  1. Awesome stuff, what gear ratio are you using for the driving motors? I would have thought it would require more than 16 XL motors.
  2. I design with LDD, any mechanical/moving parts I do a concept test with my spare parts.
  3. It's down right stupid to stop all production of studded beams, there are certain things that just can't be done or done as well with studless beams. Sometime in the next few years i'm planning to build some large cranes, building a large strong lattice boom out of studless parts would be much harder.
  4. Nice work and good to hear. As for the parts, just buy more - wouldn't cost much. I personally never pull apart any finished MOCs or official sets.
  5. That's an awesome MOC. I'm guessing it was because with the studded beams you can use plates to brace/hold together the joins.
  6. As far as I know the 'yellow' gears would be stronger/less likely to spill or come off the axle.
  7. I was surprised to see someone else on here who does weightlifting as well. Yeah we'll have to talk training one day, not in this thread though.
  8. I think you may have miss-understood my post. I hope I can clear it up... I wasn't putting any limits on anything and agree with you about getting better every year. My point was that it can/does take a long time to get really good at something, (some people more then others due to natural ability). Also off-topic, I do weightlifting as well.
  9. I think another important factor in skill with Lego in general is how much time you've spent on it. I'v read that it takes around 10,000 (or 417 days) hours to reach your best at most hobbies and sports.
  10. Looks awesome, maybe turn AA on if your PC can handle it. Will clean those pictures up a bit, also are you sure that won't flip over? Doesn't matter as long as they don't all run at once.
  11. Semi on topic, how many L motors can you run off one battery box with the new V2 IR?
  12. How does everyone keep their displays clean? I personally hate my Lego getting dusty, so when the current house renovations are finished i'm going to have 3 large sealed cabinets built into the walls. One that's ~3500 x 2100 x 750mm, ~3000 x 2100 x 600 and another thats already built thats ~2100 x 2100 x 600. Also Alvin B that's an insane collection.
  13. Real-man sized trucks. Easy, I brought them off bricklink.
  14. I'm bit a hoarder haha, but those are all for current/future projects.
  15. Almost all my Technic is wrapped up in plastic bags as i'm renovating my house and my new display cabinets aren't built yet. The only thing I could find to get a picture of worth while was my larger wheels, 22 power puller wheels + 32 Uni-mog tyres.
  16. Can you maybe use more colours then black, makes it hard to see whats going on sometimes. Edit: Didn't see your last post.
  17. That one awesome looking truck, keen to see it built.
  18. First thing that comes to my mind is, only 1x M PF motor to drive 3 axles? I would use at least 1x XF PF motor (I personally like 1 per axle, but that's probably overkill).
  19. To people who buy for parts, wouldn't you often run out if a certain part you need, or colours you wanted to use?
  20. In my opinion its not a true Lego MOC if anything other then official Lego parts are used, or parts are modified. I believe part of Lego is doing the best you can with the set pieces provided. Other was it removes some of the challenge of Lego if you can use anything you want.
  21. I buy a set for the model, if I want parts for a MOC I design it first in CAD then create a part list and buy off bricklink. That way I know come building time I have all the parts I need, not having to make on the fly changes I don't like as I'v run out of something.
  22. That is just insane, really love it. Can't wait to see the next step.
  23. This is awesome, I love massive projects.
  24. I haven't added up how much my star wars lego is worth, would be worth a few thousand.
