  1. A general question to those of you who didn't take a long break from LEGO: Do you have any idea when we can expect more Lord of the Rings sets? Could there be anything out before the "Hobbit" sets in winter? I hope somebody can make an educated guess based on previous releases of licensed themes.
  2. I'd love Elrond and Gil-galad (the elf king with the spear fighting next to Elrond in the move) as minifigs!
  3. Cool. Could you post a photo, please?
  4. I cannot tell whether this is a serious post or if you are joking. Either way, looking forward to your review. The more, the better.
  5. To have a good relation to the castle section, I'd like to have three Uruk-hai army sets. One (unchanged) directly adjacent to the castle wall. The drain part would go into the middle, and on the outside, I'd put another two Uruk-hai army wall sections (modified so they are flat rather than with the convex outpocket).
  6. Thanks for the review. The whole Khazad-dum sequence is one of my favourites, so I'll probably get the set in spite of the 33 stickers. Hopefully, I can connect it to a set with Gandalf and the balrog next year. Regarding the orc faces, one side shows the mouth and eyes slightly more open. Also, the lines in between the eyes differ a small bit.
  7. The official page has been updated and now features Weathertop. http://thelordoftherings.lego.com/en-us/default.aspx
  8. Video review of Helm's Deep ("Brickqueen") For an excellent written/ pictorial review see the Historical Themes index of this very forum. :)
  9. Great review! I like the extra cape. It should go well with King Theoden while he's not wearing his armor!
  10. I'd have rather seen a printed armor piece (just like Theoden's) than the plume. It is a characteristic feature, no doubt. But I really like what LEGO has done with the Rohan helmets. All very similar yet distinct.
  11. I'm pretty sure Theoden's horse in the battle of the Hornburg was brown. He rode a white horse in the battle on the Pelennor Fields.
  12. Orc Forge review:
  13. Animated review of Mines of Moria: The same user has also uploaded Gandalf arrives and Uruk-hai army in the same style.
  14. A good review of Shelob Attacks by a Lord of the Rings fan site. The reviewer hadn't bought LEGO products in 10 years. http://www.theonering.net/torwp/2012/05/14/56112-product-review-shelob-attacks-lego-set/
  15. I've asked LEGO via Twitter about the release date and prices for Australia. I received a reply saying that stores are expected to have the sets by mid to late June. My question about the prices was ignored. I suspect it should be a similar release date for Middle Earth... errrr New Zealand.
  16. Thanks for the continued uploads! If you wouldn't mind: I'd be interested in the following two things: - can the Rohan shield be attached to a saddle of a horse? - what does Aragorn look like with a cloak (grey, brown or green)? - can you fit a quiver onto Aragorn?
  17. Stop-motion build video of "Gandalf arrives" set. It's really well done.
  18. I don't know if this was mentioned before, and it probably fits more as a "The Hobbit" set, but I'd be incredibly happy to see the following: Rhosgobel The building(s) as they'll be seen in the upcoming movie and appropriate play features Minifigures: Radagast, the Brown Gwaihir, Lord of the Eagles (a new hold, moveable head and wings, position for a minifigure to ride on the eagle just like LEGO horses) Other figures as will be present in the movie Animals: anything fitting, maybe a bear (Beorn), wolf, hare and whatever shown in the movie I'm intrigued by this character (Radagast) and think the set would show a lot of green to provide a nice contrast to the predominantly grey LotR sets we've seen so far.
  19. My favourite would be one of the Forestmen sets, probably 6054, the Forestmen Hideout. Just loved playing with it a "few" years back. Of the sets released after 1995, I think I'll say The Battle of Helm's Deep which was just released. This set got me back into LEGO after nearly 20 years. In the future, I hope for a Rhosgobel set (home of Radagast, the Brown. If it is nice and green, features Radagast, a giant eagle and some animals, it could be my favourite set ever. I think I'll give it a shot in creating it myself. :)
  20. I wondered about the amount of stickers in an earlier post. So I guess Captain BeerBeard was replying to my inquiry. Thanks! When doing the review, could you please see if the Rohan shield fits on the horse saddle (as in the movies)?
  21. I am looking forward to your review of Helm's Deep! I'd like to see if the two pieces (outer wall and inner wall) can be meaningful connected with that "moveable walkway". Also, it would be nice to see whether one can interchange the wall piece with the drain and the one from Uruk-hai army (more accurate to the movie version of the fortress). I hope there won't be as many stickers as in Moria, but from the pictures it looks like at least the following are stickers: - throne - stone works on tower - Rohan banner
  22. For the Aussies: From Twitter (LEGO Group): We expect the sets (Lord of the Rings) to hit stores mid to late June.
  23. I completely agree. Granted, I've only seen reviews by "Brick Show", "Brick Queen" and the guy in question. But out of those three, he ("DoctorBrikDaddy") has the best reviews - by far! Figures are neatly depicted and always in focus, the time-lapse building of the sets is a nice feature, and he shows every single play feature there is to a set. Speaking of which, his fourth review is up: Uruk-hai army
  24. Thanks. I'm not sure about Legolas' alternative facial expression. If it is meant to resemble an angry look, I think it fails. If it's depicting the elf cringing, I don't see how it relates to the movie. Anyway, still a great figure. I wonder if the cape would fit between his back and hair. The Rohan soldier with printed legs and cape does not look as good as I expected. I think it might be too much brown and green. I might try giving him red arms (I think that's the colour some Rohirrim in the movie had) to give some more contrast.
  25. A new review (same guy as the last two): Mines of Moria
