  1. I'll thank you two not to castrate each other. I will have to agree with Oky that the difference between the old and new pics isn't huge, although the big space at the bottom of the large tower is less obvious in the initial pic. To each his own though. It will all depend on price for me. I doubt I'll shell out $90 for it, but $80 and below... maybe.
  2. The only reason why the Rock Raiders HQ was more solid looking was because it was set on a huge baseplate. Take that away, and you have another pretty empty-looking base. Don't get me wrong, I like the Rock Raiders HQ, but I still think this set deserves a little more justice.
  3. Yeah, I think it should have come with a rock monster in an exclusive color.
  4. I don't know what you two are on about. This thing captures the idea of a mining facility perfectly. It's got floodlights, some lovely detail in the top of the main tower, some pressure tubes between the bases, a very cool little robotic dump truck, and even what appears to be a dumping mechanism for the zip line bucket. The only weaknesses I see is the godawful flick-fire rack on top of the small tower and the wasted space beneath the main tower. Otherwise I think this set looks quite strong. It almost looks like an oil rig and I think it fits the "underground" concept very well. And yes, the Cave Crusher looks as sweet as ever. I think I'll be picking up both of these.
  5. Johnny Thunder > Indiana Jones. This truth is eternal. This set is pretty good. I like the monster thing and those printed flags are very useful. This isn't my favorite set but it's good.
  6. I like the way this set looks, and that A-Wing is quite good!
  7. Why isn't this on the news?
  8. Pretty good review. I really like this set, and I'll be picking it up ASAP.
  9. Mmmm... I'm not sure about that. There is a very faint line between "action" and "sci-fi". Sci-fi is usually about technology, and this technology is usually used to venture into space, where things like aliens often lurk. The inclusion of aliens really does make something sci-fi, because in the minds of most people, that would be a logical association. It's become a staple of the genre, it really wouldn't make any sense to put it anywhere else. What would you call "Alien VS Predator"? It doesn't involve technology to any real extent- just aliens. Yet it would be called a sci-fi by a vast majority of moviegoers. Regardless of the technical definition, doesn't the definition most of our users are going to use make more sense to adhere to?
  10. Personally I think Power Miners and Rock Raiders belong in Sci-Fi.
  11. I honestly don't understand it's appeal. Minifigs have taken a huge step in the right direction since then- more detail, variety, accessories, etc. Sure, it's an icon of classic Space, but the minifig itself strikes me as bland.
  12. I'll probably still be skipping the pitshop, but that pic makes it look a little better. We'll have to wait for some reviews, though.
  13. It might have some function, but it's probably just to look cool. Personally I think it adds some interesting geometry to the largest tower.
  14. Yeah, we have, and I agree. The exclusives are by far the best looking Power Miners sets this summer, and possibly ever. I am convinced this will be a one-year theme.
  15. Impressive review! I like the look of this set. Do you think you could do a review of that large Power Miners vehicle? It hasn't been done yet.
  16. I was going to limit myself to Space Police, but the Cave Crusher and this set are both appealing to me immensely...
  17. My my, that looks promising! Once again the exclusives are more impressive than the main releases. I like the big wheel thing.
  18. That would be quite new! Share plz?
  19. That Cave Crusher really is a beauty. It looks like it'll become the Ultra-Drill Walker of Power Miners.
  20. This guy's actually pretty cool. He looks like a Gundam.
  21. That's some fantastic geometry you've got going there.
  22. Here here- that set looks beautiful. If I can get my hands on it, I'll review it pronto.
  23. He IS a rock. Does that make this slavery?
  24. Exactly. They can be used for other things. I can already think of a hundred different uses for those awesome figs. This is the first Star Wars set to interest me in some time. Useful parts, good exclusive figs, and an interesting design. I gave it "Above average".
  25. $5.99. It's only 7 at TRU. Still though, LEGO prices have gone up all over the board.
