see the colour combinations for the other characters, especially if the rumoured purple ninja is in a similar style. Also is there a chance Nya could be the purple ninja? Red + Blue = Purple and anyone who's played Mortal Kombat knows the purple ninja, Rain, utalises some water based abilities. I'd prefer her to have a colour that isn't just a darker version of her brother's.
  21. Before I go into this, I should mention I collect six "brackets" of CMF - Sci Fi, Warrior, Monster, Mythology, Hobbist (namely extreme sports or someone who does a form of martial arts or fighting) and Costume. As a result, the "City" figures - in this case Animal Control, Janitor, Jewel Theif, Farmer, Dancer and Clumbsy/Crutches Guy - also almost always an instant pass for me, unless they coincide with something I have an interest in. I may get the Jewel Theif when I see more of her but that remains to be seen. As for the figures who fall into my "groupings" Sci Fi Laser Robot - A little dissapointed they've gone with that design again but I like the parts and the elemental sword. I may give it a hilt as it doesn't look like it comes with one though. Astronaut - Not sure on this one. I'm tempted to get him for my "Sci Fi" collection, but he does look more civilian than the others. I may wait for the review. Warrior Knight - Looks great to me, especially with the new mace and shoulder armour. Will defiently get him. Queen - On the one hand I feel I should get her as a companion for the King. On the other hand, I treat the King as a "Warrior" and she doesn't look like one. I may get her anyway and give her a sword she can stand shoulder to shoulder with my Warrior King. Tribal Lady - Again, mixed. I had hoped I could add her to the tribal side of my warriors, adding in some much needed gender diversity. I may bin the baby and replace it with a bow and arrow. Mythology Winged Warrior - This guy looks amazing! Satyr - As a "mythology" figure he was an automatic buy and I love what I've seen so far. Hobbist Wrestler - He looks like an excellent tribute to the Ultimate Warrior. I never watched wrestling growing up but have watched enough YouTube Reviewer videos to get an appreciation for how loopy this guy was. Kendo Warrior - A little dissapointed they went with katanas instead of a bokken or shinai. While I've not trained in Kendo I was under the impression it never used actual swords (or at least these days). Saying that the swords do look good in beige but I may replace them with the staff from the Ninjago range as I feel it would make an excellent bokken/shinai. Costume Shark Suit Guy - Will defiently be getting him. I am aware the Queen and Tribal Women aren't technically warriors and it's more my modifications that would classify them as such. I'd have prefered it if they fitted into that grouping by default but I realise I'm probably in the minority.
  22. That's a brilliant idea, thanks. I'm hoping maybe he'll have a reversible head, like the Galaxy Trooper, one showing a normal face and one that blends in with the costume but if not that sounds like an excellent work around; thanks for the suggestion.
  23. Exactly. Heck a purely "City" based theme would bore me as I have no interest in them. Having said that, I'm mixed on what we've seen so far. I've been missing "Horror" figs in the CMF line since Mr. Good and Evil, and had hoped variants of Monster Fighters who hadn't been part of CMF (i.e. swamp monster and ghost) would join in future waves. I love the idea behind the tiger lady and fly trap man, but hate the fact they're costumes (so far anyway) rather than actual monsters. Granted I could MAYBE turn the fly trap into an actual monster with the right coloured head but I don't know how well it would work. The skeleton and mad scientist look a bit too goofy for my tastes BUT if I were to get them I'd probably modify them with a new head, hair etc. to give them more of a horror vibe. However the rest all look pretty good to amazing (I really like the zombie pirate, vampire lady and werewolf) and I feel would fit in well with my existing CMF monster figs so I will defiantly get them if nothing else. Overall I was quite interested in this wave, hoping it would be sixteen monsters, some being awesome updates and others being never before seen monsters. I'm not saying what we have is terrible but it certainly didn't quite hit my expectations. Hopefully the more "final" versions and the remaining five could help turn my opinion around.
  24. Unfortunately I got him loose off eBay and didn't notice until about three months later.
  25. I'm curious to see more of the new costumes, but it's annoying as it means I'll have to see if I can find the figs loose for a good price on eBay. Having said that the Leo I got last year had the wrong coloured legs so I'm hoping a "plain" Leo is in a cheap set so I can replace him. Fingers crossed he's in the Karai set.
