  1. This set is just terrific. Three exclusive figs and one awesome green mech all for a measly $20. I sure hope I can get my hands on this. Great review! Nice clear pictures and entertaining sense of humor you have there
  2. That is definitely an attractive set. I do feel like it's a little bare, though, even for the price. But a TON of great parts more than make up for it. So excited to see these beginning to pop up in stores. I can't wait to see those reviews!
  3. Blacktron I and Ice Planet 2002 seem to be pulling ahead... I'm kind of surprised! Maybe if I have time, I'll do another theme review...
  4. Something's bothering me about that mech and I'm not sure what it is. I think it may be the lack of knees. I do like the general design though. I'm hoping to see some more reviews soon.
  5. LEGO Space is one of LEGO's most beloved themes, and now that Alien Conquest has left us Space fans with nothing to satisfy our urge for deep-space adventuring, I thought the time was right for another bought of 1990's nostalgia. I know there are a lot of different opinions on LEGO Space around here, so I've assembled the most comprehensive LEGO Space poll yet! Which of these LEGO classics brings back the best memories for you? For me, I absolutely love Ice Planet 2002. But as a 90's child, I also grew up with UFO, Life on Mars, and the more modern themes, so they have a special place in my heart as well.
  6. I swear Oky knows everything. I can't wait to get my hands on that batwing... I missed the first Batman wave, so I'm definitely picking up some of these!
  7. ^ another reason why I dislike licensed themes. Many of the sets aren't movie-accurate at all. LEGO Space is completely unique to the imagination of the designers, so it can't be inaccurate. As an aesthetic perfectionist, that's quite important to me. Also I see no reason to pay inflated prices for Star Wars models knowing that far more accurate versions can be built with the collection I already have. On the bright side, if LEGO Space is taking another break, this might give me a chance to stock up on some classic sets and do another theme review.
  8. If LEGO can pull off a PotC license, there's no reason to believe that a LotR license isn't feasible.
  9. This set looks much better built than it does on the box. I like the blocky, sturdy look to the vehicle. The dino is fantastic too. The only thing I'm unimpressed with is the minifig lineup, which is probably the theme's weakest imo. Great review! I hope to see one of the helicopter soon.
  10. Really liking that TIE fighter. I guess the UCS B-Wing was just a pipe dream?
  11. No, but it definitely isn't about Ninjas with jetpacks using "Spinjitzu" to fight skeletons driving monster trucks.
  12. Looking good. Catwoman's set looks much better now, it's good to see purple again. My favorite is still Lex Luthor's power armor, closely followed by the Batwing set. Since they're both smaller sets they should be reasonably priced, too! Any indication of when these will be released?
  13. Lets all take a moment to be thankful that the figs don't actually look like that.
  14. I liked Pharaoh's Quest but I would easily give it up for a return of Johnny Thunder. It's just classic LEGO charm for me - I grew up with Orient Expedition.
  15. I like this Monster Fighters idea and I can definitely see TLG doing it. But I'm not gonna put any stake into this being true until I see some more compelling evidence.
  16. Personally, I'm hoping that it will fill in the gap left by Alien Conquest. As a Space collector I'm already starting to miss non-Star Wars sci-fi. But at this point, anything is possible.
  17. There is usually a surprise or two waiting for us in the Summer. I think it's definitely possible. Still, this thread might be a little premature seeing as we have no idea what the heck it could be yet.
  18. This is my favorite set out of the new Dino theme. I love the design of the jeep, and the great figs and awesome dino make this a big win. Your review is fantastic, too! Very clear photos. Thanks so much for doing this!
  19. First of all, I gotta say that this review is as impressive as the set itself. Really thorough and a pleasure to read. As for the set, you've actually made me like it quite a bit more than I did at first. It is quite large and I enjoy the simple-yet-secure aesthetic. The dinos and minifigs are, obviously, fantastic and definitely the best reason to pick this up. All in all, the price will probably keep me away (as usual ) but if I ever feel like spending a shiny dime on a worthy LEGO purchase, it will probably be this. Loving this line!
  20. You people are bloodthirsty.
  21. Can't wait to see some reviews! I think the official word is this theme is a hit.
  22. Those are actually looking better. My favorite set is still definitely the Lex Luther robot, but the Batwing is now a close second. I suppose it would be foolish to hope that these will be available for Christmas, like the rest of the 2012 line.
  23. What planet are they living on where bright purple and orange is a good color scheme?
  24. Looks like our predictions were correct - these sets are indeed being released for Christmas! I'm quite happy to know that I'll be building one of these on Christmas morning. I can't wait to see the reviews, as well, particularly of that helicopter. I'm also increasingly impressed with the minfigures of this line. They all seem to be unique, and even better, the original printing looks exceptionally useful for a great variety of MOCs. Can't wait to add these to my collection.
  25. Easy enough to mod out.
