Yes, two reviews in one day! You poor, poor people ;) Anyway, I'll review the $9.99 V-Wing, a set that's gotten a mixed bag of reactions so far. I'd have to say, it's a bit of a disappointment >-| So, on with the review! Here's a picture of the tiny fighter from the front. I had to fold the bottom wings to let it sit down, since they don't TURN |-/ As you can see, it's piloted by a standard clone pilot. Anyone found a use for them yet? Here's a picture of the bottom, including the "landing gear". Even though it's a cheap set, you'd think that they could spring for retractable landing gear, like in Anakin's Jedi fighter... Engines from the back. You can see the way the NON-ROTATING wings connect to the body of the ship, and the folded bottom wings: The two blasters on the wings: The NICE red R2 unit...unfortunately there's just the "head' (even though it's just the "head", it's probably the highlight of the set) Finally, the fighter with all wings fully extended: Rating: Pieces: 9/10 Minifigures: 3/10 Playability: 7/10 Originality: 5/10 Set Design: 6/10 Overall: 6/10 Really, the ship is only good for getting lots of bley wing pieces, fast. There are some dark red elements as well, which are pretty nice, and of course that R2 head *wub* The pieces aren't even that useful (to me at least), but I'm sure to some people out there it comes packed with lots of valuable pieces.

From the left side: The engines in back: There's a mechanism involving the engines that involves a rubberband. You can pull back the entire engine assembly, and then let go, causing it to snap back into place. This in turn causes the two missiles in the front to "shoot". However they don't shoot far at all... Then, finally, the wing assembly. Pictured are the three wings in the closed position, each with the blasters at the tips A closeup of one of the wings, with decals applied (they're the only decals on the ship): A closeup of the blasters: A closeup of the wing attachments: The entire ship, with "missiles" in place and "S-foils in attack position" ;) And finally, a closeup of the B-Wing in the docking bay Summary: For $34.99, and with a 435 piece count, the B-Wing more than meets the current standard. It's well designed, impressive to look at, and has a bunch of nice pieces for those wishing to extend their...bley collection. Though, I have to admit, bley does well for space. Also, it seems that they've used old dark grey, instead of dark bley. Pieces: 9/10 Minifigures: 7/10 Playability: 9/10 Originality: 5/10 Set Design: 7/10 Overall: 7.4/10 So, that's it! Hope it wasn't too bad :-D The B-Wing is a great set, and a great redesign for any Star Wars fan.

Sorry guys, I guess it's time to suffer through another one of my reviews :-D It comes with two minifigs: a flesh-tone tech, and what looks like a SULLISTAN (sorry if this is...REALLY, REALLY old news :$ ) First, we'll look at the B-Wing bay: The tools are all arranged around the "docking" area: Here's the upper portion of the dock, where the two wing-mounted blasters rest: And here's how the dock comes apart for the B-Wing to land and take off. Unfortunately the pylons fall apart really easily when trying to open or close them Now, let's move onto the B-Wing itself. Of course there's the unique cockpit (I'm sure you'll be thrilled about the level of detail >-| Now, the B-Wing is divided into several sections that snap together with technic pins. First is the cockpit section: Then comes a collar that connects the "head" (cockpit) section to the main body section There's the body section next From the front (the holes are for the two "missiles" shown in the first and second pictures). They don't fit in the ship well): From the right side:

Well it's pulled off very well! I think that putting bley with white offsets it's slightly metallic appearance.

Fantastic, is that old grey (tiles) mixed with dark bley? Also, are all the walls 1 x X with some having 2x2 tiles on top? For the building that had 2x2 tiles with 1xX bricks, why'd you do that? is there some secret to stability, or was that just what you had available? Overall I love the minifigs, and the poses. The whole place looks very busy, and lively. The color combinations are quite interesting, and seem to work well.

They're definitely alternative models of the cheapest sets of both the human, and robot mechs. Still pretty cool
-
Looks more like a blue werewolf to me |-/
-
Yeah, I noticed that awhile ago. I prefer the first group, the second i really bland (except for the silver fireman's hat), and all the same face...
-
I'm pretty sure the V-wing comes only with the head :/

No idea, I know nothing about the books/movies, but I'm sure a few people around here would know. It says the "Forbidden Pool"
-
Are you sure? From the one picture of the inside, it looks empty save for a few pillars
-
Well, this thread is about the landscape, so I really didn't believe it was relevant to provide the descriptions, but I'll be sure to in the future ;)
-
You can have the other bricks! Light grey is the only rare commodity these days, and I have enough of every other kind except black plates. ...black plates Time ta pillage those small nations again, and use those resources to strengthen my fleet some more I still need a Sigfig...well, one with a better (more accurate) face
-
This is fantastic! I just placed my order, but seeing as how my camera is out of comission for awhile, I doubt I'll get to making a review... Great find, though!
-
Where just EVERYONE is being a jerk to you? sigh >-|
-
In his folder >_> I didn't mean in anything I linked to
-
I believe the description said so, even though I've never seen the movies or read the books ;)

Brickshelf find, I don't know what this would fit under, but the mix of colors most closely resembles any real mountain I've seen reproduced in lego. The waterfall isn't that spectacular, but the surrounding rock looks fantastic (to me at least) Made by...TheTennisBallKid

Gwahaha, while you've all been goin' about yer little war games, me men have gathered together, and pillaged quite a few smaller nations--picked 'em clean!

Poll: What type of Grey bricks do YOU prefer?
Starwars4J replied to Starwars4J's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
Of course! Bley is useless for building castle MOCs, it looks far too metallic to be stone. It might work well with space MOCs though...something I need to look into as my...*sigh* supply of bley grows -
Poll: What type of Grey bricks do YOU prefer?
Starwars4J replied to Starwars4J's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
Well, I asked because I'm currently making a castle MOC from old grey, and was curious about how other people use their bricks. Of course the color IS rather arbitrary, but if you'd like to change the wording by removing "Grey" and "castle" from my poll, feel free to! Actually, I'm just wondering what to do with all the old grey I stole right out from under you *twisted* -
Just wondering if people around prefer to use 2 x X bricks for thicker walls, 1 x X for more versatility, a combination of the two, or if they sometimes use one kind for one type of MOC, and the other for a different kind. Personally, I like building primarily with 1 x X, but use 2 x X for certain features

Anyone know if it's possible to get...
Starwars4J replied to Starwars4J's topic in Buy, Sell, Trade and Finds
Yeah, I think so. From here you can also see the other "prototype" I have saved: *drools* I would pay so much for that >_> I wish he had an e-mail to contact him at... -
