  1. "Mhmm... I am remembering that the Bonapartes who hired us mentioned that a Mage with magical abilities in the forms of wood or lightning would be useful, and we happen to have one. Now, have we tried directing one of those spells at the cannon? Or could we even somehow load a lightning or wood bomb into the cannon? I would like to try."
  2. Well, Yasu was a no-good traitor. Excellent. Well, I don't think there's any doubt that Lloyd's killer was a Mutineer last night. We didn't have any other sort of kill, so I'm guessing that the vigilante/serial killer (if there are any) didn't act or don't exist. Which is a little surprising, considering our numbers. One lynch per day and one kill per night will leave us here for a very long time until either side wins. Perhaps some people like to have fun in these games... of life rather than treat them as a "job" like you seem to be doing. If you want to do it that way, fine, but do not "throw stones from inside glass houses". In your first post, you say you can't blame the gazelle, but in your second post you "look down" on people who act their part and even imply that by doing so they are unhelpful. It works both ways. So if you want to take yourself so seriously, go right ahead, but do not bash on the people who are trying to have a good time. It is possible and even probable to roleplay and help one's team effectively. For examples, watch the films of Mystical Castle and The Curse of Imhotep. Actually, I think the scum are more likely to disguise themselves by voting with the crowd rather than against it. That seems like a logical accusation. Along with others mentioned today, Tamiko is talking but not saying much of anything. And in this situation where we have a lot of people it is very easy to blend into the crowd that way.
  3. OoC: We can still open those other crates, across the hall from the pier, right?
  4. Nope, I figured Patricia's favor would be enough.
  5. Experience is the best form of learning, IMO. Once you've participated in a Mafia School game, you should be pretty well off. The rest will come as you go.
  6. Hybros shrugs. "I wouldn't mind opening it, we've always found useful things in these crates. In any case there's a stack of crates opposite the pier, so we should open them."
  7. I did catch the Shadows reference, I think he had a similar name in an early mafia game. And no, the reference I'm thinking of isn't a person, but a place (The Fang Coast).
  8. I did miss this one, but I don't think "invision" is really a person or admin, it's the board software provider. But yes these little tributes are cool. The conscientious observer would also notice that WhiteFang has a cameo somewhere in this game...
  9. Yes, that's partly what I meant but by claiming role cop and hoping to live would also take resources (night actions targeting him) away from the loyal members of our families when they could be used to confirm other members. In addition, I agree with my father in that letting Yasu run loose is a bad idea, regardless of loyalty. Clearly she was our best option for today.
  10. Suddenly, in Jolly Roger's Grotto, a pink envelope flew through the window and landed neatly on Hybros' hat. He pulled it out, puzzled, and opened it to reveal Boomingham's letter. Boomingham... it had been a very long time since Hybros had last seen the boisterous knight, and he had to admit that hearing from him again felt good. He spotted a nearby candle that lit the hallway, and put it out with his fingers. He used the ash to scribble a response. Dear Boomingham, It is good to hear from you again, after all this time. Yes, I am currently in Jolly Roger's Grotto on the behalf of the Bonapartes. It has been going well. I've reaped the rewards from defeating these pirates, and except from one incident ... Hybros crossed the last part out. He decided not to tell Boomingham that he had been knocked out in battle. ...and we've made good progress. Eric, myself, and the others should be returning soon, so we will see you soon. Perhaps we will even quest together sometime soon. Hybros thought for a moment, and decided it was time to move on. He looked forward to hearing Boomingham's stories, when he returned to the Hall. He much preferred to speak in person. He signed his name and whispered "I've got Z-Mail".
  11. "Oh yes, there is that locked door... let's open it now."
  12. Hybros looked up at Eric and smiled a little beneath his face cloth. He did have to admit, being a "hero" was quite profitable, and here in front of him lay a chest filled to the brim with more gold. He would surely be investing in more nostrums when he was able to return to the marketplace. "Now let's see... yes, I don't think we've been up that wooden staircase, we'll have to fight those pirates to get through. And those wooden stairs to the right are where we came up from. I agree with Maurice, hehe..."
  13. As Aiko said earlier, what earlier behavior? There's this rule against "metagaming" in this wonderful family, and I wouldn't be surprised if Grandpa punished you for your insolence.
  14. I am liking your character, Endgame (welcome to EB and Heroica, by the way). It will be interesting to see how the character progresses. Looking forward to the picture, but you might want to add race (or race unknown) to your character profile). On a completely separate note, four mugs in a row for the record? Oh yeah, and I also like the update, Quarry. Nice combo for Namrrya's getup, and I like the summoned creatures (last two are hilarious, the demon is awesome).
  15. Unfortunately, we're going to need something other than just water. Helium won't cut it, either, so I guess Olegaia will have to have some sort of element that can be maintained at 0 Kelvin. What's more is that the element will have to be distributed to the entire universe, since it's the only truly closed system in existence. Hm, Quest, maybe?
  16. Yes, but five seems like an awfully low number for how many of us there are... if there is any significance in the genies to this extent, maybe they have a recruiting ability. That's a very good point. From what I've seen, Yasu is acting very erratically, and it seems to me that it's very possible her scummy buddies are whispering in her ear. "Claim role-cop, it's a safe claim for scum". Even if she isn't scum, she is a danger to the town. If she spilled her role right away, who's to say she won't use her night action poorly, or possibly even reveal the results at the wrong time and to the wrong people. It would also take a night or more to verify her claims, which detracts from other usage of night actions (e.g. focusing in on one person, directing night actions are just what the scum want), as well as taking the risk that she'll be killed anyway. I'm willing to take a... "calculated risk" here, by voting for you, Yasu. Vote: Yasu (TheBoyWonder)
  17. OoC: Ah, I see, thanks. I always did it so the encouraged effect included everything, but this way works too. "Thank you Maurice, eheh." With his wallet heavy with gold, Hybros followed the party to the jail. Hopefully Reno was still in one piece...
  18. Forgive me if I missed this, but is there any apparent significance in the five genies? Grandpa had a vision about them, and that came true, so is it just to confirm his uh... foresight?
  19. I am in awe of Quest 19's semi-conclusion.
  20. I know, the lucky-effect is really nice. But, better not speak too soon, that jailor can defeat Hybros in a single hit.
  21. Too much herbal tea, perhaps? Anyways, with so many people it might be difficult to root out the Mutineers. Keeping track of everyone's names is enough (oh yes, I love you all so much ), so we'll have to be extra vigilant today and until we are successful.
  22. After a highly successful round, Hybros thinks it might be a better idea to first retrieve his throwing weapons, and throw his knife from the back row, and not try his luck. The ice bomb would also weaken him while freeing his allies. OoC: Sorry for being picky again, but I think you calculated the mugs wrong. Let me check my math here: WP: 10 x3 = 30 + 13 = 43 x2 (encouraged) = 86 86 + 86 = 172 ...I think that's right. Or did you multiply in a different order? Also, how is the Jailor's ether calculated? You said 1 ether per cage but he has spent 4.
  23. No problem, thanks for fixing it. Hybros, feeling much more confident, attacks the Jailor from the front row with Zoot's Reaper, with both of his turns..
  24. Jirou's here. It also looks like Betty Swallocks has made a return appearance.
