  1. I hope you get your IPod soon, Leo! I use a 2nd gen IPod, so the app is not as quick as I'm sure it is on later versions of IPod/IPhone. I think he should be making an Android version of this app, because a lot more people are using the Android system, and he could make a lot more money (although he did state that it's not about the money for him) and make a lot more happy FOL's.
  2. Now that the list has been 'confirmed' (I really hope this is not the final list; especially for the planets sake), I thought it's time for me to give my thoughts on this upcoming wave. Using the smiley face > thumbs up > annoyed face > thumbs down system. The Old Republic BP: I'm not quite sure what to think about this set, with two Sith troops and two Republic troops, it may be very cool. Again, as has been said, I hope for Republic Trooper helmets and maybe a Sith Warrior. Clones vs Droideka BP: Sniper droidekas? Really? Why not give us the regular droideka and a couple of Super Battle Droids or something? Will be a smiley face if the clones are Phase 2 though. AT-RT: Still need a Yoda for my minifig collection, so this will do nicely, plus there is an opportunity for Phase 2 clone once again. Yoda needs a new print, and head, and colour. HINT HINT. A-Wing: I own Ackbar already (cough*username*splutter) so this would be more about how well the ship is designed. If it is the same as the Home One, I will not be amused. Unless we see an Endor camo Han. Z-95 Headhunter: Love the Clone Wars, so I will hopefully love this. Pong Krell!?!?!?! I must have him! Rancor Pit: Own Jabbas Palace and the Desert Skiff so this would complete that collection. Not happy about having two Ep 6 Lukes from the same sub story though. Go Rancor! Kamino Planet: NOT what we wanted from Kamino, the ship could have been more.....iconic. And the character completely newly designed and flesh.......Jango Fett. And not a wee beeper. Coruscant Planet: Not needing another clone pilot. May be redeemed by good Acclamator (my second favorite ship) or a better minifig such as a politician. Asteroid Planet (?): Again, NOT what we wanted from Lego, and to make matters worse, another tie pilot? Why Lego why? Anyway, to sum up, regular sets good, planet sets bad.
  3. I agree with you, looks as if it has a bit of bus and a bit of the Space Shuttle Atlantis too. Very nice MOC as usual, Bob! Would love to see a real life version of this. It has a Senate Transport look to it I think.
  4. Congrats to all of the winners! Enjoy the prizes and hope to see entries from you all next time! P.S. I actually got a vote! Woohoo!
  5. Muddy, I'm sure that this post is quite rude towards the moderators and regulators. Anyway, to keep on this topic, is there definitely going to be a General Krell minifig with a new torso or just a rumour so far?
  6. For 500 minifgures, having them on display (like I do) is unlikely to be a practical solution for you. What theme(s) are the minifigures from? If they are from differing themes, you can store them by theme, or you could buy a box of label stickers and name them by their item number individually. But only if you have lots of time on your hands. If all else fails, just buy a drawer and sort by leg colour. Hope this helps!
  7. After seeing this list for what is supposedly next years winter wave sets, I must say that it is very uninteresting to me. The Battle Packs are always a buy regardless of the content due to the low price, and I collect those planets too, but other than that, unless we see General Krell or good Phase 2 clone troopers such as Rex or Fives, it's a no buy for me. Might get the AT-RT however.
  8. I hope that we do see a Geonosis Planet as it would give them a chance to make Poggle the Lesser (The Archduke of Geonosis). I believe that the planet sets need to come with either new figures or updates of ones they did before (Lobot is a prime example) in order for them to be fully successful. That's why I didn't buy the X-wing, it was just a another generic pilot, and hopefully that is what Series 3 will not do.
  9. SWMinis allows you to to record the progress of your collection, or just look up that figure you saw in a 2003 set a couple of days ago. But at what cost? £1.99 may place it out of the ballpark for many iOS users, but boy, is it worth it! Read on to see why...... App Name: SWMinis - Lego SW Minifig Collector Publisher: Cherry Hill Tech LLC Price: £1.99 We are greeted with a rather eye pleasing image of several standout figures that all have some significance in the LEGO Star Wars world (some for better reason than others) upon startup of the app; something I thought added a touch of pleasantness to the overall feel. When the actual app loads on to the screen, we are presented with a plethora of options and things to do; the top of the screen shows the number of minifigs you own (unique only) from the total sum of (unique) minis to collect. The list of minifigs to look at covers the majority of the screen, and is simply a scroll up and scroll down interface; tapping on one of the figures within the list will open up to a screen showing information and pictures of that figure (we'll get to that soon). A point to note here is the sheer simpicity of the app. It's not too bogged down with hundreds of menus (and adverts are nowhere to be seen ), and it is also not too simple as to make you wonder whether the money was worth it. Anyway, the bottom of the screen allows us to sort figures by either year or our own ratings...... We also have the ability to sort out minifigures by the set number, name, or year of release (toggled by clicking the sort button at the top right of the screen) which can come in very handy if you wish to 'own' all of the minifigures in a set: And finally, the part you really care about, the minifigure display page! We are given bundles of info for each minifigure, with the name, set appearances, accessories and weapons to name a few bits. The stars at the top can be determined by tapping on the first star to rate that figure one star, the second to rate it two star and so on. The bottom allows you to toggle whether you own the minifig or not (in this case, I do ), and even better, you can flick through the entire gallery the same way you would your photo album on iOS (by swiping left or right for those who are less tech savvy). Here we can see all of this in action (you can see just how detailed the information is): The about option we saw at the start brings up a display of information ranging from app info to FAQ's, and even lists the updates! ______________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ This app is very useful to me and I'm sure will be for many others as it is so simple to use yet so well designed! As a big bonus for some, IPad functionality was added to the app recently (with a little advice from myself to brag) meaning you can view those hi-def (retina) pictures in about 3x the size I can! The only real downside I see from this app is that there is no pictures for the minifigure back printing, which can become a real pain for some. For this reason, I am going to score this set.... 9/10 I hope you enjoyed reading this as much as I enjoyed writing it and using the app, and make sure to give it a thorough look next time you browse the App Store; it could very well be the best £2 you will ever spend! The creator of this app also sells a similar app for the Collectable Minifigure Series. Check it out on the App Store by searching for Cherry Hill Tech.
  10. Good thinking ablake! If they make Yodas Hut and Ep2 sets next year, then they would be able to use a new mold for both of them!
  11. Very nice collection rogueang! I only have two snowtroopers!
  12. What kinds of sets do you own already? Do you own lots of technic? If so, I would recommend buying one of the less costly sets to compliment your existing collection, such as the helicopter. If you have none or few sets you may want to start big, with the UniMOG. My personal favourite is the Supercar. Hope this helps you out!
  13. I personally would rather have the Helicarrier Breakout, and since it will help you with your brickfilm, it makes more sense at the moment.
  14. It's almost cute until he eats a Gorg and starts smoking......
  15. I was hoping to buy the new Jabbas Palace set while it s still at retail price. I have previously bought the Venator ship and have spent well over £500 beforehand. Thanks for the help!
  16. I have £140 in my bank account, and we are going to toys r us tomorrow. Being the child I am, I want to get a Lego set (Jabbas Palace) priced at £120. The problem is, while I am allowed to, my mum thinks that I should wait until I have £200. I could earn it through working at her shop, but I could make the money whether I buy it or not. The thing that makes me feel guilty though is that she says she would be unhappy if I did buy it, and that she would find it immature. Do you think that I should buy it?
  17. If you think about it, the stains on his face could be syrup, and hes just eaten too many pancakes...... Oh my god, so many friends, its too much! I look forward to seeing more funnies from you, Ackbar!
  18. I don't think I've ever been left laughless in this topic at all; too funny! Very funny, Ackbar! It's so true, as Wall E2624 said, the chest peice is the cherry on the top of the cake.
  19. Lots of great entries here, but here are my five votes: 23. Brickmamba - 1 24. pjpviv 28. wokajoblocka - 1 30. Multiverse - 1 37. aescarion - 1 Good luck to all entries!
  20. I have to disagree with you on this, although I can see your point. While it looks just horrible, it was a good way to get figures from a later series of the clone wars, and the slopes used to build it come in very handy at times. Thanks for your comments guys! Keep em coming!
  21. This ship looks fantastic, Commander Colt! The colour scheme (bar the inverted slopes) is spot on, and the ship is amazingly close to the source material! Good job!
  22. Welcome to Eurobricks, DarthPotato! I'm sure you will enjoy it here, as does the rest of the EB community! See you in the Star Wars forum!
  23. I would definitely a set with a new non-CW Yoda! No doubt there. Either can I, but I feel we may need to wait a while for them. Im looking to see a new Cloud City or a Geonosis Battle Arena in those names, and a Rebel Scout Trooper BP.
  24. Your last funny I thought was hilarious, DarthPotato! This would have been a much better scene in the film if Anakin said that.....
