We already have a topic about that here so remember to use the search tool next time :-) I'll close this topic so we don't have duplicates

Imperial Light Assault Droid - Final Version
Starwars4J replied to Starwars4J's topic in LEGO Sci-Fi
Well, as you may be able to see in the first few pictures, he can actually stand on a table fine, not needing studs to support himself. He's actually fairly well balanced as long as you know how to place the arms. The only thing I'm considering would be to take out the 1x1 cylinder from each arm to shorten them a bit. I really like your droid, it looks very experimental-y. I also like the idea of that 1x1 round plate to add a bit of height to it. With mine I wanted it to be a very cold, heartless, imperialistic killing machine, one that could be produced in mass. Your color scheme really works though, I might have to make one like that just for the "experimental" stage :-P As for the camera, if it's fuzzy, likely it moved a bit. Tell me what kind of camera you have (via PM) and I'll try to help you out there. Although I tend not to put too much time into photographing my pictures, I'm actually a bit of an amateur photographer (so I really should do better), but at least I know what I'm talking about! Just drop me a line, and thanks for your comments -
Yeah, I can agree on the armor, I would've loved it to look like the visor :-/ And I guess I missed the GitD message on the box. I have one of the aliens, and I've never noticed a glow, so if you can take a pic I'd appreciate it :-) Thanks

Wonderful little story, wonderful creation (the man in front of the mirror was my favorite). Enviable sculptures, and even more enviable brick supplies. Thanks for sharing this!
-
Ah, thanks! Both for the BS link and the part link X-D We have quite a few fabuland fans around here, so I'm surprised I haven't seen it before! There are a lot of very useful parts from that..."theme" What are you working on now?
-
Well he could always just use a skellie skull, skull face and already applied to a curved surface! X-D
-
I know there's almost no way to convince you, but I hate flickr with a passion. It loads so slowly compared to brickshelf...it makes going through the pictures a chore, which is a shame as it's an amazing MOC! My one criticism would be to make the fibre-optic cable come from under the fire, as right now it doesn't look too real :-P Other than that this is a spectacular show of a tribute and re-creation for an amazing set Also, is this chair from Bellville or...? I don't believe I've seen it before. Overall a fantastic MOC in it's own right :-)
-
Well, he said above he'd prefer not to use a custom, but I'm afraid that's his only option. not to mention that decals are notoriously difficult to apply to curved surfaces, and even harder to design to keep the proportions perfectly in-tact

I believe *yoda* found his at a local Lego store that got theirs in early. Your best bet would be to talk with your closest Lego store to find out if they know the delivery date. If that doesn't work, just keep checking S@H and local stores that sell lego. In the meantime, I think I'll move this to the Star Wars subforum :-)
-
Very nice! But for some reason he looks more like Luigi to me...no clue why *wacko* Keep it up, and share more with is :-)
-
Welcome to EB, I hope you'll enjoy your stay here :-)

By asking for pictures, you are calling him a liar indirectly, are you not? Anyway, I just wonder why it matters to you so much what another user has? Personally, I don't believe 10 of each set, but to have 100 star wars sets is far from impossible. I have to agree with norro's above comment, it's really just not your business morris. If it's true, good for them. If it's not, then it's kinda sad. But to keep pushing for photos? Since this has gone so far away from the original intent I'm locking this. And remember guys, we're supposed to be nice to each other here...not jumping all over each other
-
I'm waiting for a BL order for like...three parts |-/ If it gets too close, I'll just submit the fighter as-is, using some creative photography and parts swapping so it isn't noticeable X-D
-
From the picture, my best guess would be two 1x1 headlight bricks
-
Actually the helmet and visor are a new color that really seem to replicate the appearance of metal well *y* There have been reports of printing problems in this line though, but they're rather far and few between, so maybe you just got a bad set. Calling TLG should get you replacement parts :-) As for the mission mars aliens...they're supposed to be GitD? *wacko* I've never heard that until now, and mine hasn't glowed at all either...

Imperial Light Assault Droid - Final Version
Starwars4J replied to Starwars4J's topic in LEGO Sci-Fi
Hm, well thanks for the support everyone ;-) I actually like this better because well...it looks more menacing. The original version had a pretty poor "claw" with horrible reach, and a very boring gun. I think I'll leave it like it is now, but if anyone wants to borrow the original design feel free (as long as you don't claim it's yours :-P) I'm still trying to come up with a new back for my redesigned fighter... -
Actually he was talking about the blank horse barding :-P It was never about the torso, it was about the armor in the first post, and then about the barding. Sadly I've heard of more than a few printing errors in this set...more quality control problems :-/
-
Well, since admins and mods are always active in topics about breaking news, I don't see how that's such a bad idea. I mean it would be fairly easy to just edit a new in the following (example) format: and whenever someone sees something new posted, they just edit it into the first post. I don't know about you, but I've also been frustrated looking for pictures in a gigantic thread
-
Well, couldn't you do the same thing with just a small bottle of brasso? You can use that to remove any printing from any piece :-)
-
Er yeah...by me :-P That was the joke :-D I'm starting to understand how hinckley feels X-D
-
Okay, it's nice that we can get that piece in a color that doesn't make me sick and can be used in modern MOCs, unlike that ancient old grey :-X (:-P you have to remember I do space MOCs too, but you still love me, right? :'-( :-P )

Since being home, I've reworked the Imperial Assault Droid I posted awhile ago, beefing up the gun and getting rid of the grabber arm. I still wanted it to be able to manipulate things, so for practicality (I mean how practical is a grabber arm in an advanced society?) I added a micro tractor-beam array around the laser, and mounted one on each arm. The rest stayed largely the same Here's the Imperial Light Assault Droid (ILAD) Fv with its creator Action pose! Three rebels approach...could they really have found the Imperial Mastermind behind a majority of the new weapons the Empire has been bringing to bear against the rebels? Uh oh... 8-| The "battle" is quickly ended, and all three rebels are severely injured A pair of Imperial shock troops enter to make sure the rebels are incapacitated before trying to take them in Overall I'm pretty happy with how this turned out, it's much better than the original version, thanks to your comments, and those of the members of CS. Comments and criticism are welcome!

That's actually a really good idea, perhaps whenever there's a thread about something new, whether it be lines or just a new set, having the first post constantly updated by mods, admins, and the topic starter with all the pictures and a concise list of information and facts (as Jipay recently frontpaged about the new creator set) would be a fantastic idea! Obviously going back and doing that for everything would not only be impractical, but a huge pain as well, but to implement it for future news sounds not only feasible but really handy. Now I'm just curious about how the admins feel about your idea :-)
