  1. I am very much looking forward to see it! My dream is to build a huge medieval village ~7x4 48x48 baseplate or 10x5 32x32 baseplate big depending on what I can buy cheaper.
  2. Just wondered: Who else is tearing down MOC-es after making photos? Do you tear them all down, or do you keep some? is there somebody who keeps them all? I am curious especially in case of those builders who put out big and awesome stuff. Derfel Cadarn, zcerberus, Sirens (just to name a few, without making a complete list here)? What about you?
  3. I teared down all my vigs, but I will keep the City Guard Barracks. It is aesthetically very pleasing and got a nice spot in my home. Also I will take it to some LEGO exhibitions we will have in Hungary.
  4. Now that I am finished with my Albion City Guard Barracks I have started to build my second house. In a very different style. As I have a smaller budget to spend on lego this house will surely take me another 2-3 month to finish. I hope I can participate in some mini challenges with the spare parts I have left. I won't do any fast vigs anymore.
  5. I am not going to quote the picture again, but really nice job Z! I love to see all the sigfigs in one picture! And I feel honored that Lord Mephistopheles stands among them! All hail Avalonia!
  6. Your building skills are just amazing! There are so many wonderful details, that I will have to look at the pictures for few more hours to get it all in my head. I especially love the floor you made there. Just wonderful!
  7. I love this build! Very well done. I had a very similar idea to build water, good to see this in reality!
  8. Regarding the chimney: my idea was that the chimney will also transport the heat from the stove to the second floor. I don't know how realistic this is or not, but I seemed logical to me. This way one fire is enough to heat the house a little.
  9. Thanks all for your nice comments and helpful criticism! Yes, I should do landscaping, but that would take about another 2 month of saving for me and I really wanted to post this house. This doesn't mean of course that I won't add a surrounding later on. I have already plans and some pieces done for the interior. Once I am done with landscaping and interior I will give this post an update.
  10. Dear Guild Member! Here is my entry for Albion: City Guard Barracks And here is my sigfig Lord Mephistopheles of Woodward Avalonia.
  11. The building is done! City Guard Barracks
  12. City Guard Barracks (No.12) is done! City Guard Barracks
  13. Hi all! Finally I have finished my first real MOC. All that I have been building so far were made out of spare parts just to keep me busy. I've started this MOC in January. Out of financial reasons it took me until today to collect all bricks needed for this MOC. First I had no idea for what I want to "use" this house, but than I've joined Avalonia and seen the Albion: the capital city of Avalonia thread. I've seen that building No. 12 happens to have the same "L" shape, so I've decided to dedicate this build to Albion. This House serves as a Barrack for the city guard. Barrack in the meaning, that the Guards off duty live and rest here. No training or drills are held in here. This MOC is pretty much based on Derfel's guide, but I added few little ideas myself. For example I made it modular. Later on I will add interiors. You might wonder why the tooth pieces on the wall alternate red-white-green. The reason for this is simple. I have to get the maximum out of such MOC-es regarding "usefulness". I will take this House to LEGO exhibitions and meetings here in Hungary and our Flag is made of red, white, green stripes. You might find it interesting that I made an approximate brick count and I used ~3300 bricks for this build. Enough talking. Here are the pics: UPDATE: Older pictures: I hope you like it :)
  14. This is just amazing!!! Awesome MOC!
  15. Meph will post his sigfig tomorrow :)
  16. You are very welcome!
  17. He has done that already: My link
  18. The feud Longbow Archers. Just ask the French knights how fun that this.
  19. I don't have a sigfig yet. In my next bricklink order I will add some minifig parts and build my sigfig. I am on it, just give me some time.
  20. Well, this highly depends on what and how you build. I gave this example because it worked for my house that is currently built of around 3200 pieces. I build MOC in two different ways. I have a main project were I do not make any compromises. I rather save up money two-three month longer than to choose a much cheaper but less satisfying way to build. Meanwhile I MOC with spare parts I have, were I have to make the best out of what I have available. My example was based on the main project.
  21. I am really looking forward to this. I've joined Avalonia too late to be able to make any quality build for challenge 3.
  22. I've figured that you can count with a ~0,1$ - 0,15$/per piece average cost. So if you plan a very detailed mediocre size MOC that consumes 3000 piece of LEGO that would end up around 300$ - 450$. This is not very precise, but gives you a good estimate.
  23. This is an awesome build! I love the roofwork you done there!
  24. This seems like a very good idea! Thanks, I'll keep this in mind!
  25. Well, I am the acting manager of our small family business. We are a wholesaler for decorative articles and import our goods from China. No science here as you can see, though I love reading educational books (physics, astronomy, cosmology mainly).
