  1. I ever like to see musicians, doesn't matter which ones exactly. I also dream a bout new, real music instrument pieces A second choice would probably be all thinkable people that are needed in a courthouse.
  2. Thanks for the review! Rock Raiders was one of the last new themes i knew as a kid before my dark ages came. Unfortunately i never managed to get any sets from it, beside a few months ago the 4910 The Hover Scout, which i review a while ago. Wish i can get some of the bigger sets in the future.
  3. It also depends on if there are numbered bags or not, most likely there won't be. I spent about 8 hours assembling the UCS Imperial Star Destroyer (with breaks), so i assume you'll have to plan in two full free days for this one, if you don't want to stay up till the late night.
  4. Why don't you just go on peeron.com and type in the item number? all sets where the piece is used will show up.
  5. It took a long time, but now here it is, the Review of the X-Treme Team Set 6584 Extreme Team Challenge. TheBrickster asked me a few weeks ago to do this, since he unfortunately never owned this great set, so here we go! First i have to say, that i really love this late 90's Town Theme, and i wish there would have been produced more sets. This is the only one i own, well, beside that i also still have 6572 Wind Runners, but the car is missing. Anyway, let's face the facts and let the pictures speak for themselves! Sub-Theme: X-Treme Team Set Nr.: 6584 Name: Extreme Team Challenge Number of minifigs: 4 Number of pieces: 354 Release Year: 1998 Let's start off with a few quick shots of the box & instructions: Inside of the box: We got some ideas for alternative models on the backside (the same ones are also on the backside of the instructions): Instructions: Here's an overall view of this huge set: We get 4 minifigs, each with different heads and color patterns, which i really like: ...and also a good amount of equipment for them: Let's move on with the cool vehicles, there are 3 (!) completely different ones in this set, first is the neat little trike: Next, the not less neat "4-wheeled off-road-thing" (don't know what's it called really ): And finally the huge Monster truck, i love the chrome sidepipes and the wench with the hook in the back, which adds a lot of playability: Oh, i almost forgot our brave adventurers also have got a raft to ride the wild mountain waters: Now let's focus on the many details of the mountain base. We got a bridge over troubled waters, but be aware, it's very unstable! Love the wood patterns on the yellow 1x6 tiles: On a corner a camera is mounted to document the wild life: For the evenings we also got a little campfire: Down by the river sits a grey falcon and watches the guys on their challenges: What's that? Seems not very safe, to be honest..be aware when you pass by these rocks.... ....cause it will collapse! Let's move up again where the tent is placed, inside is plenty of space to take a rest for the figs and to store their equipment: But i think they should have built the tent on another place cause the ground isn't very good there: When you pull the mechanism, a trap door opens: Will the guys all come back home safe and not injured? You decide! All in all this is a really great set, ome may say it is a bit <insert that tiresome argument> because of the baseplate, but it really isn't. It's got a LOT of playability and some rare parts, the biggest beeing the baseplate which is only available in this set. I hope you liked my review, let me know your opinions!

This seems plausible to me, i really would have been disappointed if it was one big piece
  7. Metallica - The Day That Never Comes Death Magnetic is going to ROCK
  8. That won't bother us too much as i think about 90 percent here saved the pics on their harddrives
  9. I'm SO signing this, thanks very much for pointing this out! That's exactly what my thoughts are
  10. I know, it's an all new piece for the pirate line and even in GOLD! Can't wait to get my hands on these sets
  11. I had 6395 until last week, i also did a review of it a little while ago here. Unfoertunately i had to sell some of my bigger sets because of money need and a loss of space. It was a hard decision but i had to do it
  12. Pirate Kraken Set: http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/lokosupe...ay/p1000882.jpg I think agents will be a summer realese, same as castle, that's why there are no pictures yet.

I must say i also love the new construction sets, not only the farm sets which are I agree that they might be oversized, but we already have that with some of the new coast guard sets and other stuff. If the size is beeing blown up because all th amazing detail in the sets, i can go with that.
  14. You didn't read the topic where it has been described, did you?

You are right, there ain't such a torso in light blue i think. I only know the red one from, for example, the new gas station.

Oh, seems i missed that piece Anyway, it's most likely never been used in any system town set before. It's not that i hate it, but it just looks strange to have such a big piece without studs as roof. But let's wait until next year, i assume many of these ar just prliminary pictures and maybe they change that.

A better pic of the farm set: http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/lokosupe...ay/p1000934.jpg I don't quite get what pieces the roofs are built off of..are those 8x16 plates but without studs?! Never saw that bfore, it looks a bit strange, though. Maybe that's what makes the set look a bit <insert that tiresome argument>. Would look much better with plates that have studs, imo.
  18. Wow, wow, wow. I'm buying all of the new indy sets! 2009 Is gonna be the most expensive year for me ever! Finally a new torso for Mr.Jones!
  19. i also don't get the disappointment. And what's wrong with the torsos? They even look much more realistic than the old ones. I think most people's problem just is that they can't accept somthing new and want their "good old stuff" all over again, again, and again. That phenomen also shows up in the music genre, some pople always are whining after the "good old times", that seems so ridiculous. I personally dislike that mood, i'm sure lego would have lost plenty of fans if they would still do the same as in the 80's/early 90's.
  20. I assume you'll get it per post, but that's just a guess
  21. I guess you are right, the sets will have to grow on the people, because it's "newish" look. Anyway, the ship and the fort are must buys for me, i think when we get other pictures of thm which are not photoshopped so much (on some of the pictures i even got the feeling they are fully computer designed) they will look even better.
  22. Alright, i really would like to know WHY exactly some of you think the ship is <insert that tiresome argument>. What parts of it exactly make you think that? It's got no big ugly parts or something else, i really don't gt it! Just take a closer look to it. And i don't think these are yellow pieces, but gold ones, as the color the slopes from the newer castle sets have.
  23. I did! But the question if the by me above mentioned pieces are new is still open

I love the construction site set, it kinda rminds me of 6390 Main street. The house beeing constructed for me looks like it is all brick-built, that's great! And th crane looks much better than the one from 2005, not to forget the truck.
  25. What's <insert that tiresome argument> about the shark? it's just bigger than the old sharks we all know, that's all. but you can also open the mouth of it. Just one question, maybe i missed something in the past years, but are those 2 pieces new? I actually never saw these before: Edit by Hinckley: pics removed. Please pay attention. Mister Phes already requested no pictures to be posted yet. Thank you.
