A new AT-AT this year? FINALLY! *sweet* The only thing that bothers me is that it's a "walking" AT-AT...I hope they don't ruin it with some stupid gimmick :-/

Which is better, Star TREK or Star WARS?
Starwars4J replied to vahkimetru's topic in Culture & Multimedia
Oh lord, you've opened up such a can of worms with this :-D Star Wars, easily. For the same of argument, we are ignoring that bastardization of Star Wars called the prequels. I'll let you Trekkies do the same with the worst. Star Wars has some of the most iconic moments in society as far as entertainment goes. "No, I am your father". The Death Star, the opening scroll in A New Hope...Lightsabers...etc. The acting was good, the special effects were amazing for the time, etc. Star Wars was a story. Star Trek was a series of shorts that were loosely strung together ;-) -
Admiral 4J to Lord *vader*: It's complete, my Lord. I just had to tell them that Lord *vader* wouldn't be pleased if they took more than four hours... Sending the files. We found no traps or rebels left in the city.

What're your favorite and least favorite Star Wars minifigures?
Starwars4J replied to Darthking623's topic in LEGO Star Wars
I don't think he'll be able to... 8-| -
I was hoping it was just an awkward picture...it used to be chrome gold in the prelims... :'-( Another good idea tossed aside. Come on, Lego. ONE chrome gold euroarmor in the most expensive set wasn't too much to ask for!

Admiral 4J to Lord *vader*: My Lord, we're hovering around the floating city. I've dispatched ballistics teams to scout the area for explosives before we fully invade, they shouldn't be much longer. After that I will dispatch my Stormtroopers to cover the entire city. Every building entrance. Every computer terminal. The citizens will be under martial law until we can be sure there are no more terrorists being housed there. All information will be gathered, analyzed, and sent to you in a report. I expect this should take no more than twelve standard hours.

How did I completely miss that new pictures were posted when I posted earlier? Anyway, thanks for the pics as always, Sam. My one question is that now it looks as if the chrome gold euroarmor of the king has a print...and I wonder if it can be removed without damaging the chrome? I'm afraid that it can't :-/

Guarding the war hammers and viking beards :-D 8-| :'-(

I am glad Disney lost (they've been acting way too much like Big Brother in the last...well, since their existence), however it will still be a little sad to know that Pooh will no longer be anywhere on Disney, it's like taking Peter Pan out (which they also probably stole... :-| ) This reminds me of a time I was little and waiting in line for Space Mountain with my mom. I had a bad feeling all of a sudden, and said I thought we should go, she thought I was just being scared. Pretty soon we saw police officers walking up the return aisle, and a bunch of people then walking out. That's when we decided to get off line. When we did...you know those slow-moving trams that take you on a tour of space land? Well they go inside Space mountain at one point...and the whole thing was stopped, and there were "Disney Cops" (best I can describe them) standing on the tracks for it at regular intervals. The whole thing was on lockdown! I can just imagine what happened...like this family who had their son lose a leg on Thunder Mountain and were immediately forced to sign a waiver and a document to keep quiet about it (which they obviously broke).

We know, he was saying it's an expensive set and it won't be part of the 3PO promotion, showing that they don't just put them in the most expensive sets ;-)

talk about a disturbing ebay listing...
Starwars4J replied to morris's topic in General LEGO Discussion
I believe he was referring initially to this: l2k read it too fast, and assumed morris was displaying his ebay auction here, either that or figured morris thought it was a good find. Rather he was pointing out how disturbing the nature of the action was, completely missing why it was posted, and came out with an attitude at morris. -
That's very interesting...and very heartwarming. While I would love to believe everything he says...I just can't bring myself to (and it's not because he called them "legos"). See...they are doing what he says to a degree. They're listening to the fans more. They're listening to the AFOL much more than they were. However they still do some of the same old stunts. This latest C3PO thing in particular irks me. If they want to make this just for the fans...why do this? ANYONE who collects SW would love to have it. And I'm gonna be searching as well...however if this is truly for play, truly for the kids...why do this? Why disappoint so many people? I know I'm going to get the "They're still a company...they need to do well" responses, and that is most likely why they do it, but it still seems to violate the policies of old that he claims to want to go back to. They're making great sets (I'm ignoring you, Sith Infiltrator), but they still don't seem to have all their heart back. It made me sad when he talked about, at the start, the Lego Group losing their heart and soul over the years, and it made me happy to see that they're trying to get it back. I swear, it sounded like an AFOL was talking...and JUST an AFOL, not the president of a company with a vested interest. Maybe he practiced to sound that way, or maybe he really loves the bricks. I don't know, but the point is that it showed me that there's an effort to get back to how things used to be, but with the way things are unfolding...I'm wondering if they're going about it all wrong :-/ The castles are MUCH better than they have been. Even an attempt to return to Space...but this isn't what made TLG great. Where are our factions without storylines? Where are our factions that we can decide for ourselves if they're allies or enemies? Factions that last more than a year or two? I liked almost everything I heard from that man, I just hope he practices most of what he talked about...I really do. It gave me hope for the future of the company. I'd rather see Lego go bankrupt while still being Lego, than have it turn into megabloks with the Lego name still stamped on every stud. That would kill Lego more for me than the closing of a company ever could.

talk about a disturbing ebay listing...
Starwars4J replied to morris's topic in General LEGO Discussion
Not to mention what kid would keep it in the box in perfect condition... -
Well theoretically less of the larger sets are made, so if they distribute them by set number (an equal amount for each set type), we'd have a better chance with the larger ones... Of course if they meant random as in COMPLETELY random...then I guarantee you they're all in the MTT and MF :-|

ANH...it's pretty much THE opening of a Star Wars movie. When someone mentions a star wars movie opening, what do you think of? An endless star destroyer scrolling overhead, of course! It had my vote. I don't think any other opening would ever have that same feeling of wonder
-
Very impressive, though this is still my favorite... *wub*

Admiral 4J to Lord *vader*: Yes, my Lord. After the failed ambush I've decided the best course of action would be to return to the Bespin system. I'll be there shortly. We'll scrub that entire floating city down.
-
Admiral 4J to Lt. Robiwan: If you had more forces than the Rebels, you should have pursued. The worst that could have happened was losing a few pilots. Now we've no idea where the rebels fled to, unless you managed to shoot a tracker onto one of their ships? Regardless, expect your ships to be replaced...with the oldest model TIEs we have available
-
Admiral 4J to Lt. Robiwan: Then you should have pursued. And call me General one more time and I'll have you mining spice from Kessel *skull*
-
Admiral 4J to Lt. Robiwan: Just return. Lord *vader* will not be pleased with your failure.
-
Happy Birthday, hope it's one to remember *sweet*

Just so you know, I wasn't advocating it, just speculating what would happen ;-) I currently have three pre-ordered (to sell later) so...well I've never been an official Lego store near me :-$ I need to find out how these loyalty cards work...
