  1. I really liked the look of the bridge. The stonework had some nice detail. May I suggest a single colour backdrop would improve your photographs? I unfortunately don't have a light box/lamp set-up, and simply use the camera on my cellphone, so my photos aren't great by any means; but I find a sheet of coloured poster board (which I bought at the dollar store) helps with the presentation.
  2. Great scene and a better start to your Sea Rat career Tomskippy.
  3. Thanks for the kind words. Nice to see I came up with a new technique (or possibly new). I stole that one. Not all that happy with the rug. I ran into problems trying to get a small checked one that would lie on an angle. The rest I am happy with though.
  4. October 19, 618: Ms. Muggins Rooming House, Bastion Dear Mayor Von Bricktin, After months of inactivity, I find myself in mind of a change for the good of the service. It is therefore with regret that I must inform you that I am resigning my commission in the Charlatan Bay merchant marine and position as Commodore. This is to take effect immediately. As a number of my officers will be joining me in resignation from your employ, the command of the Toucan shall pass to whomever you deem fit. All the luck to you and Charlatan Bay, -Captain Silas Pike "KINGSTON!" "Mi deh yah Cap'n. Gwan den?" "I have just finished writing my retirement letter for that trumped-up goose of a two-bit smuggler who somehow now controls Charlatan Bay. I have taken the liberty of informing Von Bricktin you and the officers will be also be leaving with me. Once you read this letter, you'll under why I took such a liberty." "Mercy! Can tis be true?! Dat old man be still alive after all dat we eard?" "Yes. It appears the tales of his demise with the fall of Charlatan Bay were nothing but false rumours. Not only that, but he has gathered a pirate fleet and offered us the captaincy of his latest prize, a mardierian sloop-of-war." "Much respect me and de bredren have for 'im. Mi a forward wit you. Dese glad tidins." "I have to agree. It will be nice to work with proper villains again." ===/===/===/=== Just a little scene I dreamed up a few weeks back after I realized we lack any analgous Caribbean culture in the BoBS world. And because I am very frugal, I'll license this as a small residence.
  5. Thanks for the confidence, but I don't have all the keys to the castle yet.
  6. Yes, it is a black flag fleet.
  7. Oct, 618 - Parts Unknown To whom it may concern, I wish to condemn the unmocced vessel 'Magnolia (3)' as a prize. This "fell out of the sky" and into my possession during the recently completed August/September MRCA. -Missive from the Yellow Skull fleet
  8. The leadership is presently in a cycle of discussions/revisions regarding Sea Rats and player piracy in general. This has produced the following three rules that come into effect as of today: Note that a second set of changes are still being worked on to complete this revision cycle.
  9. Welcome aboard @TomSkippy! I look forward to seeing more of Oilskin Jonny's adventure. /puts on official's cap I'll get you added to the super secret Sea Rat threadtm in a moment, and work on getting you an account set up (@Phred) . In the mean time feel free to pm me any questions regarding the byzantian paperwork of BoBs
  10. I love the tree, and very nice overall.
  11. Presenting my first LDD ship, representing a recent capture: the Mya.
  12. Hi @Phred, I just goofed and licensed my recent class 4 capture, the Mya. Unfortunately it seems it already had an entry under Mardier, which was transferred to me without my realizing it. So I have managed to create a duplicate entry for it through ignorance. Could you please delete the ship entry for Mya under my name that does not point to my MOC? Apologies, -Kwatchi
  13. The sloop-of-war Mya was commissioned during the recent Eslandolan war, and served as a post dispatch and reconnaissance ship. More recently she has served in the role of a convoy escort as Mardier, plagued by numerous recent set-backs, is in desperate need of supplies provided by the colonies to the east to keep her aspirations alive. Coming under fire while sailing in September '618, she struck her colours and was taken as a prize (along with the scamp trader Magnolia) by the black-flagged frigate Hand of Fate. She now sails as a pirate herself under the banner of the Yellow Skull fleet. --x--x--x-- The Mya is a class 4 Mardierian warship captured during in the August/September MRCA that I will be licensing for free. After a few false starts, I realized my brick collection would not allow me to build the class 4 narrow hulled vessel I wanted unless I worked in black (which means the detail never turns out well in my pictures) or used pre-fab hull section (which made it too "chibi"). Taking inspiration from @Roadmonkeytj 's recent flurry of activity, I tried my hand at LDD for the first time this past weekend and came up with this ship. after 14+ hours I still have problems manipulating chains/pipes and the fact I can't pan the view is irritating, but I am very happy with my result. So much so in fact that I might try my hand at something bigger... eventually.
  14. That the jist of where we stand. It is simply matter of someone finding time to write the results up properly.
  15. It is a trader... in lead, and business is good! i really have to teach myself LDD - this is impressive.
  16. Ok. This got a chuckle out of me. And the fact that Bruhaha keeps showing up makes me smile.
  17. I'm personally not keen on the roof design, but I appreciate the effort and details on building & foliage. Good MOC.
  18. Anyone have a link to the Prize Court thread?
  19. Thanks to @Bregir for getting the calculations done, and once again thanks to @Capt Wolf for his write up. The beating heart of BoBS is back in action! Ya. I'm not sure I'd call losing a cl.7 for a cl.3 & cl.4 a success tbh. BUT I guess I didn't lose my entire fleet first time out though, so that's a win! I/we have no record of a licensed SR ship named "White Hawk". I'm trying to figure that one out at the moment.
  20. This is a nice little warehouse scene. Good job.
  21. A nice scene and good photography (the white roof frame bleeds into the background though). I rather liked the green roofing, so I am glad you went that route. What did you use for the window screens on the lower level? I'm stumped
  22. That's a enough of that, you meme warriors. It's not an ideal situation, but the court will figure it out as soon as we can.
  23. News certainly travels slowly in Eslandola. That is some very detailed sculpting of the water. Kudos for all that effort - it paid off in a lovely vignette.
  24. And the first micro build is up; Fort Maartens in Poppy Port!
