I think we should move on if that's alright with the rest of you. -
Exclusive Train 10194 Emerald Night (Exclusive 2009)
Erdbeereis replied to der seb's topic in LEGO Train Tech
That's really a brilliant set. The choice of dark green and tan for the colors is nice, and a good way to get more of the two. I also think that the design is lovely. It's very smooth but still retains the LEGO charm. I do agree with Hinckley that some train doors would have been nice. These look a bit blocky for my taste, but when you use bricks that's usually what happens. Another thing I'm happy about is the resonable price. $100 is a perfect price point for this set. Overall, an A+!- 559 replies

That's lovely Hinck! One of my favorite entries up to this point. The idea is hilarious and all of the details on the building are superb, especially the turntables. However, I hate to say it but I wanted to warn you that this may be a bit too large for the contest... Just wanted to point that out. I don't want this fantastic work to get disqualified. Anyways, stunning MOC and thanks for sharing!

That's a Death Eater from Harry Potter.

Mystery Manor - Chapter Five

My goodness Mr. Sinclair, if you do any more actions I believe you may well wear yourself out! Don't injure your well-tuned body for the sake of solving a murder. -
Mystery Manor - Chapter Five

Sheesh! Lord Chester certainly wasn't the most organized guy was he.... I'd like to inspect the barrels and chests, and then pretend to steer a ship with that lovely steering wheel. -
Power Miners: New Sets for 2009
Erdbeereis replied to cartoondude's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
I'm sort of divided on these so far... At first glance they look kind of skeletal, and I don't really like the designs as much as the ones in the first wave. But then again, they don't look too bad and the large set has some interesting concepts. I do have to say that I definitely don't understand that Crystal King. Is he like the leader of the monsters or something? That set's design is very odd and I'm not a big fan of it. As for the medium sized set, I haven't gotten a good enough view of it to decide, but it certainly is different with all of the saws on the front. As with the first wave, we'll just have to wait and see for ourselves! -
Have a happy birthday Ras! Hope you have a great one.

The disney deal, implications to the pirate theme?
Erdbeereis replied to n'henk pas's topic in LEGO Pirates
I personally hope to just see this line continue for a long time. I'm just not a fan of the fantasy aspect of PotC, and I really didn't enjoy the movie. What's nice about non-licensed themes is that the designers don't have to stick to movie locations and vehicles. We'll never see a second version of the Armada if we get PotC sets. -
Thanks everyone! I'm honored, and hope to do a great job. Zorro, I can't access the Academy now though....

It's official, I love this theme! The minifigs are so fun, and the vehicles look lovely as well. Great to see that the GE has at least some interior. I'm glad to see that the prices are quite resonable, It's a great year for LEGO Space!

Woo hoo! Finally my dream of Hannah Montana LEGO sets comes true! This certainly has some promise, I look forward to seeing how these will turn out. I will be curious about the minifigs. Thanks for the news!

I must say, I'm quite pleased at the look of these. I'm very happy that the prices aren't totally jacked up like I feared, and the sets look wonderful.

The Falcon must have a heck of a lot of small pieces considering the piece count is 356... While the set doesn't really excite me, it does have a very nice design. The Pirate Tank looks quite lovely in my opinion. A nice brownish color scheme compared to the usual greys and whites of Star Wars. I'm looking forward to seeing what the finished pirates will look like.

My local Target often has sales on Star Wars and other more popular themes as well. Frankly, I really like Power Miners. I just think the theme as a whole is a fun concept and I love the minifigs. They also have some nice MOCing pieces such as the dynamite and the roll cages, not to mention all of the lime green.

It starts on the 15th, but I'm not sure what day LEGO is shown. I'm looking forward to great pictures!

Yessiree. We saw a toy cutlass, an ice cube tray (Hinck's favorite ) and Sir Nadroj saw some piratey minifigs in an Arizona LEGO store, which turned out to be the real deal. So, this has promise!

Absolutely stunning. I could list everything I like, but then we'd be here all day so I'll leave it at that. Fantastic MOC.

Nice. Das Rock sieht gut aus auf deine Sig-Fig. -
Yes. I think someone confirmed this a few pages back as I recall... Probably the guy that "reviewed" it doesn't even own the set, and was just judging from the picture and from previous magnet sets, which were glued.
-
I think it's safe to say I've done my fair share. Judging from the fact that you can only buy a limit of 5 per set, I'd say the theme is doing just fine.

Funny idea for a topic! Here's mine. Way back on January 31 2008 in the Star Wars news thread.

Yum yum yum. One of my favorite cakes, think of me when you gulp it down.
