The set looks pretty nice, but I'm getting sick of those pathetic little alien vehicles. The only sets with a good alien ship are the Space Truck and the Hyperspeed Pursuit. I hope that next year we'll get a larger sort of "Main Alien Ship Headquarters" or something.
-
Of that I'm not sure. I only help with planning the pirate contests at the moment. But Zorro said that there will be a contest soon.
-
We already have the contest theme planned. Like Zorro said, it'll be around October.

I'll merge this with the "What's your favorite food" thread, since they are very similar. EDIT: The 2 have now become 1. Welcome to "What's your favorite food?"!

The Eurobricks Reviewers Academy
Erdbeereis replied to Bonaparte's topic in Forum Information and Help
It all depends on how long it takes you to take and upload pictures, write the review Etc. But it definitely is not something that will take over your life. The courses are not long. The first one for example is learning how to set up a good photo studio and how to take good clear pictures. And you can work as quickly or as slowly you like, there's no time limit at all. It really is very painless, we have only had 4 heart attacks in the Academy to this day. I hope to see you in the Academy, I'm sure you'll love it! -
Just be patient guys, when the time comes trust me, it will live up to your expectations. But Joey Lock, I don't think it would be fair to not allow some of the best builders into a contest, imagine not letting Tiger Woods play in golf, or Roger Federer not playing in tennis. Just do your best, even if you don't win contests are an excellent way to practice your building skills.

This really doesn't belong on this website, sorry. I know this is the community forum, but it's a bit over the top. Closed.

Another great, entertaining, and yes, of course goofy interview! I always have fun reading EB news. Keep up the good work guys!

Not a big fan of that one... It has some nice parts, but the set doesn't have a good design in my opinion. Thanks for the image! I wonder when we'll get pictures of the last set....

Fangy, the set number is 7198. See, I told you it isn't easy to review things while tired. Great review, I especially like your video. This set is just OK for me. Better than I expected, but still not enough to warrant such a high price. The minifigs are nothing special; we could have at least gotten a few seagulls. The planes do have a nice design though, and the play features are quite fun. I give it a 3 as well. Thanks a lot for the review!

Diet Coke in a glass with ice.

Oh yes Svelty, this one is a winner. The idea is simply hilarious (I especially love the comic at the end. ), and everything else from the colors to the design is superb. It looks so accurate compared to the Fighter Tank, but still has its own Squiddy feel. My favorite so far by a long way.

I think we still will get Indy sets. I'm not positive, but somehow I don't think TLG would scrap that great and popular line for this reason alone. If it goes, it's more likely that they've run out of ideas.

Very nice review! Even though this set is a bit overpriced, it has a lot things going for it as well. It's really fantastic to get a car for a minifig in a set, and this one has nice modern design. I absolutely love the extras here. The tree is a welcome addition and that emergency telephone is a brilliant idea. Thanks again for showing us this!

Sorry for the double post. I just got an email from S@H, saying some new sets were out. On it they had a Space Police banner with the $50 set on it. But, it still isn't on the actual US website! Hopefully this means it's on its way though.
-
I'm sure they will make it to the US. It wouldn't make any sense if they wouldn't come considering all of the other sets are out, and we saw them at the Toy Fair. We just have to wait a month or 2. I think we should hopefully be able to survive, eh? EIDT: Didn't someone say the larger sets were coming out in July or something?

Absolutely outstanding wheelchair Etzel. It's so nicely to scale, and it just looks so smooth. I'll certainly keep the design in mind.

I have one of the old shooting cannons with a brown base, and I think 18 of the new ones. Dr Steve, that's quite a collection.

The only thing is that you can't change your name unless a staff member does it for you. Your name is too much of a personal thing for anyone else to suggest one in my opinion, but good luck!

Are you sure you're on the right website buddy? That sounds a bit strange.

While I know it might make TLG money to do licensed sets, I really really wish they would just stick to maybe 1 or 2 (SW and Indy) and then focus more on their own fantastic lines like Castle, Pirates and Space, and bring along a few other new original themes. For example, not everyone loves Power Miners but they are solid sets for the most part and above all, it's an original LEGO idea. Bring us some new or updated versions of old themes. Ninjas, Western, stuff like that I'd take over licensed alien crap any day.

Hmm.... I've only seen commercials for that show and it honestly looks very strange to me. Kind of an odd choice for LEGO in my opinion, but I guess not any stranger than Spongebob or Avatar. It could bring some cool new pieces if nothing else, but I'll stick to my non-cartoon themes for the time being.

All great entries, but in the end I voted for Hinck. I loved that almost all of the pieces he used were really "classic", even though he's definitely not old. The building had great design yet still maintained the feel of an older set. Excellent work from everyone!

The only minifigs I've really purposefully collected a lot of are the new Pirate Redcoats, I just love the way they look and I currently have about 50. Besides that I don't like to build huge armies, mainly because I can't do as much with them as I could if I would use the money for sets with more bricks, and Bricklink. That being said, I love to get as many minifigs as I can, just not tons of one type.

Yes, those pieces around the engines look new.... The 2 biggest SP sets look absolutely outstanding. I'm very excited for them.
