Many times, but I never seriously wanted to scrap Hybros. There's just times where I wish I would've picked a character that's easier to relate to, and could be more flexible (there's a lot of things that Hybros can't do or say due to his nature. Having extreme emotions is one of them.).

Reading Rainbow? I'm trying to remember from my childhood, but I don't recall any characters resembling De'kra.

I don't think it's a huge problem as long as it's kept to a minimum. The highest SP that any artifact has is 2, and they can't be upgraded. If it stays that way, I think it's acceptable to have a few artifacts with SP floating around. Besides, there are also items that imitate the effects of other classes, such as the health-stealing daggers (Guts and Atramor). To answer Flipz's question: I think I've already explained references for Hybros's character, but his physical appearance was actually a design for a Collectable Minifigs contest here on EB. I believe it was for the S5 Category B contest, where entrants had to design 16 unique CMs and display them in a 16x16 bignette. I could never get the thing published in time, but an imp was on of my minifigs, and a few months later came Heroica so, viola, Hybros was born.

Agreed. It's been over 24 hours. Knifk should attack the lightning dragonet.

Happy Birthday Rufus! Have an excellent day.

I agree, an excellent cover. I think both this and the original are great songs in the own respects. I just bought a few Chevelle albums, and I really like this band. They're heavy sounding, but they don't scream or growl which is perfect for me.

You'll just have to wait and see.

Hybros turns to the Frost Dragonet and attacks it from the front row. So much for luck.
-
Hybros grins a little under his face cloth. The man-made drinks he'd just consumed were taking effect, and Zoot's Reaper would have it's time to shine with any of the given enemies. He gripped it firmly, and attacked the Fire Dragonet from the front row.

Thanks for the info, CopMike. I personally like the new design. It's a modernized version of the horse that's been around for at least 20 years, so it looks similar yet is more pose-able and fits in better with today's sets. Also, it doesn't look <insert that tiresome argument> (i.e. too much detail so that it looks like an action figure rather than Lego), as opposed to molds like the Taun Taun and Wampa.

I think I like the surrounding buildings more than the pods themselves. It's just that the the little details like the stands and the arches are very thoughtful. Well done and good luck in the competition.

Thanks for the guide, Flipz, looking forward to more. A few things that I had different thoughts on (pertaining to Rogue, since of course it is what I know the most of out of the classes). First, there's really no advantage outside of roleplaying for a Rogue to pay off a Barbarian or Mage for protection. We're perfectly capable of fighting for ourselves, and have the income to afford stockpiles of potions and enhancing consumables. And like CallMePie pointed out, Mages/Barbarians can't really "protect" Rogues since the dice rolls are independent. In addition to this, like you say, Rogues really are Jacks-of-all-Trades. They can fight from the front or the back and have the cash flow to maintain upgrades for multiple weapons (as well as Nostrums and Meads to keep scoring high-powered Mugs). And their ACs seem to adopt more of the other class of the hybrid, rather than enhancing rogue-like traits. One other thing I'd like to point out is that you assess each class individually, when in reality the successful completion of quests and battles relies on a team effort. All basic classes work well with each other. A Knight supports the team by protecting with his/her shield, a Cleric heals, a Mage can disable enemies, and Barbarians, Rogues, and Rangers can deal good amounts of damage. Also, when you buy consumables (like Phoenix Essences), you're buying them for your teammates and not yourself. Although most heroes seem to be more greedy than heroic... Anyway, just figured I'd point that out. I'm really looking forward to the complete guide, especially the bit about balancing quests. You should consider hosting one yourself, Flipz. I disagree. Advanced Classes offer much more than just weapon-based advantages. Such as the Assassin's OHKO or the Evoker's ability to summon. In the latter case I think the class is more tailored to Mages anyway, since they've had time to gather more gems whereas a Ranger might not have any (which holds especially true to heroes who joined before the ACs were revealed).

Ah. The battle wasn't over yet, and in the meantime they needed to deal with another enemy while the dragon prepared itself. Bracing himself, Hybros downed a Mead, Nostrum, and bottle of Smelling Salts, followed by a potion. He then threw a grand potion to Elgar, who was just barely standing. "You're going to need this."

Thanks for your comment, Legowraith. Would you have any specific idea on how to make the wings better? I'm thinking about making a full-fledged MOC after the contest concludes, of an improved MAM and the surrounding area.

Out of sheer boredom I calculated Atramor's Ratsbane elemental effects: 4x Beasts Plants Vermin 2x Electric 1x Flying Ice Fire Everything else Ineffective Rock Mechanic I think this is a rare instance in which it is advantageous to have so many elements in one weapon. Luckily the ineffectiveness against Rock is shared by three of the four gems, so few enemies can stand against Ratsbane.

Hybros braced himself against the fiery breath of the dragon. His raggedy tunic caught on fire, and he patted at it furiously to try to put it out. At least his potion didn't go to waste, and thanks to Alf the dragon was now in full decay. He quickly tried to throw his Throwing Knife again from the back row. The battle was taking a turn for the worse. One member down, and another close to the same fate. He hoped the dragon's opening wings signaled its departure, or else the party would have a hard time defeating it.

I've been thinking this for a while now. From when we were discussing which actors would potray characters of Heroica, Atramor would definitely be Jason Statham. He has little to no range at all, but I like him for the roles he plays and Atramor would be a fitting one IMO.

Scubacarrot: I didn't mind the ending. It was a little sudden, but loose ends leave room for sequels. On another note, Zepher, Brickdoctor and I are all excited to be hosting the three Dastan quests (and hope you are too!). In case anyone was looking for it, Sandy did make a post in the library about Dastan, here. In case anyone was curious.

With two more quests ending, I would like to add my feedback here. Quest 17: I really enjoyed following this one. It was interesting to see what the heroes could come up with in the freedom of the tower defense-style set-up. The battles were epic, and I thought the loot was interesting too. I thought the degree of freedom was just right, though one gripe I have is that sometimes the pause between battles felt too long. There should've been a shorter time limit, IMO, but other than that well done, Doc. Quest 23: I liked how this one was short and sweet. Between long, epic quests it's nice to have simpler ones. I liked the mystery aspect to it (particularly how the players had to do things based on pictures and not descriptions). The battles were challenging, which is good. I loved the character interactions, as well. That's one advantage to having a small party (not to mention that all four were extremely active throughout, which definitely made all the posts worth reading). Hope to see more from you in the future, Scubacarrot.

Yes, as long as Alf decides to attack from the front row. This way he won't get KO'd if Damage is rolled.

...Have you been reading anything at all during this quest?
-
OoC: I know. If I give you a potion you'll be fine. Attack from the front.
