  1. I'm way more excited about the helicopter than the crawler as well. The crawler looks like an over sized 8297 to me.
  2. Nice collection! I really like all of the construction vehicle sets also so I gravitate towards them mainly. I like a lot of the subtle changes you have made to your models. I always like to build them to plans the first time but won't hesitate to change a color of a part or research a way to improve a function or the aesthetics.
  3. That's very impressive! It looks great in red also. Now get to building us that 9396!
  4. It looks like the 9396 box in the background has a front flap (a la flagship) showing the mechanical functions I'm guessing since there are no PF. It looks great and that Crawler is a monster in terms of scale.
  5. Very nicely done! I also see shades of 8069 meets 8047 with 8043 functionality and then some. That's quite a lot in a small space.
  6. That looks good. It's a shame there isn't room under there for a working V6. I just got this set today so I'm looking forward to building it soon. It's a good looking set even though it is pretty simplified. I want to up size it a bit and stuff some gears and extra functions into it.
  7. It looks like a 5x11 panel with a sticker to me as well. You can see the bottom holes that oppose the tops ones 5 units down. I wish we had the 3x11 panel also and in all of the good colors.
  8. Same here. I toyed with getting an 8068 but still haven't yet. I searched for a video of the helicopter and was not able to find one so far.
  9. The 9398 Crawler does look better in that video but my eyes immediately fixated on the 9396 Helicopter in the background. I definitely like that one.
  10. The colors on the Crawler are a little crazy from that angle. It just doesn't look like a very complete design like we have come to expect from them. Hopefully it will showcase some new parts and techniques at the very least and look better than what we have seen glimpses of so far.
  11. Thanks for the rundown. I have an 8275 on the way and will look into getting the 8421 after that if I can find one suitable. I must say I don't really care for the studded beams that made an appearance on both of these two kits but they are too important to overlook. I look forward to seeing what these two sets have to offer.
  12. I'm just getting back into Technic after a ~20 year break and have been going about acquiring some of the sets from the past few years. I must say it would have been much cheaper to get back into Lego at say 2005 or so. The prices for 8275 and 8421 are getting pretty ridiculous. I'm pretty sure I want them both so my question is are they worth what people are asking these days? I have the 8043 and 8258 along with a few other recent sets(8051, 8052, 8053, 8063, 8069, 8070, 8109, 8264, 8265). I will have to buy all the new sets when they go on clearance for the next few years to offset what the older ones are costing me! :)
  13. I really like all of the construction based sets over most of the others. I would love to see a flagship of the 8264 Hauler dumper. In the meantime I may have to build my own or the beautiful one Hans created.
