  1. Looking forward to see them! If you wouldn't mind doing me another favour, could you also upload a photo of Eomer without cape and one of the Rohan soldier with the cape, please?
  2. I found amazon.de a quite reliable source for European release dates. They have all sets listed for June 23. Not sure if this applies to Holland.
  3. sidersdd, thanks a lot for the photo correction! A sigh of relief for a Rohan fan. ;) Gandalf looks also better - not as good as on the box, but good enough to buy the set, after all. Those CGI pictures with tick boxes of all the mini figures are also much appreciated! General Magma, thanks for the video game release date! My wife and I liked the LEGO Star Wars games, so this will be a definite pick-up.
  4. I didn't know this sort of thing happened before. Did the mix-up happen in every box? Or just in many, and you'd get a replacement by LEGO? I'd have to look for an alternative head as the one shown in sidersdd's picture simply doesn't fit Eomer. The full beard is out of place, but even more so, I can't think of a worse expression for Eomer than the insecure look upon the Rohan soldier's face.
  5. Thanks! I like that the book can be opened. But Gandalf's beard... I really wonder why LEGO changed it to this design. I wanted to pick this set up for Gandalf, but seeing how badly he looks, I might just wait for the Hobbit sets and see if LEGO improves the Istari's design. Disappointing.
  6. Thanks for the pictures! Does Eomer really have the same head as the generic Rohan soldier or did you mix them up when taking the photo? On the box art, Eomer clearly has a different face. Edit: Argh, what happened to Gandalf's beard? It looks so much worse than on the box or this video . The beard is cut off on the sides instead of going up and nearly connecting to the hat. Terrible!
  7. If you'd put up Edoras on Cuusoo, you'd have a lot of support for sure!
  8. I meant to have all movies tied into one game rather than three games released over three years. I don't doubt Eomer will be included, I'd just prefer to ride down some orcs in 2012 rather than in 2014. ;)
  9. Fantastic! I really hope it will be a video game featuring the complete Lord of the Rings, not just the Fellowship. I want to play as Eomer and ride into battle against orcs. :)
  10. Thanks for the link! I love the minifigures in this set, but Shelob itself is not that much to my liking. All in all, it's not worth 40-50 bucks to me.
  11. I'm disappointed by the absence of Eowyn but agree that there would be other, more fitting figures, to add to Helm's Deep. I'm sure we'll see Eowyn with the next wave (2013). I hope for Edoras or the battle of the Witch King with Eowyn, King Theoden and Merry.
  12. That is ... impressive.
  13. They do look great together, indeed! :) Edit: I cannot post pictures, so please follow the links if you want to see them. The first shows a model of the move version of the Hornburg while the second is the previously seen LEGO version of "The Battle of Helm's Deep" and "Uruk-hai Army" combined. Another thing I just noticed is the compatibility between the Uruk-hai Army and Battle of Helm's Deep Set. Of course, the wall pieces fit together, but the way they do is quite interesting. Looking at the following picture, it appears that the Uruk-hai Army wall piece and it's tower-like outcropping belongs close to the Hornburg while the piece with the drain is further in the middle. Looking at the LEGO set in the following picture, it is easy to exchange the wall pieces. Simply remove the 2x1 brick (onto of Eomer in the picture) and the wall piece fits into the same spot where the drain wall piece is. Similary, twist the 2x1 piece on the Uruk-hai army wall adjacent to the flag and it will connect perfectly with the drain wall piece after exchanging sites. Very confusing, but I hope it makes sense. :) I'd even consider buying a second Uruk-hai army and have one wall piece left and one right of the drain. On the outside of the drain piece, the 2x1 piece can be moved one stud over and will connect a wall piece on its left side. I'd just need to get rid of the outcropping on the outer, second piece and make it flat, so it will be (from left to right): modified, flat Uruk-hai Army wall, drain wall piece, unmodified Uruk-hai army wall piece. http://brick.jamescook.nu/wp-content/uploads/2012/03/lego_the_lord_of_the_rings_9474_the_battle_of_helms_deep_set.jpg
  14. Here is a video showing some recent photos: Go to 2:20 to see the Lord of the Rings pictures. It's nice to see the sets side-by-side. The Uruk with white hand emblem on shield and helmet looks great! I am surprised at the height of the Orc Forge which nearly reaches up the tower of the Hornburg. The two things that are not well proportioned, to my eyes, are Shelob (slightly too large) and the orc catapult (far too large).
  15. For anybody looking for series 7 mini figures: Target at Macquarie Park (Shopping Centre) had a full box today, Tuesday 8th.
  16. Thanks!I intend to use the Elf torso (Minifigures Series 3), legs and cape for Gamling. The outfit looks very much like a rohirric member of Theoden's Royal Guard. Put Thor's head and hair onto, change the colour of the hands and you've got a nice looking Gamling. :) For Theodred, Luke Skywalker's face and Boromir's hair could work. Theoden's son has a shaven face in the movies and looks quite young (despite his age of 41 at the time of his death). Not sure about the torso, yet.
  17. Thanks for the replies! Thor is an excellent suggestion as it adds another colour variety. I'll see if I can pick some up on Bricklink. Thanks again!
  18. Does anybody know whether the hair pieces of Aragorn and Boromir are new to the line? I intend to only collect one faction (Rohan), and those hair pieces would be nice in creating some custom characters (Theodred, Dunhere, Grimbold, Gamling, Hama and unnamed soldiers).
  19. Edit:Not sure why my reply has been cut out. :(
  20. Those Nazgul actually look better than the original. I just spotted your avatar on ebay. :) Sauron as a mini figure looks cute.
  21. I'd be happy to see instructions for Edoras so I can see what bricks I'd need to copy it. :) As for Helm's Deep, I'd normally suggest to focus on original ideas. However, given how much your sets resemble official sets, I'd be happy to see a "complete" Helm's Deep (e.g. with the keep).
  22. The Edoras set is simply amazing. Exchange the mini figures for official ones, add one or two Rohan banners, and I'd buy it right away. As said before, it looks like an official set. In fact, I might consider buying the bricks to build it myself. :)
  23. For all LEGO fans living in Australia: According to this http://www.mightyape.com.au/Toys/classic-retro/LEGO-Toys/Coming-Soon/page3/ retailer, these are the Australian prices and release date: Release date: 17 September 2012 Gandalf arrives: 24.99 Shelob attacks: 41.99 Uruk-hai army: 61.99 Orc forge: 75.99 Weathertop: 99.99 Moria: 132.99 Helm's Deep: 230.99
  24. The Orc Forge doesn't interest me as much as other sets. I'd probably rather buy another Uruk-hai army instead. Speaking of which, the already nice Eomer mini figure would be indefinitely better without cape and a printed armour similar to Theoden's. Eomer looks like the guy with the widest shoulders in the movies and I think Theoden's armour style with Eomer's body printing would have been just brilliant. Although the following questions are slightly off-topic, I'd really appreciate if somebody would answer them regardless: - Does anybody know when we can expect battle packs? I guess the only thing to base it on would be the release date of Star Wars battle packs. Was the SW line out for a long time before battle packs were introduced? - I just heard about the LEGO club. Apparently, it's a once only payment of 20$ and you'll receive four magazines annually - along with some other things. Does anybody want to share her/ his experience? I'd mainly join for the Lord of the Rings line. Assuming it will be treated similarly to SW, what could I expect to get out of a membership?
  25. I'd really like to get all sets, but that's just not realist with the expected pricing. So I can either collect the fellowship (Shelob, Weathertop, Gandalf, Mines of Moria) or the two Rohan sets (Helm's Deep and Uruk army). Both should be around 300 AU$. I think Helm's Deep is a nicer display and includes fantastic minifigures (Theoden, Haldir). Additionally, I suspect the release of Rohan/ Uruk battle packs that would enhance the scene even further. On the other hand, the fellowship is simply iconic, and I really like LEGO Boromir. As for Legolas and Gandalf, I'm sure they'll feature in another set for the Hobbit movie.
