  1. Great work! I would just replace that stone arch (gray) on the wood pillars with the wood arch (brown).
  2. I know that Sauron bred Uruk-hai first, but in the films, this fact is not mentioned, because they wanted to differeniate Saruman´s army from Sauron´s army. I just posted it because it´s interesting to see marching army of Uruk-hai (in Uruk-hai armor from the final film - so Isengard Uruks) with the Sauron´s banner :)
  3. Deathleech: LotR geek´s note:There is scene where Sauron´s army is all in uruk-hai armor. But it was only in the first teaser and it was never used in final version of the films. I don´t like that uruk-hai helmet on Mordor orc too. http://img24.eu/images/67kmjh0v.png
  4. "...a forum designed around Lego enthusiasts is not going to give you a realistic view of the market, it just becomes an echo chambre of a very specific type of fan" ...that´s right.
  5. When I was a kid, I bought this (well, my parents bought...) http://www.1000steine.com/brickset/images/6105-1.jpg There were no special character and I had a lot of fun with that set (I added it to my castle collection). It was perfect battle-pack. Yes, I know that it was not based on some movie, so there couldn´t be special characters...it would be great to see something like this in LotR/Hobbit theme.
  6. Deathleech: Nice ideas. Personally, I would add just one think - replace one generic uruk-hai with uruk-hai general with that cool helmet (from my avatar).
  7. Darth Cadeus. Hmm...It´s strange to design the sets based on prologues, not on the movie itself. Better choice would be some battle packs to me (Goblins, Gundabad Orcs, Dwarfs, Lake-towners...). + that palatír in Orthanc doesn´t looks as good as you described it, because it can´t show the eye of Sauron, like that one from Wizards Battle.
  8. Black Falcons!
  9. But Radagast was alive, Azog not.
  10. Blazej_Holen: Why "old orc prints". I voted for Mordor battle-pack with new prints :)
  11. LegoThomas: everything about LotR 3rd wave was already discussed...so this thread doesn´t make sence to me...+ personally, I don´t like "choose one thing" questions. You know, I like many kinds of meal, how could I choose just one as the best? With Gondor but without Balrog or Witch King, the 3rd wave would be incomplete for me...with Balrog, Witch King but without Gondor (and important characters - Faramir, Denethor)...the 3rd wave would be incomplete for me..etc.
  12. Deathleech: It´s difficult to choose just one thing, because the 3rd wave needs more than one thing to satisfy LotR fans - Gondor faction, Witch King (+ fellbeast), Balrog (some fans want Treebeard, too),...maybe new prints for orcs, and many more...
  13. Finally, Gandalf arrived to the Council of Elrond. :)
  14. Alcarin: Well, I´m building Uruk-hai army, but I still don´t have that set.
  15. It would be nice to see first LEGO LotR/Hobbit battle pack "Battle of the Five Armies" - 1x Eagle, 1x Elf, 1x Orc, 1x Dwarf, 1x Lake-town Soldier. But...is it possible? I think not.
  16. If it will ends without the 3rd wave, I hope there will be at least one huge UCS set, including important characters and Gondor faction.
  17. "That would be totally deviating from the book, but not impossible I guess." Yeah...maybe they will use molten gold as a weapon again. Just joking.
  18. ah...I thought that you have collection of LotR+Hobbit minifigures ;)
  19. deskp: I think it doesn´t depends on the quantity of the sets, but on their atractivity. Imagine this situation: The Hobbit sets are more atractive and appealing to the customers (AFOLs, kids, movie fans, Tolkien fans), they are buying them in big amounts, and LotR sets stay on the shelves (and vice versa). If there are just Hobbit (or LotR) sets, what would you buy? Hobbit (LotR), or Chima or something?
  20. Maybe they just want to sell more Hobbit sets, without canibalism effect caused by LotR?
  21. Lord Vladivus: Sorry, I don´t own that set, I just looked on the pictures and it looked like the Mirkwood spiders have only 6 legs. Now I googled it again and I see that they have really 8 legs...my bad.
