  1. Like the title says, I'm looking for Eagles and Ravens from the Legend of Chima sets. I currently have none, and I'm looking to get one of each with weapons if possible (the gold axes and saber/sword thingies for eagles, gray saber/sword thingies for ravens). Eagles: Eglor Equila Eris Ewald Ewar Ravens: Rawzom Razar Razcal Rizzo Things I have to trade: Anything in my minifigure trading list (link in my signature). In addition to those, I could part with a S6 Roman or two, as well as a S3 Elf or two depending on the deal. Polybag figures (still sealed): Incredible Hulk Shadow ARF Trooper TC-14 Edit--Forgot a few more polybags: Mirkwood Elf TIE Fighter (set 8028) Republic Attack Cruiser (set 30053) Star Destroyer (30056)
  2. I like it! It's got a very cool function-over-form feel to it. Definitely believed you when you said it was originally a cargo vessel; it's very chunky with just enough in the way of fins and aerodynamics to keep it airborne. Love all the doodads on it, and those two circular sections on the sides are really cool.
  3. The good guys confuse me a bit here. On the one hand there's the lion emblem everywhere which is the same as, or at least very similar to, the lion emblem from older castle sets. Personally I never cared for that design. But then, I see crownie emblems everywhere: printed on the minifig torsos, on a few banners, etc. But the blue on the figures' arms (and on the castle) looks lighter than the dark blue of the crownies from the Fantasy Era, so now I'm confused again. Like mixing two groups and the end result is not more than the sum of the parts. The bad guys look... okay, I guess. Not super impressed overall, though I will say I really like the knight and his black/red horse. Looks like it would go very well with the Evil Knight CMF figure.
  4. Updated my post with some new haves from earlier series, and some wants from newer stuff. http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=52683&st=100#entry1259005
  5. Awesome pictures, thanks! I was originally pretty "meh" on all of these sets. Just the license alone didn't interest me. But there looks like a lot of really cool pieces that could be used in building for other themes. I like the stage coach set, because it's got three horses! Tonto and Red Knee have cool hairpieces/headresses too. The Silver Mine set also looks really nice; looks like a lot of pieces instead of just 5 or 6 big rock pieces.
  6. Just by looking at the sets it doesn't seem like there is a set scale for the entire line, though maybe individual designers or projects choose a scale in advance and work from there. Compare the Robie House (which I think is the biggest of the sets) to something like the Seattle Space Needle (one of the smallest). Clearly not the same scale, right? Or it could be (as I've read some people do this for MOCs): Choose a part or parts that are perfect for a really significant feature of the piece, and then build around the scale of that one part. In the Space Needle's case, maybe the designer started with the dish pieces at the top, or maybe the hoses on the sides, and scaled accordingly. Most, however, seem to fit into about a square foot, so if you aim for that size you might be okay. Though the Robie house might stretch outside that, it seems a bit long.
  7. The head of one of the figures from the Atlantis line has black cheek-lines, but more importantly a double-printed head! The back print is a scared expression, so your elves don't have to be so darned stoic all the time. Sometimes if a big troll or a dragon shows up, even the elves freak out! http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItem.asp?P=3626bpb396
  8. That really is too bad about the Modular Western Town. Out of all the cuusoo projects I've seen, that one seems to be the very best example of the system. While I can sort of see the point LEGO has about it "conflicting" with the Lone Ranger sets, I don't agree 100%. I think that's like saying the Creator line of houses conflicts with the City line, or the Modular buildings. You can combine all of those together, so too could you combine the Lone Ranger sets with the Modular Western Town. Or if anything, just hold on to the MWT set(s) until after the movie has come and gone. As for the Delorean, I would love to see it be a huge set with a crazy amount of detail--maybe R2D2 level of detail/piece count. It's such an instantly recognizable vehicle, I would hate to see it released as a tiny set with only 2 or 300 pieces.
  9. Jareth, hadn't seen that picture of your bullywugs until today. I first came up with the bracers idea with some minotaurs I made a little while ago: http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=73034. Your bullywugs are pretty cool. I like the alien heads, never thought about using them in a fantasy setting before. Turns out they're a good fit.
  10. I've used a toothbrush and some toothpaste, worked like a charm.
  11. Hey everyone, Wanted to share a few custom elves that I made a while ago. Based on this post by fred67: http://www.eurobrick...showtopic=56573 I used the werewolf hair piece and some yellow nail polish on the ears. Then I tried to mix and match some heads and body parts and came up with some decent results. I'd love to see what other people have come up with as well, so feel free to make suggestions or share your elves as well! Standard archer/soldier. Using an old samurai head turned out really well with the angled eyebrows and headband. I like the cape over the quiver a bit better, as it doesn't crease the cape. My guardsmen (and captain), using the old dwarf helmets and the conquistador armor. An elven priestess, with One Ring bracers and a staff from BrickForge. Also a custom cape from MMCB. Elven assassin and the spymaster. Scouts with leather armor from the S6 Highlander body, and Aztec heads. Swordsman and cavalier, using some BrickForge items. Generals. Even though the black-armored one on the right feels a little less elvish, he looks tougher.
  12. I tried several types of Krylon spray with bad results before trying their "Crystal Clear" spray. The others that I tried left a gray, dusty layer on top, dulling the color of everything. The Crystal Clear stuff is... well, clear. I can feel it, but haven't noticed any discoloration. As for the bucklers, I got a few of them as well. Not sure what I'll do with them just yet, but I have some ideas.
  13. I love the short cape on the muscled cuirass, and certainly wouldn't mind seeing it on other armor pieces! I may try to dry-brush some brown or black on the studs for a little bit of extra detail. I picked up a couple of extra shields from BrickTW for experimenting as well. I would really like to get a look similar to the dwarven armor from Skyrim: http://www.uesp.net/..._Armor_Male.jpg However, at this small of a scale I don't think I'd be able to pull it off to my satisfaction. As for protecting the paint, I've been using a Krylon clear spray on them after I'm done. Haven't had any problems so far
  14. Some new centaurs, and some changes to the stormer. First, I painted the ring at the base of the hair. I also tried a different torso, colored yellow with Sharpie: Picked up the Charger body as well, and gave him some BrickWarriors gear: Lastly, the Destrider. The over-the-top bladed helm goes nicely with the large horse body I think: Now, if only they could rear up like the new horses...
  15. A few more additions! I found an amazing shield from BrickTW, and it was the last piece I needed to finish this guy: The detail on the shield is superb, and the handles in back can rotate and let you pose in a variety of ways. I added some gold to the rhino helmet I started, and gave the other dwarf a two-headed axe. And a last side-by-side shot. The immovable object, and the unstoppable force. Good thing they're on the same side! Who knows what would happen if they ever collided...
  16. Not a member of any of the guilds, but I do lurk in the forums to catch a glimpse of the amazing creations. Here's my entry, an elven assassin.
  17. More armored dwarf goodness! With BrickWarriors releasing some new helmets and their "Muscled Cuirass" armor in silver, I picked up a few and tried them out on my dwarves. First, the plain options: Personally, I like the Rhino Helmet on the right much better. The Celestial Crown on the left is growing on me. Both helmets are fantastic though, and the detail on them is great. I really like the cape on the back. I feel like it looks a little off on a full-size figure (it's too short), but it's the perfect length for a dwarf! The silver is pretty close to BrickWarriors' steel color, and both of them are close to LEGO's dark bluish gray. I gave these guys some humongous minotaur axes: I put my trusty gold and silver paint markers to use again, and painted up a cuirass and helmet: At first the cape on the back was black, but then I added some blue on top for at least SOME color. The draped bit in the middle is still black (whoops, forgot that), but looking at it I don't think it's all that bad. Could just be a different piece of cloth. From the front view the helmet looks a little TOO silver. Maybe some gold around the face area? I also tried swapping helmets with my previous efforts: From the rear view, I love the gladiator helmet and the cape. All other angles, though... it looks off. Like the armor is too small and wimpy for such a gigantic helmet. The rhino helmet and horned plate armor together work well, though the helmet still looks like it has too much silver. And all together now: Dwarves don't mess around when it comes to battle. And just for laughs, some dwarves refuse to trim their beards... ever. Unfortunately for them, they can't put on a helmet because of it.
  18. Hehe, sure, why not? My army of bull-men and I would be honored to become honorary members. ... ... Psst... I included them because they'd get angry if they weren't invited.
  19. I might get a few more heads from BrickWarriors, but otherwise don't plan on adding anymore. Although I might try to do something with their steel and white colored heads... those would require a whole new body to go with them. But this is a good size for this faction, I think. Can only put so much time and money (and storage space!) into different groups, and I may have gone overboard with some elves and dwarves, my two favorites.
  20. The minotaur from Series 6 was one of my favorites of that set, and I picked up quite a few of them. I wanted to break up the clone effect and add some variety, especially with a leader figure. So with some BrickWarriors items, a dab of paint here and there, and a little help from the Dark Lord Sauron, here are the results! First off, the king: He's got a few BrickWarriors items: axe, head, and horns. The cloth items are from a seller on eBay, and two gold bracers from LotR. Now it all makes sense why there are extra "rings to rule them all" included with each set. Next up is the king's number one bodyguard: More BrickWarriors weapons, another head and some of their ram horns in black. At first I didn't like the shape of those horns, but they grew on me. The black is nice for some variety too. And just in case someone isn't aware they're fighting a bull-man, his shiny shield is a reminder. If a human had a shield with a picture of himself on the front, it would be ridiculous... but with a minotaur, it seems to work just fine! The non-chrome, printed version works well too. Last, but not least, the king's enforcer. I imagine this guy like the captain of the guard, or the Hand of the King from Game of Thrones... although this ill-tempered fellow tends to hit things first and ask questions later. I like the legs and torsos from the Pirates of the Caribbean set, Cannibal Escape; the bare torsos and loincloth print make for good minotaur parts. He's got a scimitar from BrickWarriors, a custom pauldron, and Blackbeard's cutlass. The king and his guards: And just for fun, the whole army: Need to get some more BrickWarriors heads and horns, I think. Too many clone heads out there.
  21. The conquistador armor is pretty fantastic. It's very detailed, but without any specific emblem so it can fit into any faction or army. Perfect for elite guards, golden knights (other than crownies) and so on. I picked one up from the member here who got his hands on some early, and I'm very happy with it. Oh, and the rest of the figure is nice too! But really, just the breastplate is my favorite part of this whole series. Thumbs up for the actor, diver, and alien queen. Other than that, most of the figures are kind of "eh" to me.
