I couldn't take it anymore... Santa Fe Super Chief MOD/MOC
toxicbananna replied to firstofminifigs's topic in LEGO Train Tech
Woah! great collection bro. I too have a full set of santa fe with only 1 B unit, total of 7 cars. Just a question, I'm attached motors on my locomotive with one 9v motor and one pf motor pulling 6 cars behind and it seems to struggle around the curves after a while. How many motors have you attached on you santa fe? -
seems like set 60097 tram has been motorised by 9v train motor

here the video guys, it is massive!!

Placed a FPV camera inside a Lego 60051 train, stream directly to a 5.8ghz receiver and boy am I in for a treat!

Same here, I'm still waiting for all of his video to understand more about Arduino programming before jumping into it!

Voltage input and output on 9v train regulator
toxicbananna replied to toxicbananna's topic in LEGO Train Tech
I do know that using 20v to run my motor will kill it eventually. I'll not pump to my layout at 20v all the way, just only on some section of my track layout.. Do you happen to have the circuity of the regulator so that I could change the chip to increase my output of 20v? I do know that 9v train are pretty fast on the full turn, just that i have a couple of long straights which would like to increase it speed. I do not have a 12v lego transformer, does the output of the transformer similar to the 9v ones? Thanks for the info, I would like to use the original 9v controller rather than after market controllers. -
Hi Guys, I wanted to increase the voltage output for my 9v layout thus I bought an adapter which rated 20v 2amp, plugged it in and crank it to the maximum and noticed the output from the regulator is still at 9v. Questions for the electronics gurus, 1. Is there a safety feature on the Lego 9v regulator which disallow more than 9 volts output? 2. Is there any way of modifying the regulator to allow me to output as per my adapter ratings? Cheers guys!

great video!! makes me more confident to jump into Arduino.. Would you be able to do another video on your sensor input?

is there a driver motor module which can control 12 motors? also which Arduino board I should get which can cater so many control output?

hey guys.. been reading up these post and was wondering if modififying the switch track to create lesser friction, will it damage the track? I look at my switches and it looks like if you pull the base out, it will not seems to stick back. any ideas?

i always wanted to buy an Arduino to control all of my trains.. but I didnt have the courage to do it as I have zero knowledge in programming. Just checking if is hard to do programming?
