  1. If you want to cut down of the price of books and are willing to take second hand condition then may I suggest taking a look at http://gb.bookbutler.com/ type in the name or the ISBN and it searches the online bookshops including the resale market. You can normally get any book for a reasonable price, as long as you
  2. For myself I can't see it going much higher than $60. Though it wouldn't be nice to get my hands on some surgical implements the price is far to high for me.
  3. That's for the BG, memories of the times I spent as a kid watching the loop of Lego adverts in the local department store come flooding back to me. I have the same problem, though with the UC Millennium Falcon that might be the best sort of place to advertise, well apart from the students watching like me.
  4. It's a good little vig and well posed. I'm not as sure about the level of black as other people, I think it might be better if there was more contrast between the skeleton and the backdrop of the bars, it blends together a little to much (though I haven
  5. Very nice, I like the plant creeping up the building it's a nice detail. The use of the viking printed parts in the side door breaks up the door and makes it look more intresting. The only part I still have a question over is the prison door being used as the front door (mostly likly because Ive not seen it used like that before and I'm an awful conservative when it comes to building) could you give me some ideas as to the thought process behind it?
  6. That is a very impressive collection, I can't even begin to guess the price of a complete collection like that. Though it does beg the question if they've insured it specially.
  7. I asume it's so people can see the minifigs, in recent years there seems to be more and more effort in trying to show what the figures are like, if you look at the sides they now have scale pictures to give people a better ideaa what they're getting. Also I asume that it would look much worse for a big box to be opened and then find 5 little people in it, and as the boxes keep getting bigger they've had to find a diffrent way.
  8. That's a great idea and very original not seen anything like that before. Can I ask what inspired you to create such a unit? As for the helmets I think that's a personal prefence I like them
  9. LOL! Or was it female representation in the legislature as there are so few of them should they have a set number of seats allocated to them?
  10. That brought a smile to my face, though "March 10, 1962: After four years of lagging sales, one of the designers has the idea to add a second colour to the set." well not far wrong there were only 4 to begin with. What was so contentious about the Legoland constitution?
  11. That's an amazing mine, it so well planned with such a large amount of detail. I love the way it manges to convay the misery of the slave work force, and the dead former miners well somone should call the HSE!
  12. My god that chess set, that can't be the same price as the one already out it's got so much more stuff! Lego hve really pulled out the stops this year and give us great thing that we all want to buy. Though I must ask are they trying to bankrupt me! *Wonders how many extra shifts he can pick up*
  13. Thanks for the review, I like the looks of the set but I'm not sure about it still. Is it work
  14. Got to be 6716 Weapons Wagon for me. It was the first western set I got, it introduced some feild artillery which I'd tried to build before with various degrees of sucess. Also it's one of the few times we've been provided with the carts that are for the supporting arm, it's a necesseity in any army.
  15. While blueandwhite Civil War question is a good one, after more though I think there might be a chance for landmark or such things, though has the Eiffel Tower sold well? I think that one might be one of the most controversial minfigs Lego could make!
  16. This is an excellent fort I must say.It has a good number of guns to defend it, I like the addition of a little tavern (it should keep the soldiers happy) and the rock pieces are very well intergrated into the fort.
  17. I've been thinking on the price, my guess is that it would be in or around the price of Knights' Catapult Defense my reasoning is simple that had 4 minifigs (though two were skeletons) so one more and a few more bits and bobs should be about the same as a catapault. Anyone have and other ideas?
  18. There all very nice figs, but I'm most impressed with the Louisiana Tigers without the use of decals you've made a very good looking regiment. I'm not sure but I think you might be the first person to create a CSA Zouave regiment, good work.
  19. It great, though it does look very like the house one of my friend rents! The steps and door way are very well done. The cavern below looks very nice aswell, I also think the detailing on the roof near the chimney is very charming and it's one of those nice little touches.
  20. They do look real, I assume the price is rather the i've found it first make everyone else pay more Ebay price rather than retail. Next time I got to Bluewater I'll ask about it. Either way looks intresting.
  21. If the Daleks then exterminat her then I wont mind ;) I'm glad I not alone though in wanting something that doesn't include aliens.
  22. I don't think there were after the fall of Rome, there might have been a few but not on a large scape. After Rome sea battles were moslty land battles that happened to be on a ship. During the Hundred years war the only really ship born weapon were the arrows which were designed to rip through sails. History aside that's a really nice ship, I like the way it seems a logical progression from the sea serpent to a larger warship and the use of oars is a good idea or it would be rather problamaitc in combat.
  23. Another very well done MOC. The brick built minotaur is very good and a tad disturbing looking. Again as with all you scenes it's very well posed. You got the string in there excellent with the detail and quite a substantial and well made bit of maze and even one of the previous victims. Excellent
