To be honest, I forget :/ But I think it was on Brickshelf awhile ago -

Anyone? -
Excellent! I love the design for the legs, and the color scheme

What is a LULS mini-figure? Light Up LightSaber

What good would a musket do to me ships? I have more pirate ships than both of yeh combined, and more men!
-
Have you seen old SYSTEM Pirate sets in stores?
Starwars4J replied to Mister Phes's topic in LEGO Pirates
Never! Well...there was one time when I must've been 8 or so when I saw an OLD classic space set in a store, but I wasn't allowed to get it because the box was opened :/ I've heard lots of stories about people finding them though, and I wish I knew where they were looking! -
Yes, they snap onto a round cylinder, sort of like the arms on the super battle droids. The legs are very wide at the base though, so they can't "walk" well But they can sit down? Thanks Matt Well, they can "sit", but there are no holes for studs like in normal minifigs (check the pics in the fixed review). In all the mechs, they just stand, and I doubt they could do much else, though they can "walk", and I'm sure you could always make good replacement legs if you don't like what they have.

Pictures, I guess |-D

It's not just you. Keep in mind, though, that this MOC was made pre-Vikings (the sets), so that's why the longboats look a little different. What really gets me is the shore though, it looks almost concrete!

Hey, I like it too, can ya tell? ;) Anyway, I absolutely abbhor the new trilogy. It's sad when the best actor in a film is CGI...>-| For me, Episode 6 was the best 6>5>4>3>2>1 (weird how that works out...)

Alright, I fixed up the review. Could someone maybe replace the stickied topic with this one, and transfer the comments? I'd appreciate it! Thanks, and sorry for the inconvenience, I'm new at this :$

Next comes the third "vehicle", a tankishthingy for the robots! It features four wheels, two droids, and a rotating gattling gun Another shot of the side, with another set of <insert that tiresome argument> pieces... It's time to move onto the Gate It features a pair of missile launchers on one side of the gate And a gunner platform on the other side On each side of the gate is a sort of security camera I suppose... Here's the gate opening up to reveal a larger missile pointed right at you! It's just the same old kind that I hate though... The mechanism to fire the missile (which was really more than it had to be) The VERY simple door mechanism And finally, a group shot of the whole set in action! Hey, imperial traitor! You'll find no old grey in there, Phes! Overall, it's a decent set. Great for parts, and even though I don't like the black hair, I love the torso on that fig. The red hair could work reasonably well with a woman, I assume. It's a lot for your money, and while the mechs are small (to fit so much into the set for that price), I think they're more than decent, and well designed (except for the lack of controls on the human mech...). I don't like the actual gate that much, so I'll probably just take it apart for its parts. Same MAYBE with the tank, I don't know yet. Pieces: 9/10 Minifigures: 8/10 Playability: 9/10 Originality: 6/10 Set Design: 7/10 Overall: 7.8/10

Here's my favorite of the two mechs, the droid mech. It comes with lots of nice dark red parts, and is very posable. One arm has a pair of missile launchers, and the other has a pair of heavy guns. Here's a shot of the leg mechanisms, somewhat similar to the "Life on Mars series"... Here's the arm mechanism. It's really quite ingenius, and allows for a simulated ball-joint effect Ah well, enough for my favorite mech, here's the human one! It would look nicer with the decals I'm sure, but I hate stickers ;) One arm has a missile launcher and cache, and the other has a "hand" with three fingers and a thumb, made of milky-silver arms from the robots in the set. The leg and arm mechanisms are the same, though this does come with a pair of nice transclear wings on it's back...

Well, I finally got the package today from Amazon, along with the Ambulance, but since that review was done anyway, I'll get to the Gate Set ;) First some general comments. This is, in my opinoin, a great piece set! It comes with all sorts of useful black and dark red pieces. One of these pieces was new to me. Anyone else see this before? I apologize for any blurriness in the pictures, my hand isn't the sturdiest around...which is partly why I didn't want to go into surgery ;) Also, I dislike the decals, so the review won't have them (though you can always see pictures of them with the decals if you guys really want). Anyway, on with the review! For $30US, the set more than breaks the price:parts barrier, with 402 pieces at just over $0.0746US/piece! First let's look at the figures. It comes with two humans, and three robots Here's a picture of the robot disassembled (as requested) And a close up of the main body of the robots (sorry for any blurriness, I was trying to hold it Here are the two humans, with their "normal" faces. Their hair is sort of rubbery, like Hagrid's, and the black hair really doesn't stay on well at all And the action face... Unfortunately the black hair doesn't even cover the secondary face...

The colour of the links in the threads...
Starwars4J replied to Mister Phes's topic in Forum Information and Help
For me, it still looked yellow, and it still does :/ -
Er, and yes, all of them are stickers
-
Thanks for your advice! I think I'll take a whole new set of pictures, with a white background, and focus a bit more on the figures. I'll do any photo requests, and thanks for the advice on the blurriness ;)
-
It looks a little better with the decals ;) But as of yet, I'm not sure what I'll keep, and what I'll use for parts (like the base), so I left them off. The stickers make them look a lot better, however not if you want to use the pieces for something else! Also, keep in mind, for a $30 set, the two mechs will have to be pretty small. Personally, I like the set for the pieces, and the robot mech, but the one I'm really looking forward to is the human fiberoptics mech

heh, I can't thank you enough. I leave my camera on highest setting for all pictures I take (old advice from my uncle who's an amateur photographer). He says to do that in case I ever want to make a print of something I take, but I guess I just forgot to adjust the size. I'll have to remember that for future pictures I take, though it'll be awhile before I get another set that hasn't already been reviewed! Well...maybe for the Star Wars ones ;) And again, thanks for the resizes, and the advice!
-
Ah! Thank you so much, I'll go back and edit it all :-D What'd you use by the way? Photoshop? And yes, I am horribly n00bish at both editing pictures, and reviews ;)
-
Like I said, I couldn't resize them for some reason...meh, but thanks for the advice :)
-
Truely a beautiful site! They bring back such fond memories *wub* Quite an impressive collection you've got there, too
-
It's still fantastic! One question though, how'd you get the cross to stand up? I see no connecting piece, did you just stick it between the studs?

Anyway, on with the review! For $30US, the set more than breaks the price:parts barrier, with 402 pieces at just over $0.0746US/piece! It comes with two humans, and three robots The red hair piece is actually great, but the black one struggles just to fit on, looks terrible, and doesn't even hide the second face! The set comes with three vehicles (two mechs, and a tank-ish-thingy) First is the human mech If there's one thing I can say about these mechs, it's the wonderful amount of flexibility! Although it lacks any sort of controls...it can still move in many different ways. First the legs have three joints (ankle, knee, and hip), and the legs can move side to side as well (pictured in the droid mech). The arms can move back and forth, and also up and down, providing a fo-ball-joint illusion. The <insert that tiresome argument> shoulder pieces really don't take away from it at all. The human mech uses milky-silver droid arms for its three fingers, and thumb. The other arm has...I assume a missile launcher and ammunitions pack? Also note two transparent "wings" coming off the back Next is the droid mech! This is my favorite mech, not only does it have controls, but it just looks cooler ;) It has the same range of motion as the human mech, but features a pair of heavy guns for one arm, and a pair of missiles for the other. It also has a "shoulder" missile launcher. The third and final vehicle is the "tank" This actually isn't too bad. While there are no rel controls of any sort, they're droids, I guess they don't need any :D It features a "driver", and a "gunner". The gunner operates a large machine gun of sorts that can rotate 360 degrees, as well as up and down (albeit limited). Finally comes THE GATE It's actually very simple. It features a pair of doors that open back, a missile launcher on the gate, and a gunner also on the gate (ugh...that hair again). On the front of each door of the gate are also cameras I guess... Hidden in the back is the larger missile launcher Which is just the standard, activated by a very simple mechanism Overall, I'd give it: Figs: 8/10 Pieces: 9/10 Set: 10/10 Playability: 9/10 Overall: 9/10 Maybe an extra fig or two wouldn't have hurt, and while I hate the black hair (which is the one I looked forward to most!), the body on the tech is amazing! Definitely pick if up if you get the chance, it's a more than decent parts set, though I'm probably not gonna keep the base, just take it apart for some pieces. And finally, a group picture! Imperial trechary! You'll find no old grey in there, Phes! Gallery when public: http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?f=155053
