Wow! These are lovely custom figures...your friends are lucky people! Very creative use of many different bricks....love your colors, too. It is sad that there are so few bricks released in the pastel colors because they are perfect for wedding scenes like this. Maybe the new Friends sets will give us more choices in pastel bricks as new sets come out. Again a very nice custom set of figures that should receive a lot of praise at and after a wedding.

REVIEW: 853340 Minifigure Wedding Favour Set
Legogal replied to WhiteFang's topic in Special LEGO Themes
I like this set in general but would prefer a flesh skin color and options for darker skin and Asian and darker heads. And the other decorations should be Lego, too. It is great that they introduced a wedding couple. If it had been out in time for my son's wedding last year, we would have had to choose between this and Playmobil's wedding couple, which we used as his cake topper. I like the PM couple better because their larger size allows for more details. PM also had the whole wedding theme done beautifully...church, limo, pianist, catered meal under a tent, photographer, etc. We set it out on a table, and the guests loved it. Maybe Lego will do a similar theme; it could be very popular! This would fit quite well with the Friends theme, and females love to plan weddings! -
I am not surprised at all at the high ranking for sales of Friends sets on Amazon! These are fabulous sets that fill a massive void in the Lego line of products. And many folks don't live near a TRU or Target or Lego Store, so they must order them online. These sets are so much fun to build and play with that many guys are buying them, too. It is about time after decades of mass destruction toys by Lego. I am so sick of the male dominated sets that it makes me ill. My husband and grown son like them, too. Hoorah for Friends!

Thanks for the review! I was considering this one, but will pass due to the lack of interesting parts. Seems like they forgot half of the set on this one. Some of the other into sets are fine, though. And I love most of the larger sets, so please don't let this one turn you off on the entire Friends line.

Thanks for showing us this set. Andrea is really a cool character; we love her darker skin and curly hair. Very nicely done. Hope they bring out more color variations so everyone can find a Friend with their skin color. I guess this calls for an Asian and an African next. The parts look great together once this is built, and I love this set. Future singing stars shoud, too!

Thanks for the review....I have been considering this set, so it was quite helpful. I agree that the colors of the car and the camper are dull and worn out...not very exciting. The 7635 camper had a great color scheme with a little pizzaz. I would have chosen the new Friends purple for the car and matching purple and lime stripes for the camper to jazz it up. I am dreadfully tired of vehicles in primary colors like yellow, green, red and blue. Please provide some variation with all of the shades TLG makes of just about every color. And the interior of the camper does nothing for me except scream...I am badly designed. Please give us something that a person can walk around in and open a fridge and reach a range with a few cabinets and a decent door. At least this is a civilian set, and that is a big step forward....can't exactly see taking my family for a spin in our garbage truck or police van. Or camping with a firetruck; yes, we need more civilian sets that somewhat normal people can actually use in their real lives. Like others, I do like the female torso...it looks great! we could use a few more new torsos as the old ones are getting old for sure!

It really is fun adding System minifigs to the Friends sets! Glad that the sets can be mixed together. We are expanding a couple of Friends sets and have used a lot of our existing parts to do the build. It is wonderful that the parts blend so well. Once folks begin building with these sets, I think that the Friends controversy will go away for the most part. Friends sets are full of new, vibrant colors and decorating pieces that lighten up any build. They should attract serious builders of both sexes. Cheerio!!!

We just bought another vet set because the design and parts are so cool, especially the curved blue bricks forming the front roof. Trying to make a very large combined set so there are exam rooms, waiting rooms, recovery rooms, etc. My daughter-in-law adores the Friends sets, too, and is helping build this expanded vet. We both are in love with Henry the Hedgehog, and now have someone for them to play with! You will first notice that these baseplates are thicker than the normal plates in the same sizes. So we may transfer everything to normal height plates in order to can expand around the set, too. It was be nice to add a small park area outside so folks could take their pets outside while waiting for their appts. Selecting some minifigs to place in the vet office as customers, etc.; this is where the collectibles come in handy! This should be a lot of fun with all of the fantastic parts in two sets!

LEGO Collectable Minifigures Series 6 Discussion
Legogal replied to Rufus's topic in Special LEGO Themes
Our TRU in Raleigh NC has only Series 5 displayed. No 6 yet. I buy 6 at the Lego Store at Crabtree. Target has none either. Still have not managed to get a Sleepyhead or Genie. Having a tough time feeling the differences. I do love the 10 different Series 6 figures I have so far! Hope they arrive in your stores soon! -
Wow! What a cool winter cottage/hostel in the countryside. Love the snow melting off the roof. This looks like a fun place to stay and hike a bit. Wonderful job!

Cooler, Absolutely love your mansion! The details are astounding! And the garden is to kill for! Lovely use of plants and foliage. This is quite a masterpiece. And all of the photos are very helpful. I understand your need to use the parts to build something else. It costs so much to buy the parts that this is always a problems with large builds like this. Good luck building your train station. I like the archictectural style of St. Petersburg. Keep up the great work in the New Year!

Just picked up Stephanie's car and love it! The colors are outstanding just like in the other sets. And of course you can build them in any color you choose if you can find the parts. So customize away! Just the right amount of work to build, and for once, the wheels slid easily into the tires so that a 6 year old could do this. Stephanie looks so cute cruising down the street past the vet, cafe, beauty salon, Olivia's house, and so on. So pull out your rewards points at TRU, left over rebate checks from your new cell phone, the cash hidden under the floor mats of your car or rugs in your house, and any gift cards you may have left from the holidays and head to the stores. It is time to cash in all of your credits and have some fun with your new Friends!

Does anyone know if Lego has changed the composition of the plastic itself since this 1992 warning that 104 degrees F was the max temp? I have so many rubbermaid 18L containers that it would be great to store some in our attic that gets very hot in the summer. What is the current max temp the Lego recommends? Is there any minimum temp as well? I would never store my most valuable ones, my minifgs, up there. Thanks, Legogal

Thanks for the cool review! Especially loved Suki and the Kyoshi Warrior...ooops...you mean they don't come with the car....oh shoot! Anyway I love the colors....we need something other than the dull and boring primary colors in our arsenals...and I vote for pastels. They are so easy on my tired old eyes...tired from reading about and building Legos that is! Guess I gotta go buy this one now, too. That will put me up to 11 of the 14 Friends sets. Wow! Seems they are a winner in our house as this point. So glad I missed the earlier controversies over Friends....ad nauseum and ad infinitum. Joining EB 3 days ago was a blessing! I hope everyone gets over the so called controversies about Friends and just enjoys them...btw,,,they are just toys...so go have some fun! I surely am!!!

Silent Mode!!! Just built this one, and yes it is totally adorable! Everything about it....period. Love your Henry the Hedgehog plea for funding and hot water bag (is it) on his head? The cute ponytailed minifig in pink walking in the door is also adorable. Makes you wish that you had/have three little girls of your own to play with these sets....all we have are stinking boys...who managed to grow up rather well in spite of all the Lego lying around our house. Your review was super helpful here and so entertaining on a crappy rainy day...forcing me to go buy 8 more Friends sets at the Lego Store to overcome my weather induced depression. Fortunately it is usually sunny here! Please keep reviewing Friends as we all need your wonderful insight and astounding humorous notes!

Wow! Love your hot tub MOC! I have already bought three more 3931's after building the first one, and will combine them as you have done. Reminds me so much of my fav Paradisa sets from the 90's. Also love the pool lounge chairs, so multiples will be wonderful. Pool/spa scenes are always so much fun because I have about 200 pool minifigs to join the party. These sets are just sensational! The pink and lime color scheme with various blues is sensational for pool scenes. Way to go Lego!

Sets: Dismantle for MOC, buy another, Bricklink instead...
Legogal replied to legoalex919's topic in General LEGO Discussion
I, too, take most of the minifigs apart right away and build light flesh toned or darker women with the pieces for my collection. Don't care for the yellow skin tones. Store many torsos for this in separate containers by color so I can find them. Then I can easily build women (and men) figs for our MOCs. Most sets end up parted out and the bricks stored by color and size in large containers so they are ready for building. A few favorite sets stay built...the Taj Majal my husband lit up after a family build 4 Christmases ago. The Maersk container ship with its cool colors. And a few MOC's stay out....my Duplo doll/play houses are my favs at the moment. Getting ready to customize my 10 new Friends sets and place them in a shopping boutique layout. My son's fav MOC required about a zillion bricks; the Petronas Towers is on permanent display because hubby spent an entire weekend making a lighting harness and it looks splendid in our entryway with the Taj. Flip the wall switch and you have an LED spectacle! Son's goal is to build something from each country he has visited, so he is only behind 30 more builds at age 23. Forbidden City in Beijing has been more of a challenge than he expected. Do remember to keep your older trashed bricks separate from the newer ones or you MOC's will look horrible. Just finished sorting for the hundredth time the bricks our sons played with growing up, and they look terrible; can only be used for the interior of something where they are not visible. Good luck! -
LEGO Collectable Minifigures Series 6 Discussion
Legogal replied to Rufus's topic in Special LEGO Themes
Series 6 seemed difficult to identify for me. I bought 18 yesterday at a Lego Store and ended up with only 10 of the 16. But the multiples I got were perfect for my new Friends sets. I really like the skateboarder and skier. Next will have to find Sleepyhead with her teddy bear. And the surgeon. The lady in red does have a lovely outfit even if I don't care for red that much. Would be nice to see some female Asian faces and more darker skins in the collectibles. -
I've just finished building 10 of the Friends' sets, and next I want to remove as much red and yellow as possible because I prefer pastels. Olivia's house was especially fun to build! Amazed that the tan, white, and lime green colors go so well together; the first two make wonderful buildings, but I have never combined lime with them. And pinks (all but the lighter ones) look great with those colors as well....thankfully! It will be difficult matching the blues as the new one does not look that great with all of my aqua, teal, Maersk and other blue pastel colors. And I have not figured out how to use my many shades of purple with the new color. But something will work if I pull them all out and remove many of the red and yellow pieces. Guess this means that it is time to increase my stocks of lime pieces and pull out all of the pinks. Sounds like fun!

Wow! Olivia surely does like as if she is having lots of fun in her new workshop! Lovely MOC with so many interesting accessories and a cool rocking chair. Very nicely built!!! Congratulations!

Wow! Pandora, This review rocks....and so does this set!!! Just reading the review made me rush to the Lego Store this afternoon and buy 8 more Friends sets, including this house. We have built most of the Lego houses offered in the past 5 years, and none have had adequate interior furnishings. Many had no interiors at all. So I have made furniture and floors for most of mine...at a tremendous cost and effort. All of a sudden Lego drops this bomb on us, completely furnished! Holy cow! And at 70USD, it is a steal! (And of course I had some VIP points that helped lower the price even more.) Three years ago I bought several furniture sets from Lego, and they cost 25-30USD. That makes this set a real value IMHO. Plus the colors are to kill for. Lego, please give us more sets like this! How about a house with parents for each of the four other girls? I have been playing with Duplo dollhouse 4966 and playhouse 9225 because there has been no decent Lego one. I am now on the last bag of the build, and it already looks great! And I managed to pick up some of the new collectibles while at the store, and they are going into this neighborhood as well! Thanks again for all the details in the review! It is spot on!

This set looks wonderful from your fantastic review! Treehouses appeal to everyone, so count me in! Love all the new pieces and colors, too. Always looking for something to add to my Creator houses and MOC pastel houses. And the fact that guys can easily change a few colors here and there is great. It does not matter whether you are buying this for a young girl or for the parts; sales are sales to TLG. And maybe this will keep them expanding the Friends line so we can fill up the Heartland City map with cool creations! It is nice to hear so many AFOLs lamenting the lovely Paradisa sets....they were my favorites in the 90's when our sons were just getting into Lego. I still have many of them and wish they had made larger ones with more buildable houses and stores. Maybe Friends will fill that void!

I feel the same way about bringing large boxes home even in the car. They are a pain to haul around. Above I made a mistake about the 2.5 gal bags; they are by Hefty and are called Jumbo Multi-Purpose. The SKU is 0 1370084314 3, and it looks as if they were introduced in 2011. Target and Kroger have them in my area, and they were on sale for around 3USD. Hope this helps!

I recently went through most of our collection and tried breaking things into smaller sections and placing them in ziploc bags inside 18L Rubbermaid containers. It works quite well, and I can put about 4 times as much sets/bricks in a container than before. It helped that Target and our grocery store have 2.5 gallon (10 l) Ziplock bags right now...probably for hunting season and large cuts of meat. I stocked up on the larger bags and gallon sizes (4 L) as well and am using them to store similar bricks inside the Rubbermaid containers by set or color. That way I can pull out a bag with a specific part when needed. The sorting has taken a major part of my life, but I enjoy handling the bricks. I did the same with most of my large Duplo collection, and it takes up a lot less space. It is very easy to find the set bags each with a large number on them. I recycle all of the boxes eventually because they take up too much room broken down, and we have no plans of selling any Lego. And those boxes become fire hazards because they burn so easily. And parts do fall out of them. I do hope that they continue decreasing the size of their boxes as it is such a waste of space and resources for all, and parts shake around too much getting damaged before the buyer opens the box. Great topic BTW!

Whoa!!!! I will buy all of your bald dolls! Just PM me. I need more for my pastel houses and love them. Seriously! Legogal
